“I hate school I’m sorry Malala”- Funny yet poignant. Acknowledges both the difficulty of the task and the fact that doing that task is a privilege. Gives credit to the people who fought for that privilege with a tongue in cheek acknowledgement of the irony of the initial statement
“I’m just a girl I should be home baking bread not doing calculus” - at best historically uninformed at worst leaps decades back in time. Refusal to acknowledge the charged history of education and slights the centuries of women’s labor it took to reach this point
You stupid [SEX MACHINE] you couldn't even run a simple con without [YOUR NUMBER 1 SALESMAN FROM 1997]
taking off a mask to reveal what lies beneath as a romantic gesture is overdone, and besides i want to see the romantic or even platonic potential of protecting someone's identity beneath the mask, without any expectation of ever being allowed to see what's under it. picking it up and holding it gently to their face when it's knocked off and they're in danger of being exposed, without trying to catch a glimpse of what they "really" look like under there. throwing yourself in front of them to hide them from view while they put themselves back together without taking advantage or looking back to see what you're protecting. learning to read them by body language, tone of voice, and behaviour so well that you never need to see their face to feel like you know and understand them.
and needless to say. the mask stays on during sex.

my grubhub being delivered by a wizard or some sort of apostle
ultimately the best way to prevent abuse is to organize society in such a way that everyone's needs are met wothout having to rely on a parent or employer or boyfriend or any one individual. obviously wont stop, like, manipulation or so on, but the ability to dangle basic needs over someone's head is one of the most powerful and consistant tools of abuse out there. if someone is able to just leave, and know that they will have access to food and shelter and clean water and education, that will enable so, so mamy victims of abuse to do just that.
really funny how like 10% of the comments are people going "nuh uh" and the remaining 90% are people going "this is literally whats happening to me/my mom/etc Right Now"
Being critical of your interests is sooooo fun when you have the critic gene & then you sound kind of insane to the average tv watcher when you're like "this is my favorite show, It's Racist" & then you try to clarify what you mean & get that [Speech (legendary) - FAILURE] "the racism is really interesting though"
[Speech (legendary) - SUCCESS] I find the sociopolitical context of pulpy old sci-fi born circa the civil rights movement really fascinating to analyze especially when it was progressive for its time but still reveals the writers' unexamined biases in the subtext
Them: So you're saying its bad and I shouldn't watch it?
Me: I mean depends on your tolerance for this type of racism, but like I said it's my favourite show, it def has some great parts if you're up for it.
Them: Oh so it's not racist.
Me: It absolutely is.
Them: So you're saying racism is ok??
Me: No.
"They say flowers can open new paths"
I still can't believe we're getting a sequel so many years later, I'm so excited!

Saw some very strange birds while birding today.
The worlds' stories are all super short in KH1 but I'm really reminded of how the first game tried to emphasize that these are alternate versions of familiar stories/characters rather than just "the movie but Goofy is there."
Kerchak survives. Aladin's after the lamp of his own accord instead of because Jafar tricked him (and for that matter, Jafar's already taken over Agrabah he's just looking for the keyhole to solidify his power/get even more). King Triton knows about keyblade lore!
I'd like to see more of the idea that these are different iterations of familiar characters. Heck, it's right up the games' alley to add even more copies of its OCs in with the concept of alternate selves in different worldlines.
The [ big shots ]
Inspired by shrimpyjackal's insane rendering skills
You say something really weird to the headless horseman and in response he just stares at you fully maintaining eye contact as he grabs a second pumpkin out of one of his saddlebags and carves a confused/mildly offended face onto it and then replaces the first pumpkin head that's been staring at you the whole time with it
I got inspired
