The ban was retaliation for sharing limited personal information about a dangerous Wookieepedia administrator. I had reblogged my friend's post that discloses a current administrator's political leanings and state.

That administrator was someone I formerly trusted who was part of an invite-only server with me. The admin captured and publicly shared dozens of screenshots of my conversations there (and some of my friend) and included a readme lying about what the screenshots represented (ex. my comments about a possible sexual predator on a train were reframed as violent wishes about Wookieepedia's users, paying attention to people's sexist remarks or transphobic tirades was presented as maintaining a secret blacklist of people who disliked or "opposed" me...). They had previously shared some of those screenshots with people mentioned in them and asked those people for consent to distribute them. I was informed on a Monday that the screenshots would be posted regardless of whether I chose between 1) resigning as administrator by that Wednesday or 2) the community fighting for two weeks in a vote to remove me. My plea to at least redact any other people's names and words and only put me on the pillory was scorned. Everything that happened with the screenshots was done in total violation of Wookieepedia's Discord and privacy policies while claiming to be enforcing the "no personal attacks" policy and ensuring "accountability". Those actions immediately resulted in on-site accusations and personal insults which that admin participated in, escalated the off-site harassment I was already enduring while newly involving my friend in it, and emboldened those parties to escalate their behavior. Despite my begging, the other administrators only intervened on behalf of other people, not me or my friend.

Mspec lesbians and mspec gays are not your enemy!! They are not Ruining the Sanctity of lesbianism or gayness. They are not the reason why cis men are lesbophobia, and they are not why bigots can't take gay people seriously

They are NOT a community that uses a label made to describe a lesbian who is attracted to trans women. It was not made by terfs. It is a label that is largely used by queer people with a beautifully complex sense of sexuality, and/or oftentimes gender identity/identities

Mspec lesbians and mspec gays are simply a subset of the lesbian and gay community, much like the asexual lesbians, or aromantic gays, or the trans* lesbians or the non-he/him gays. These are diverse communities, and have been for decades, even centuries.

No one in the mspec lesbian and mspec gay communities are demanding anyone to do anything, especially in regards to a stranger's own sexuality. All they ask for and want is understanding, respect, and care. Just like the rest of us - just like you.

Mspec lesbians and mspec gays are people who have probably gone through a lot of inner reflection on who they are and what label they want. As you most likely have, as well, and so have I.

We all start off with the same question - "what am I?" - it's just that we all end up with our own answers, each one similar and different to each other.

We are a community. A family. Having a kneejerk "but!! My feelings!" is inevitable, especially with the more complex or obscure things, but that is something that should be temporary and then let go.

Do not let that hook of fear dig into you, because it won't lead you toward the bright future you want.

Fight it, open your mind, and listen to us

we're seeing it now with mspec lesbians and lesbian men. someone states they're lesbian and attracted to men or speaks out in support of those who are and someone will immediately jump in and say "so you think that all lesbians are attracted to men?" as if someone stating their personal experience somehow makes it a universal truth, as if lesbians are a monolithic group.

the same thing happens when a trans man says he identifies as lesbian. someone will immediately jump in and say "oh, so you think me being a trans man attracted to women means i'm lesbian?" as if someone's personal experience is a universal truth, as if trans men are a monolith.

but this isn't new at all. REGs have always been awful at nuance. so much so that it often feels deliberate, to be honest. like a deliberate attempt to derail the conversation from the actual thing that's talked about, making it about a strawman that doesn't exist.

it happened with non-binary lesbians. "so all lesbians have to be attracted to non-binary people?" "so me being attracted to women as a non-binary person means i have to be lesbian?"

it happened with non-bi mspec people. "so because i'm attracted to people regardless of gender i can't call myself bi?" "so you think bi is exclusionary?"

it happened with aces not being comfortable being called bisexual, pansexual etc. "so you're reducing MY bisexuality to only sex?"

it happened with aces and aros labelling multiple orientations. "so you think everyone has to separate their sexual attraction from their romantic attraction?"

it happened with non-binary people. "so you think because i'm gnc i can't be a man/woman?"

and it probably happened with other identities before my time.

and for a group who loves to shout "non-binary isn't a single third gender", that loves to shout about how non-binary is not a monolith, they sure love treating basically every identity as one.

it's always the same. their response to other communities emerging and thriving is always that we're trying to take everything over with our ideas, that we want everyone to be like us, that we're somehow the ones that don't understand nuance. they think by stating our experiences we're trying to force our experiences into other people, despite us not randomly calling trans men lesbians without their consent, despite us not caring that people call all of their attractions collectively "pansexual", despite us not caring if people experience sexual and romantic people as one, despite us not forcing every trixic to be lesbian, despite us not caring that someone chooses the label bi over other mspec labels.

they also love to bring up real issues in this, trying to compare other people existing to real bigots, like people saying that asexuals not wanting to be called bisexual means that asexuals are just evil bimisics who oversexualise and fetishise bi people. and that's what makes it so much more believable to the people who aren't familiar with either side, because of course they agree that fetishising bi people is bad. they just don't realise that that's not what we're doing.

The United States Government:

In order for disabled people to receive any sort of financial assistant for their housing, food, bills, medical supplies, etc., they cannot ever have more than $2,000 of resources to their name. Ever.

It doesn’t matter what it’s for.

You’re saving up for a new wheelchair?

For college?

To put a downpayment on a house?

Hell man, you just happen to budget for once in your life so that you can have some extra money in case something bad happens?

Your benefits immediately get cut off if you’re a cent over $2,000.

And, even worse, you usually end up having to pay back every dollar the government gave you that month.

So say you get $400. If they find out you’re twenty dollars over the resource limit, you have to give them all $400 back and you undergo an investigation of your funds to see if you will continue getting money.

“What if I spend the money that day?”

Doesn’t matter. In fact, from what I can tell, people who do this are actually put under investigation for fraud.

before the movie came out, Marvel gave him an exclusive preview screening. SOme people were upset because they felt if Marvel was really wanted to thank mantlo, they should have donated money to Mantlo’s family.

Sometimes, at the end of the month, he has no idea what to do with his money because the whole month went by and he still has 400-ish bucks in his account, and he fucking panics because he doesn’t want to get anywhere near 2,000.

And here’s the funnest part of the story!

One day he did a huge commission on Second Life and wound up earning 1500 bucks off of it, and he told the guy to donate it 500 bucks at a time over 3 months. The guy didn’t want to, and just donated all 1500, which put my brother at 2,036 bucks.

The state IMMEDIATELY (I’m talking less than an hour) called him up to tell him over the phone that they were canceling his SSI, because they noticed he had gone over the 2,000 buck threshold. He had to tell them that someone had made a charitable donation to him and that this was not a common occurrence in any way shape or form, and upon not believing him, my mother had to call to talk to them as his legal caretaker and say basically the same thing until they called off the cancellation of his SSI money.

He also had to cancel his renter’s assistance because it put him to 1,062 a month, so if he went 30 days without spending any money they’d cancel his SSI altogether. Like, none of us in the family have any fucking clue why that regulation is in place and it’s the stupidest shit in human history.

2. Those who use screenreaders. Fancy symbols, especially ones from other languages, and tyoing quirks fuck screenreaders up. They can change the language, start spouting weird nonsense, or just flat out break.

There are also people who straight up get overwhelmed by all of this without being affected by these problems. Me, for example, I can read all typing quirks just fine but it's still very overwhelming.

Also, big text? There are people who already have their text on their phone set to big because they can't read, and they need plain text for big text.

If you can't provide plain text, you could always

A. ask plaintextpro (or another accessibility blog) for help

B. not format your text at all

I’m just going to ramble about my life now.

I started going into the online queer youth space late 2020, so definitely not within the peak of the MOGAI community or the peak of the hate against the community or specifically tumblr.

However, a lot of what had been established back then had been left behind.

Throughout 2021 I had tried so many labels, and at first it was just interesting but eventually it became overwhelming. And it was especially overwhelming because I didn’t really have anyone to talk to about it. I participated in a lot of queer discourse, at the time I had the opinion that everyone was a specific thing, and everyone should label themselves as such. I thought that everyone was fine with hyper specific labels, or should be fine, and if they weren’t they were automatically trying to fit into the cishet society.

There was a time where it became wayy too overwhelming to the point where I was so mentally drained on trying to figure out what I am. If I could go back in time and give myself advice, I would tell my younger self that it’s okay to be complicated, but it’s also okay to be simple. Finding labels as a young queer person can be so overwhelming with how complex gender and sexuality are, the only thing that matters when it comes to that is if you feel comfortable with a label, use it. It doesn’t matter if it seems contradictory, complicated, maybe even vague, use it. Use whatever label you want. Or none at all! That’s perfectly fine too.

I’m technically Boyflux, but I don’t want to use that label. I just don’t feel comfortable using it, so I describe myself as a Gender-fluid Trans man instead. That’s perfectly fine.

My thoughts on my sexuality has been all over the place recently, and I just use whatever words I feel like to describe it, if I even can. Lately I’ve been thinking it’s not that important to me.

Your feelings change, and that’s perfectly fine.

I think what is equally important, is that we don’t police other people. Let people do what they want in terms of labels or lack of labels. As long as they aren’t hurting you, or anyone else they are perfectly fine.

It’s not my business if someone doesn’t want to use the label aromantic even if they fit the “qualifications”. It’s not my business if someone wants to describe themselves as a Bisexual lesbian, or Bisexual Gay. It’s not my business if someone wants to describe themselves as a Tranny, it’s not my business if someone doesn’t want to be referred to that word at all. It’s not my business if someone wants to describe themselves with Xenogenders, Or neopronouns. Let people have fun with it, Let people be chill with it, let people LIVE.

If we don’t understand something about another person, that’s okay. We don’t have to understand each other, We just have to respect and be kind to each other.
