(It's terribly Greek, really. Sebastian is sort of the pedagogue and the erastes and the first time courtesan, in this respect. And I do think of Kuro as a post modern Faustian Bildungsroman, in which on some level the bargain made is with the self (Sebastian as Ciel's shadow self and the embodiment of his trauma and the manifestation of his will), guiding it onwards (whether to realisation or self destruction, I'm not yet sure, though I've begun leaning towards the former), and Sebastian is fulfilled and illuminated by Ciel's development.)

The startled gasp I let out when I saw an ask in my inbox, lol. Never in a million years did I ever see myself receiving an ask, let alone from one of my writing inspirations! Thank you so much! Your question is by no means vexing. I've asked that question myself many times before when I get lost in my reveries about cielizzy yuri (I love them so much ...) and when I'm writing fanfiction about them. I highly doubt my answer will be satisfactory or intriguing, but I ultimately believe it depends on the flavour of what I am writing, and the dynamics I want to explore in the oneshot I'm writing. I also think the stage of Cielizzy's relationship and where they are at in terms of intimacy could also be a factor. Since I am terribly indecisive and curious, I usually play it safe and have them switch, so they could explore what they are comfortable with and what makes them both feel good. I do tend to play around however, especially when it comes to exploring different dynamics and concepts with their characters and ship. For example: I could most definitely imagine Elizabeth taking on a more dominant, confident role during their intimate dealings, because being intimate with Cielle and getting to bare the most vulnerable parts of herself to her may give her a confidence boost, which Cielle (as well as me, lol) may find appealing. I could also imagine Cielle taking on a more softer, submissive role, because she wants to relinquish control for once and let herself be vulnerable with someone she loves (I don't know if that sounds ooc..) which Elizabeth (as well as me haha) would find endearing. So ultimately, I would make them switch and just toy around with different roles and ideas. That's one of the best things about fanfiction: The opportunity to explore different dynamics and flavours with your favourite characters and ships, romantic or not.
