so nix is a character for a minecraft roleplay event i havent actually played in yet. so nothing has actually happened in-game this is all me and making connections with players in the event (theres like 600 people wowzers). The event works in a cool way. Each event held is set in the same world and between each event 20 years pass. So my character is the kid of two characters introduced in the last event, or generation.

anyway Nix grew up between two nations so had community in both, despite them having kinda bad blood with one another (friendly rivalry ooc but a bit more of a serious one ic). there was also a dragon in the previous generation, gave my character's father a shitton of trauma.

however! Nix relates to the dragon that killed tens if not hundreds of people. Why? well...

Nix had a best friend, Foxglove, who went missing 2 years before the start of the generation. Before this they were a kid who would have been perfect for a boring ass hero's journey: strong belief in justice, willing to break the rules to do what's right/good, adventurous, dedicated, the whole 9 yards.

But now? They're an asshole. Cold, refusing to show or acknowledge emotion, ignoring people they don't want to talk to, because the mentor for their hero's journey went missing/died! They're angry! They've been prone to anger before, but this is new.

That's what people would see, anyway. In reality Nix killed Foxglove, and meant it. At the moment they did, anyway. Second degree murder. They regret it now, of course they do. I wouldn't be playing them otherwise. But Nix has SO MANY FUCKING CONNECTIONS that make this all SO PAINFUL!!!

Like. They relate to the dragon because if the dragon can be redeemed, if people can see the person-hood in him, maybe Nix is redeemable too? Maybe they can be forgiven, too. Maybe their life won't be ruined.

The most PAINFUL relationship this will ruin when this gets out is with Foxglove's mentor. Foxglove had deadbeat parents who kinda dumped them onto a dye shop owner. Foxglove obviously didn't like this and dipped any time they could. The dye shop owner loved Foxglove like a kid sibling, giving everything for them, trying to make this difficult portion of their life made worse by their parents more bearable. So Nix cutting this bright life short, a life the dye shop owner tried their damn best to make better... IT'S PAINFULLL

I'm not saying many details cus I don't want anyone in that rp finding this aghghh I may delete this....
