Look at them π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί
helpful tattoo reminder: they are technically Injuries so u have to eat a lot of calories drink a lot of water and sleep a lot after so your body can Heal The Injury
another helpful tattoo reminder: the 24-48 hours after you get a tattoo your brain can not be trusted in regards to whether or not you should have gotten that tattoo, if you have somehow ruined your life, if it turned out ugly, etc. ignore that
finally, while i am at it: always bring a candy bar and a sugary drink to your appointment for blood-sugar reasons (worst case scenario) or so you can have a treat (unilaterally applicable)
this has been your friendly neighborhood haver of 19* tattoos (assorted sizes and placements)
*not totally sure here. bad at counting
Can I just emphasize that not everyone reading this has yet encountered the information that injuries require food, hydration, and sleep? I think the way many people associate rest and injury is that you rest the injury itself to avoid making it worse, but overlook that the healing process itself requires rest regardless of if not-rest directly injures it further.
Also exercise is a form of controlled injury so that as your body heals it heals stronger. You also need food-hydration-rest for strength and cardiovascular improvements after exercise.
The people you don't like, the most evil demographic of people, they also deserve rights. And you can't look the other way when their rights aren't respected because your rights are next.
Yes, this applies to pedophiles, and rapists, and murderers, and nazis, terrorists, and white supremacists. Because the moment we accept those groups don't deserve rights, anyone who disagrees with the government is suddenly one of those things.
Gay and trans people have been called "rapists and pedophiles" for decades as justification for our eradication. We've been accused of grooming children as a valid reason for our identities to be criminalized.
Antifa (anti-facists) and trans people have been designated as terrorists by the Trump administration. It's already happening.
love how so much of the phm fandom is very adamant about βyes rocky is endearing but do NOT forget that he is not graceβs little pet. he is a 200+ year old married supergenius alien engineer. he was literally smart enough to be sent on a mission to save his planet, help discover and create a method of communication with a completely alien species, and work WITH said species to find the reason his planet is dying and create the solution to saving it. stop babying him.β and everyone pretty much agrees
simultaneously, grace IS rocky and adrianβs pet and thatβs 100% canon basically

and while weβre at it, fuck this idea that ONE ACCOUNT has to belong uniquely to ONE PERSON. This is the same thing these silicon valley fucks want; their vision of the future where everyone has a unique biometric ID code implanted in their body is the ultimate extension of Netflixβs βno password sharingβ policy. You want to use your friendβs car? Sorry, you canβt, you need to be an authorized user. Your mother wants to let you look something up on her OED account? Too bad! Thatβs only for her! The concept of perfect market efficiency gives them greedy little money bag eyes.
If I pay money to have a newspaper sent to my house, they donβt charge me extra when I show it to my dad. This password sharing thing isnβt just a Netflix problem; donβt be surprised if it shows up elsewhere in other forms. Stamp this idea out now or weβll be stuck with it.
This is by far the most popular post I have and I have to say: good, Iβm right. Password sharing and ID verification are going to kill the internet. not oooh in 50 years. in like 5 more.
the anniversary of library paste manβs death is in four days.
One hundred and ten years ago to the day. Amazing. Incredible.

You know, when I've remarked that a lot of the responses to my posts feel like people are just plucking out keywords they think they recognise based on the shape of them and replying to what they imagine the post says based on that, the possibility never occurred to me that this is actually how many American schools are currently teaching kids to read.
Like, my assumption this whole time has been that when folks go "I misunderstood this post that says [thing] as saying [unrelated thing] because I mistook [word] for [completely different word that happens to start with the same letter]", that was a bit. What do you mean they're teaching kids a reading method that's tailored to produce this exact error?
Three cueing. Once you learn about it, a whole lot of very frustrating online discourse with US Americans makes so much sense π
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have
Please also keep in mind that region and age will effect if the American has been taught this way. There are young adults who were taught to read like this, but this system was forced more fully into place within the past 10-15 years, so many current teenagers are effected by it.
Many teachers TRIED to warn about this, but our government forced the changes. I have met multiple teachers who've openly complained and tried to talk to the boards if directors about it, but if you didn't/don't comply, you could lose your job.
The podcast version of this article is how I first learned about this, and it's also excellent (link in the link above but just in case):
There's an idea about how children learn to read that's held sway in schools for more than a generation β even though it was proven wrong by
As someone who doesn't have kids and whose nephews are voracious readers who (when I've asked) seemed to have escaped three-cueing, this was absolutely dumbfounding to me. It really does make a LOT of sense in terms of how people read, write, and react to the written word these days. (FYI it wasn't just taught in the US but we definitely championed it in a big way, largely because, you guessed it, capitalism.)
Anyway if you've got the time and like longform audio journalism, this is also great.
more than anything i want a world where a trans girl realizing she is a trans girl faces zero fear from that realization and subsequent coming out. Where she can say "Oh sweet, I can just be a girl? Sign me up!", no worrying if shes girl enough, no worrying if society will accept her, no worrying if she'll be an attractive girl as she transitions, no worrying at all in any way shape or form.
In the early twenty-first century "goo goo ga ga" is used as a placeholder for the various sounds and vocalizations newborn babies make. Given the number of phonemes available, and the lack of cognitive development, babies don't generally say anything specific. The actual phrase "goo goo ga ga" would be possible, but unusual to hear from a baby. It is usually used in fictional contexts, or by adults describing baby sounds. It is an "archetypal" phrase rather than a frequent occurrence.
The relayed joke from the above is the mother pretending that the baby deliberately chose to say "goo goo ga ga" to play into the stereotype of being a baby, rather than it being a random occurrence (potentially influenced by the baby talk previously said to the child.)

ok but the full translation is also extremely good
that translation is accurate except for that last part. pflegestufe doesnt really translate to a state of need, its moreso means that the weed would leave you disabled in a way that makes you legally eligible for care or assistance
Translator? Why not trans now?
My parents just read this post aloud to me and asked me if Iβd seen it. I donβt know how to react.
having feelings that contradict your morals is soooo fucking annnoooooyyyiiingggggg. can the emotions and logic department get on the same page im tired of having to like strangle myself into being a tolerable person

this blog supports punching fascists
[contains quote post or other embedded content]
This is so important though: "You're gonna get in trouble for that" reveals so much. He was planning on nobody doing anything, not because nobody stands up to him, or nobody objecting to what he says. He expects good people to be goody-two-shoes rules followers, and he expects the rules to protect him no matter what he does.
Important lesson to learn from this standing up to fascists means getting into good trouble. Get into trouble if it's worth it. Fascists will never expect it.
Meanwhile on tumblr
The above is a reference to the status of the much despised senator of Kentucky, Mitch McConnell, a man who took credit for the erosion of democracy, especially in the form of blatant hypocrisy when it came to preventing the appointment of Supreme Court justices and other positions when circumstances disfavored his party, but expediting the appointments when they favored his party. He is blamed directly for many of the failings of the early twenty-first century.
At the time the above was posted, the excessively aged senator has been absent from public eye after a public health failure. Given his age, the flight of his much younger wife out of the country, and inability to provide proof of life, it is believed that he is dead, or effectively unable to serve (such as being brain dead). Despite this, individuals form his party have claimed to speak with him, offering no proof.
Notably, under Kentucky law, should the senator be dead or brain dead, there would be an election held to replace him, effective immediately. It is generally expected, both by allies and opponents of McConnell, that the replacement would be likely to end up being Thomas Massie, a member of the same party who is an outspoken critic of the government's handling of the Epstein files (such as the failure to provide sufficient transparency or prosecute individuals believed to be of a deeply criminal nature). Massie had just lost the party's primary for his congressional seat, due to (per his claims) the financial support of those who would be implicated in the Epstein Files. As such, there is a perception that certain individuals benefit from preventing a special election from occurring and pretending Mitch McConnell is alive, whether or not he actually is.
Given how influential (and despised) Mitch McConnell was, there is a great desire to get to the truth of the matter in the early twenty-first century. The two posts above are a reference to this.
On Wikipedia, a free online, publicly curated encyclopedia, there is a level of acclaim to being able to make edits to notable pages. An individual as important as Mitch McConnell has a highly relevant page, so racing to be the one to get to mark a change (such as replacing all instances of "is" to "was") is something that many editors would race to accomplish.
In comparison, the Tumblr post is a meme from supernatural, where a character admits their love for another, only to be met by a non-sequitur. This evolved into a meta-meme, after someone commented that they were learning breaking news from the non-sequitur in the meme. In this sense, posting this "Destiel" meme (short hand for the ship name form the show), serves as a reference to breaking news. It is expected when something major happens in the world, someone will post in via the meme, and that post will spread immensely as other people reblog it. This is an equivalent form of acclaim to the Wikipedia editors (hence the response to the first image), representing another online race, waiting in anticipation of the starting gun (official confirmation of Mitch McConnell's death.)
