genuinely I'm so sick of people wanting all fiction to be ethical. can we all just get a little gross with it. the point of fiction is that it's not real. we can be unethical in fiction; same goes with being perverted with fiction, being unrealistic with fiction, and being grotesque with fiction. not all fiction has to be ethical, not every character has to be ethical, and that's okay. can we stop with the puritanism. be gross. be unrealistic. be whatever. if I don't like it it's not my business as long as we're all clear that its fictional.

honestly one of my favorite things about fanfic is when you can see the canon influences come out in really subtle ways. like a canon line thats mentioned once as a throwaway is suddenly the entire premise for a fic or it influences the characterization or something. its just so cool to see how people weave their ideas around a source material, especially if its not a detail i'd thought about before

in a videos game the Jungle has a Temple which must be a biome specific natural structure and surely means nothing. most times it's abandonedTemple covered by Jungle Vegetation but sometimes, less so since the 90s but still around, youre gonna meet some human or at least humanoid people depicted in a cartoonishly obsolete culturally syncretic racism that surely cant be really racist, guys, theyre not pointing to a real culture plus the people of color that live around me aren't like that. those are Jungle People that live in Jungle and we all know that there's no real life people that live in Jungle
