To which I will add- the costs of violence and destruction usually fall heaviest on the poor and marginalized, not the rich and powerful.

The rich can relocate when the bullets start flying. The rich can rebuild if their house gets bombed. The rich can get top-notch health care if they're injured in an attack. The rich can buy their way out of being conscripted to fight. The rich will be the first to get aid if food or power or water or medicine runs short.

The poor can't, and won't.

A revolution must eat a lot of poor people for every rich person it consumes.

This does not mean "just accept the status quo." But it does mean that you need to think real hard about whether the actions you support are actually helping to create a more equitable society, or are just about you venting your anger and frustration and feeling like you're Doing Something.

A love story that becomes a myth ?

I do actually lol, I would love if Katara and Aang’s whole romance is basically a myth in Seven Havens. Since it’s set so far into the future, maybe that would come up if a character is a descendant of them?? I feel like that’s just coming full circle considering kataang are paralleled to two different “lovers”, with Tui and La and Oma and Shu. They even created Republic City together like Omashu was created in honor of the two lovers.

Ebony Jr., a monthly children’s magazine created in the 1970s for Black American children, was published by Johnson Publishing Company, founded by John H. Johnson. The first issue debuted in May 1973, and it quickly became the largest children-focused publication for Black Americans of its time.

The magazine featured educational stories, puzzles, cartoons, and articles centered on Black history and culture. Ebony Jr. was created to give Black American children literature that reflected their culture, history, and lives, filling a major gap left by mainstream media. Within its first month, the magazine generated over 14,000 subscriptions, a true testament to its impact and need.

In 2023, the Ebony Jr. brand partnered with Little Golden Books to introduce a new generation to culturally rich children’s literature.
