Hello! Welcome to my corner of the internet, I'm Badger or Tarot (depending on the blog lol) and I use they/he pronouns :3 I'm queer and autistic and like to reblog things. I also like to make sideblogs, which I will be explaining and tagging under the cut!
Okay so this (@badgermcghee) is my main blog and is where I put any miscellaneous reblogs. I don't post many original posts here other than tag games, and their respective tags are #badger badgers and #tag games.
@tarotmantic is my main sideblog and is for any fandom posts I do not have a sideblog for. These include but are not limited to The Magnus Archives, Fall Out Boy, Hannibal, and Dear Evan Hansen. I do post original posts there semi-frequently, which are tagged with #tarot.txt for short posts and #tarot.docx for long posts.
@gingerpigs is my petblr blog for my beloved guinea pigs. I started it when I had three ginger pigs hence the branding, but now only one of three is ginger. All posts there are original and are tagged with all the relevant petblr/cavyblr tags.
@mousemannation is my shiny new tennis-specific sideblog. Started just after AO24 I'm still in the honeymoon phase and am reblogging on it constantly. Contains the occasional original post that I do not have a tag for yet.

I have a series of aesthetic blogs that I do not tag on, and they are as follows:

oh shit i didn't expect this to actually get notes lmao
these are all direct quotes from jeffrey jerome cohen's "monster culture (seven theses)" (full pdf linked)
i highly encourage you to read it yourself!
that said, while i think cohen's writing is evocative, it can be a little dense, so while i'm here, here's my capsule summary (you can also hear me talk about this in the first episode of my podcast) (listen to @ghostswerepeopletoo)
i. the monster's body is a cultural body - The monster is a work of fiction to be analyzed through tools of literary and sociological theory.
ii. the monster always escapes - As long as the cultural fear from which the monster stems persists, the monster will reappear in retellings, reimaginings, and sequels.
iii. the monster is the harbinger of category crisis - Monsters defy binaries and challenge easy comprehension or categorization.
iv. the monster dwells at the gates of difference - The monster represents the Other.
v. the monster polices the borders of the possible - Tales of the monster exist to discourage unacceptable or taboo behaviors.
vi. fear of the monster is really a kind of desire - Subjects can vicariously participate in the disruption of the social order through the monster.
vii. the monster stands at the threshold… of becoming - Within the monster we find information about the self.
Normal groceries like milk or bread or whatever running out is whatever. Just anotha day. But when stuff like salt or cooking oil or rice runs out it feels like You’re supposed to be here for me and you’re leaving. You’re just like everyone else
I recently participated in this trans heart health study and they urgently need more participants before their funding runs out this summer (in 2026) as they've had less than 10(!!!) so far (it's crazy).
If you're a trans person in the UK who's been on HRT for 2+ years and can reasonably get to Leicester (they reimbourse travel expenses and buy you lunch), consider participating!
You'd be doing a good thing for our community at large, get a heart check-up while you're at it, and if you do the MRI scan you even get to see a video of your heart beating, it's really cool!
The study is run by some lovely people who are trying to establish normal values for trans people's heart health cause apparently heart size varies by sex, and HRT changes it, so cardiologists currently straight up don't know what is normal for trans patients.
The study involves pedalling on an exercise bike and getting an MRI scan as the two main bits, but all parts are optional if you're not comfortable with any of them. (They're happy to accomodate for any access needs and can give you more detail when you email them.)
Naila, the researcher from the above study, is currently running a short, anonymous survey exploring what stops some transgender people from taking part in research studies.
It takes about 4 minutes to complete, and all responses are confidential!
i think kids should be freely and easily be allowed to transition at low or zero cost and i want every public school to have gender neutral bathrooms and staff who know what being trans is and i want transition to not be as difficult as it is for kids.

Reactionary sub: I'm literally biologically designed for you to use and abuse me. It's just my body doing what is natural.
Dialectical materialist sub: Historical trends in productive forces have produced a moment within the superstructure wherein I derive sexual satisfaction from roleplaying taboo subject matter.
Liberal sub: nobody knows why I get a funny feeling in my tummy when they call me their kid

i wish we were able to talk about women's rights without someone mentioning how much they do or don't want to have sex with them. i don't care if you're a lesbian Stop finding worth in women purely from their perceived attractiveness
"I think women should not be expected to shave for societal respect / to avoid discrimination" "yeah🤤 i love bush" ok well that's not what we're talking about is it.
i hate how many posts about trans women deserving respect always devolve into "I love girldick" or "trans rights but I don't want to date a trans person" because that's entirely unrelated to the topic at hand. you should not respond to feminism with "YESSS I loveeee you because I see you as nothing but a sex object" you people sound like other men I get stuck talking with that end up saying "free the nipple so I can see boobies in public" and thinking they're feminists. why can't we just respect women regardless of your attraction to them or not. why does it need to be brought up in every conversation regarding their rights
in the United Kingdom, people eat a street food known as the ‘tesco meal deal’, often made up of a sandwich, a side, and a beverage. it is renowned for being a cheap and easy option for many. however the more adventurous palate can opt for the ‘greggs sausage roll’ for a truly local flavour…
