see like this is the thing with the "ai is mind poison" people their takes will always inevitably turn into "if youre Mentally Deficient in any way you will be extra susceptible to The Machine That Makes Everyone Kill You For Using It so you have to be so so so so careful or else you will incurably poison your mind and soul and literally force us to socially isolate you."
I dont even like or use ai but surely this "if you touch it youre poisoned" mentality isnt actually reducing the userbase of platforms like chatgpt and is instead just making people more secretive about their usage? not to mention that people who treat their usage of ai as an "addiction" will see these takes and think of themselves as irreparably scarred and therefore not see any reason to attempt to better their behaviour?
also, as someone with autism, adhd and a personality disorder (not bipolar, but similar), how fucking infantalizing is it to talk to us like this. like we're children with no agency or control over ourselves and must be told how to behave lest we harm our (already damaged!!) minds??? this is what literally every anti ai take sounds like on here and it actually makes me want to put my head through a wall
