as of writing, i'm just before the halfway point in this series, and this is gonna be the first Gundam series i'm gonna just drop and move on from. i don't really know why, but this is the first that's just so...unengaging to watch. it's not really a quality thing - i think it's overall better than Double-Zeta and Victory.

if i had to try to nail down my biggest problem, it's probably the pacing. it was fine in the first few episode with the "villain of the week" format, but after it switched to the main plot things just felt like they grinded to a halt. the story isn't really progressing, and the "Death Army" mooks have less personality to them than the mass-produced Zakus of the original timeline.

i think it was a mistake for me to get through it now. not because of any real issues with it - if anything, it's because it's one of the best visual novels i've read that's why i'm kinda regretting it. because there's still one more chapter left to release, and i want this playthough to be my first full experience, but if i go back for other routes i feel like i'm risking forgetting the choices i've made, or worse, having other routes' information affecting my decisions when chapter 6 releases.
