Just went to the Flymm's in my Alirya run, and I just wanna ramble and say, I genuinely believe Enver wasn't some devilspawn from the beginning that his mother makes him out to be.
I don't trust that awful woman for a second. The horrible man we met was sculpted through abuse, and you can't change my mind.
Now, I'm not here to say I think kid Enver was a saint, I still fully believe he stole and lied and charmed his way out of stuff. But he wasn't evil. He was just a broke kid, too smart for his own good with no friends and no love at home.
Of course, he complained, he was a child in a bad, stressful, uncaring environment. He always made a racket because tinkering was his only escape.
And then he got freaking sold off to an even worse environment with even less love and more emotional abuse and then physical abuse on top of it.
He had no support, no love, no connection, no choices, no rights. Nothing. Constantly striped down to a useless, awful boy.
I don't like his actions after he escapes, but I can really understand them. He needed to take control, be a person, and be something grand. Yes, he took it too far with making his suffering the world's problem, but it is understandable.
Get hurt. Hurt right back.
He didn't break the cycle that broke him and let it mold him instead. I can hate him for it, but I really can't blame him, not completely.
He could have chosen better, yes. But where was he going to learn that? His horrible parents? The literally devil that "raised" him? The gangs that took him in? Banites?
He found himself in one bad environment after another and the ones during his most vulnerable years, he couldn't even control. Of course, he ended up rotten.
But he didn't start out that way. He was just a kid, and he could've done so much better if given the chance and support :(
