Eh. We don't really get to see a settled and secure Binghe, tho. We get a few glimpses in the extras, but not a solid look. Sure, he's extremely jealous right now, but that's of other adults that he views as a threat. Not a child.
People grow, and change over time, and judging them forever by what they were like at their most reactive is extremely unfair.
I would, instead, suggest that, at his core, Binghe is more like the little sheep version.
As a kid, he was extremely jealous, sure. And he was a little conniving, but not really any more so than any other kid - he's just generally very smart, and SQQ/SY are kiiiind of idiots when it comes to reading other people's intentions.
But Baby Binghe was also extremely selfless, wanted to help, and delighted in learning and doing things for others. That has just been "blackened", as Shen Yuan says, by years of thinking that the person he cares for the most thinks he's irredeemably evil.
Same goes for Bing-ge, honestly. In the original narrative, he never really gets better, because he never actually feels safe. By the time he comes back to the mundane realm, he's had it drilled into his head that the only way someone will love/accept/endure your presence is if you trick them into it, or force them to. None of his wives, including NYY, really marry him after knowing him. They marry The Emperor™, they marry The Rescuer™, they marry whatever mask he was presenting when they met.
So I personally think that, given a few more years of security in their relationship, Binghe would be desperate to have children to dote on. And SY adores taking care of children, too, so it's not like that would be a difficult thing to convince him of. He wouldn't ever be the same as Little Sheep Binghe, but nobody is ever the same as they were after trauma. But they're similar
TL:DR - Bingmei is a little much, but that's also LBH at the very beginning of healing from his trauma. Even Bing-ge could make a turnaround with security and love. Either version is eventually gonna want kids!
