Ohhhhh~ okayyyy, lemme think on that. I do tend to write more severe/grim dynamics between them. However, in saying that, I adore the idea of Sebastian finding his little masters mind irrevocably intriguing. He sees the boy as clever and cunning and - when it comes to his ingenuity and how he approaches problems and what solutions he ultimately comes up with - in many respects his equal.

Is the boy thin-boned and prone to human emotional pitfalls? Absolutely. But there's a quiet, determined strength about his mind that captivates the demon. In some respects, I feel like he sees the child as less "human" than all the others. And more akin to "other". Special.

I'll do a few dot points of my softest head canons for them (keep in mind I tend to write dead-dove for them, so they might not be sugary sweet but I'll try my best!):

Sebastian often watches the boy when he sleeps. Not just of a night time when he's tucked up small and snug under his blankets. But if the boy falls asleep at his desk or in the library by the fire. He likes the way the stoic, surly mask falls away. He can see the child as simply that: young and vulnerable and vying desperately for control and vengeance. And it endears the demon to the boy. So he watched him sleep whenever possible, for when his master is awake, any gawking would not be taken kindly.

He likes dressing the boy. Creating outfits that compliment the child's skin tone and eye colour. He likes being the only one to truly be permitted to touch the haughty little lord. To undress and redress. Likewise, he grooms Ciel with exceptional care. Mindful when brushing his hair or bathing him - bath temperature perfect, washcloth soft and not scratchy, etc - he's meticulous in providing exceptional service, not simply because of the contract, but because the child's comfort and wellbeing holds a baffling importance to him.

Ciel rarely asks for reassurance or comfort after nightmares, but Sebastian doesn't need an explicit order to stay by the boy's side. Even if that means forgoing his own duties and waiting out the tedious night hours. So long as his master is content and able to sleep peacefully.

Sebastian genuinely enjoys his role as caregiver. He likes to make the surly little thing happy by providing his favourite sweets or perfectly brewed tea. He likes to play the role of butler just as much as he enjoys being able to show his true nature as demon.

Ciel likes to be kissed - though he also sees it as an extremely intimate thing - so Sebastian often indulges him in private. Offering as many kisses as the boy wants. Especially to soothe or calm. Kisses are an effective way to quell tears, too. Sebastian uses them wisely.

Ciel knows how hard his butler works around the manor and sometimes delegates some of his chores to the other servants to free Sebastian up (couldn't possibly be because he wants his butler's attention all to himself now could it~)

They often play boardgames together. Ciel is a ferocious opponent (he loves games after all) and Sebastian appreciates his skill and enjoys stepping out of the role of butler and protector and indulging in a different kind of entertainment.

Sebastian finds Ciel very pretty. Physically he knows the boy is frail and underweight and small compared to his peers, but there's appeal in that. He likes the delicate fingers and neat-trimmed nails, the long lashes and wide blue eye - he likes the marred violet eye even more so - he likes how slender the boy's legs are, milk-pale and enthralling when he dresses the boy in shorts and silk stockings. He likes his master exactly the way he is. And likewise...

Ciel finds his butler very attractive. He understands its allure to the humans around it. He knows why Mey-Rin dithers about in front of the butler so often. Yet...he finds its other form, the blackened, charred form of demon all the more attractive. He has no need to fear the beast when he's the one who holds its chain, though he still feels the fizz of fear whenever Sebastian deigns to drop the facade of neat-dressed butler and unveil the beast he truly is. He likes feeling powerful by proxy from having his demon near.
