Now that we’re allowed to be liberals again can we talk about the homophobia towards Pete Buttigieg

Cope and Cage are fascinating to me as two old men who are bound together by a lifelong bond but have polar opposite takes on how they view the past. In a shoot interview, Christian said that as far as he's concerned, 'Christian Cage' never spent a day in the WWE. Instead of incorporating his experiences into the character, Cage constructed a whole new persona who never went through what he went through, who DIDN'T spend years of being seen as Edge's sidekick and working for a man who literally hated his face. Meanwhile Copeland had a overall more positive experience at WWE* and when he comes to AEW immediately entreats Christian to team up with him again so they can relive their glory days. Hell, he brings back a gimmick which is wholly reliant on an obsolete technology, that's just how attached to the past he is! But even though Christian would rather avoid the past completely while Cope embraces it, the fact is neither wants to do this without the other so they make it work. (Copeland may have been pushed more/treated better, but there was still a lot of fucked of stuff he experienced like reportedly not actually wanting to do the 'live sex celebration.' But I also think that's an interesting divide between people where they can both go through something similar and have different outlooks on it).

i genuinely don't think there's much, if anything, hotter than someone clearly having a blast doing something they're really good at. doesn't really matter what it is. the combo of competence and joy is absolutely lethal to me
