Oh, okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don’t know, that gaslight gatekeep girlboss meme, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you think modern feminism has been co-opted by corporations. But what you don’t know is that that meme is not from Instagram, it's not from Twitter, it's not from Tiktok, it’s actually from Tumblr. You’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in January 2021, Tumblr user missnumber1111 posted, "today's agenda: gaslight gatekeep and most importantly girlboss." And then I think it was a-m-e-t-h-y-s-t-r-o-s-e, wasn’t it, who reblogged it with an image of the phrase edited over a piece of "Live, Laugh, Love" wall art? And then gaslight gatekeep girlboss showed up in the feeds of eight different Twitter repost accounts. Then it filtered down through Instagram and then trickled on down into some tragic “alt side of Tiktok” where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that meme represents millions of notes and countless Tumblr users and so it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from Tumblr when, in fact, you’re wearing the meme that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of “stuff.”
so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
okay so i just got my dream job??? a week after applying to it?? and now i’m thinking….maybe this is the good luck post
…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment
likes charge reblogs cast, folks, this is the good luck post
i need all the help i can get for finals
Hey so
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.
So you know.
This might be the real one, y’all.
I could use some luck
I need luck and good health. Please.
firm believer you can't be a ''good person''. too much niuance to life.
you can be good (adjective) but you cannot be good (identity)
if you think you are good (identity) you are more likely to cause harm as you don't consider yourself to be capable of it
That's a good distinction.
I think it also works with other "positive" traits.
You can be nice (adjective), but "nice" people tend to be too afraid of offending anyone to step up when needed.
You can be honest (adjective), but people who make being "honest" a part of their personality use it as excuse to be blunt (at best) or downright rude
You can be smart (adjective), but those who view themselves as "smart" (identity) tend to look down on others who don't know the same things as them
You can be brave (adjective), but "brave" (identity) people are often reckless
Basically, if you pin your self-worth and identity on a single/few specific traits, you're more likely to embody the negative aspects

I am American and I have never seen photos like this. I had no idea there are borders like this. Even though I LOVE the idea of open borders, I am staring at these pictures like “wait…people can just…walk across some stones or grass and BE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY??? and nobody stops them?? how does that WORK?!” So you can tell that my country’s propaganda has gotten to me by convincing me that this CAN’T work even though…it…obviously can. These pics just seem unreal to me. I’ve been taught my whole life that this can’t exist. In 27 years no one has ever sat me down and gone, look, here’s how it is elsewhere. It isn’t impossible at all.
I want to add something, but I’d just be restating what they said. I.. didn’t know peace and kindness like this was possible.
All of the above, and …
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to Belgium, apparently.
This also leads to some funny images like: GuEsS wHeRe ThE bOrDeR Is XD
this is real, but it also gets at why hopeful stories are so important - its real hard to make a better world if you cant even imagine it existing
suddenly struck with thoughts about the devastating concept of Jason Todd
because he was good. because he had a bleeding heart despite every reason not to. he loved school and was good at it. he was the first to be adopted, with little pretense of guardianship. he did everything he could to be a perfect Robin and live up to an impossible ideal. he only ever wanted Bruce and Dick to like him.
because he met Bruce in the same place and on the same day that Bruce's parents died--the single defining moment of Batman's existence. and he made Batman laugh. he hit the Dark Knight, Terror of Gotham, with a tire iron. he wasn't afraid of the man who turned fear into a weapon.
because he couldn't save his mother from herself, but he tried. because he was too good not to try and save the woman who gave him up. too good to play the Joker's game. the crowbar didn't kill him, the bomb did. he died knowing he wouldn't make it and tried anyway. he died a hero.
because other Robins have died, but none of them put an irrevocable tear in the mythos of Batman. because Jason Todd always dies, in every universe. he dies for the sins of his father. he was put to death by popular vote, sacrificed by the crowd. doomed by the narrative and doomed by the audience. the boy who only ever tried to prove he was good enough--wasn't good enough.
because he has every reason to be angry. because he didn't ask to be murdered, didn't ask to be brought back, and when he did everyone acted like he was better off dead. Bruce tried to kill him and nearly succeeded. he's blamed for his own death and blamed for his resurrection. he can never come home because the house is haunted by his own ghost.
because he's been the hero, the victim, and the villain. because his family and his writers and his universe don't know what to make of him. they don't know how to look his tragedy in the eye. and how can you?
it hurts to look at the hero who cannot be good enough, the victim who will only ever be angry, the villain who can sometimes be right. the audience hates to feel complicit and, in this exceptional case, they are.
Never before has something like this made me bawl at my workplace..

2521: coming of age
in response to the illogical takes floating around some corners of the internet after the ep.12 kiss, i want to explore the show’s portrayal of the experience of “coming of age”. this is partly a thinkpiece about seungwan, yi jin, and hee do, and partly an argument against some absurd opinions i’ve been seeing lately. please enjoy!
coming of age as coming into the social self
this show is fascinated with the liminal existence of people in their twenties, caught between lingering in their teenage self and entering an approximation of adulthood that might come at the cost of who they really are. poised on this threshold where society often expects us to leave more than we are willing to sacrifice, seungwan and yi jin present us with two parallel paths of resistance.
when we first see seungwan, it’s through the eyes of the world: the perfect student whose talent and effort will get her high on the capitalist ladder. but as we slowly peel back the illusion, like flakes of yellow wallpaper, we bear witness to the bleak world beyond, plagued by the ennui of endless study that drains her very desire to live.
only the presence of jiwoong in her life, the knowledge that happiness does not have to be achieved but is always within reach, saves her from erasing the part of her self still capable of being young. it’s jiwoong’s daily resistance to adhering to social structures that fuels seungwan to reject the social conditioning she’s been subject to her entire life, the rule that claims that she is a person only if she is a member of an inherently oppressive society.
in the subversive space of her pirate radio show, the real seungwan comes alive: the seungwan who is free to define the world for herself, to invent and negotiate meaning without the threat of future social ostracization breathing down her neck. it is here where her private self can triumph over her social self for good, and where she is brave enough to call out society’s bullshit and stand by her views no matter the consequences to her social image.
by rejecting the corrupt structure of the educational system, seungwan asserts her identity as a “rebel teen” free to question and criticize the world as it closes in on her. even her new hairstyle is an act of resistance, a loud rejection of the neat haircut valued by a society which punishes individuality and rewards brainless uniformity.
when seungwan enters adulthood, she’s a critical thinker fighting to maintain the values integral to her inner self.
when we meet yi jin at twenty-two, his transition into adulthood has been so sudden that it’s left him reeling, a lost boy looking for a way back to his teenage self, for his ability to dream and enjoy life. far from an actual adult, yi jin is forced to simulate adulthood by a society whose mistakes are somehow his to bear as he stumbles under the weight of becoming the biggest emotional and financial supporter of his family. yi jin wears adulthood like a pair of too-big shoes, and every step spells pain.
it’s only when hee do shows him that it’s still okay to take off the shoes sometimes, and run barefoot across the grass, that he begins to feel comfortable in the guise of his adult self. it’s only when she teaches him how to dream when the whole world doesn’t believe in you that he dares to reach for the stars again. it’s her signal of joy, sent through the static of the tv screen, that pulls him out of the despair of the pohang fish market and makes him dream again.
hee do saves yi jin: she saves the youth inside him that society tried to kill; she saves yi jin’s belief that he is worth saving, that he can save himself.
and when society comes for her, with its relentless glare of the camera flash and its leering appetite for ratings, it’s his turn to save her, to put her above the trappings of his new profession and choose their relationship over his standing in society. his bond with hee do helps him save another key piece of his self: his ability to resist authority despite his financial need to please it.
yi jin is still entering adulthood, and we still don’t know the outcome of the conflict between his personal self and his public self. but his ability to dream and to remain a youth around the taeyang squad are powerful weapons against the invisible violence of society.
coming of age as coming into the private self
while yi jin and seungwan grow into subversive members of adult society, hee do experiences a much more private, but no less dramatic change: the arrival of her adult self.
she puts it best in the last episode: she’s already grown up, but still growing; she’s already an adult, but is still a youth. her incredible emotional maturity has been shining since the start of the series, and her goofiness has not been fading, but rather blooming out of awkwardness and into charm.
but the most important change the show portrays her journey through is her sexual awakening. you know, the very natural thing we all experience and that some segments of the audience have been unbelievably weird about.
hee do’s sexual awakening is not a new plotline: it’s a story the show has been telling from the start. it’s in the moment we saw her crush on the male lead in full house, and in the moment she had to draw the characters kissing to mend the rift in the comic book. it’s in her sudden awareness of yi jin after their fencing match, and in her decision to date for the sake of testing the realism of the romance in the comic book. it’s in her panic at developing a crush for yi jin, and in her inability to gauge whether her feelings are large enough for the name of love.
the girl fascinated by the idea of romance has now grown into the adult initiating a romantic relationship with her best friend of two years.
the show has always been masterful at representing this change, but its storytelling genius shines best in the new year scene, a brilliant embodiment of hee do’s transition from her teenage decade to her adult millennium. one of the most impressive features of hee do’s first kiss scene is how very anti-romantic it is, where “romance” stands for the glorification and embellishment of romantic relationships by media such as full house for public consumption.
no feature of the editing, the setting, or the score creates a romantic atmosphere in this scene. there’s only two people sitting on the bare floor with their backs pressed against a faded green wallpaper, turning to the tv so they won’t have to acknowledge that they just chose to spend the potential end of the world together. only the weight of yi jin’s words when he says that he doesn’t mind the world ending in this moment; only the honesty of hee do’s action when the countdown starts. only the booming of the bell like a heartbeat in the silence between them; only the flickering light of the tv painting their shadows red and blue.
the lack of editorial interference permits the lack of an audience; it renders the scene so realistic it might as well be a memory of the viewers themselves. and the lack of exaggerated attempts to create a romantic atmosphere by the actors, such as the casual delivery of yi jin’s line and the spur-of-the-moment action of hee do, conveys the fact that the characters’ feelings and gestures are a helpless expression of their hearts.
hee do and yi jin don’t need to playact romance; they are experiencing the real thing. their feelings are as real as the anxiety still present between them when the kiss ends, as the confusion they will need the next episode to untangle.
yi jin not kissing her back then and there is not an act of him somehow being the bigger adult: it’s a natural reaction to being absolutely stunned by the na hee do who has been turning his world upside down for two years now. it’s a habit of holding back from expressing his feelings for her, from even thinking about crossing any physical lines in the same quest to protect their relationship that she shares.
to preserve this feeling that they never called friendship, both yi jin and hee do held back for so long that it became a reflex, and it took one act of bravery to begin to change the physical expression of their feelings.
to deny yi jin and hee do the agency to participate in sexual activity is to deny them the right to be human. to deny hee do the ability to “know what she’s doing” is to deny her the right to grow up.
because no matter what absurd statements the lay audience makes to keep her in the past, what hee do wants for herself is change.

Okay I’m currently furious that migraines are often so blindly easy to treat and I had to find this out myself at the age of 26 when I’ve been to a neurologist since I was 11 lol so I’m about to teach you two neat and fast little tricks to deal with pain!
The first is the sternocleidomastoid muscle, or the SCM muscle.
This big red section is responsible for pain around the eye, cheekbone, and jaw, as well as some temple pain. Literally all you have to do is angle your head down a little, angle it away from the side that hurts, and then you can gently pinch and rub that muscle. I find it best to start at the bottom and travel upwards. The relief is so immediate! You can increase pressure as you feel comfortable doing so.
Here is a short and easy video showing this in action
The second is a fast and easy stretch that soothes your vagus nerve, which is the nerve responsible for calming you down. The vagus nerve, for those unfamiliar, is stimulated by deep breathing such as yawning, sighing, singing, or taking a deep breath to calm your anger in a tense situation.
You can stretch this out by sitting up as straight as possible (this does not have to be perfect to work) and interlacing your fingers. Put your hands on the back of your head with your thumbs going down the sides of your neck and, while keeping your face forward, look all the way to one side with just your eyes. Hold that until you feel the urge to breathe deeply or yawn, or until you can tell there’s a change. Then do the same thing on the other side. When you put your arms down, you should clearly be able to turn your head farther in both directions. If the first session doesn’t get rid of your migraine, rest and repeat as many times as necessary. I even get a little fancy with it and roll my eyes up and down along the outer edge sometimes to stretch as much as I can.
If you need a visual here’s a good video on it. I know some of the language they use seems questionable but this is real and simple science and should not be discarded because it’s been adopted by the trendy wellness crowd!
I seriously cannot believe I didn’t hear a word of this from any doctor in my life. Additionally, if you get frequent recurring migraines, you may want to see a dietician. Migraines can be caused by foods containing histamines, lectin, etc. and can also be caused by high blood pressure in specific situations such as exercise, stress, and even sex.
If any of this information helps you I’d love to hear it btw! It’s so so fast and easy to do. Good luck!
*currently suffering from a horrible migraine. Tries this*
Are you fucking shitting me it works!?
@thebibliosphere I don't know if it'll help, but it may be worth looking into.
This is something my magic physio man also taught me. It helps if your migraines are triggered by muscle tension. Not so much if you have other root causes like OP mentioned above.
Also: while we’re doing checkpoints, make sure you’re on WiFi and not data
And unclench your jaw
If you need to use the bathroom you have to do that now
Please get that drink of water and remember your meds
If you can’t remember the last time you showered/brushed your teeth here’s your sign to try and do those today
Set an alarm for tomorrow if you need to!
Farewell online privacy
What happened?
Trump happened.
just get a VPN?
You can’t just tell people to ‘get a VPN (Virtual Private Network)’. Buying a VPN is like buying a house. It’s very very important. Having no VPN or having a ‘wrong’ one can seriously damage your life. Especially for Americans because their privacy laws are garbage. I am going to try explain why you should get a VPN but bare with me, I am from Germany and my English is far from perfect.
Let’s start with a simple test. Click this link here: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ It will tell your IP address, your ISP (internet service provider), and your location. The location might not be very accurate, but then again, it’s just a simple website. Imagine what the government can do!
So basically, everyone can find out where you live. But there is more danger. Your ISP. Your ISP logs your every move online and they are required to keep it in case the government wants access to it (or if a 3rd party wants to buy your data (yikes). They have everything. What websites you visit. How long you stay on a website. What you download. Your search terms. European laws are more subtle on this but if you are from the US you are #@*#&, especially because Trump doesn’t support the open internet. It’s scary but maybe in the future you can’t get a job because the recruiter knows your searched on ‘how to deal with depression’ or anythings else that’s supposed to be private because it’s your f*cking right. Or you get a $100k fine because you pirated a movie 15 years ago. You need a VPN. You’re dumb for not using one. but what does a VPN do?
A VPN encrypts all your data so if it were be intercepted no one can ‘crack the code’ and damage your privacy.
Usually being online goes like this (simplified): Your computer —-> ISP (—–> keeps data —–> sells it)
But with a VPN it goes like: Your computer —–> VPN (encrypts data)—–> ISP (ISP can’t see shit)
Furthermore, a VPN hides your IP address and location by giving you another IP address located in Spain for example (you can often choose from a list and change as many times as you want).
Now that you know why you should get a VPN and what is does it is important to educate yourself because people often choose the wrong VPN. VPN providers are also businesses and have to obey the law. If you choose a VPN provider located in the US then you are throwing your money away because the laws in the US shits on your privacy. If the US gov wants the provider to give all their logs they have to obey. The ISP still can’t see what you are doing online and sell your data but the US gov can interfere with your VPN provider so NEVER CHOOSE A PROVIDER LOCATED IN THE US.
I just wanted to make that very clear so my followers don’t buy false security.
There is still more danger! Who says your VPN provider isn’t selling your data? You need to check their logging policy. Do they keep logs? If yes, what for? For how long do they keep them? Tip: Choose a provider who doesn’t keep logs
More about law The US is part of the Five Eyes program (the worst):
The Five Eyes, often abbreviated as FVEY, is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These countries are bound by the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence (source)
There is also a Nine Eyes (bit better) and Fourteen Eyes Program (better). You don’t want a VPN provider who is located in one the Five Eyes countries. If you had to choose go for a provider located in a country that’s part of the Fourteen Eyes Program or even better, go for a country that isn’t part of any program!
I know this is a shitty explanation and please pardon my english but now it’s time to do your own research. Take your privacy seriously. Maybe WWIII breaks out and you get killed for liking the ‘wrong’ FB-page.
Go to this website: https://thatoneprivacysite.xyz/simple-vpn-comparison/
Make sure that your future VPN provider both has green boxes for Privacy Jurisdiction and Privacy Logging.
I recommend ovpn.se and trust.zone. ovpn is located in Sweden so they are part of the 14 Eyes Program and they keep minimal logs. Their business ethics, however, are alright.
Trustzone is located in the Seychelles. No country can interfere and their privacy jurisdiction is the best you can get. The US want your data but needs to get it from Trustzone? The Seychelles will simply give them the finger and wave them goodbye. However, this makes this provider very appealing for people who torrent and criminals because they keep no logs (and that is how it shoud be) Also, there are almost no marketing efforts so this provider is one the cheapest)
Also, often providers such as ExpressVPN are being called ‘The Best’ on websites about VPNs but know that this is just marketing which also makes those provider more expensive (and they too shit on your privacy)
This must be the worst article you have ever read but please, please take your privacy very seriously.
EDIT: I got many people asking me which provider I use. For those who want to know, I use Trust Zone. They offer a free 3-day trial with no strings attached. But still do your own research!
I am also with Trustzone but I think you forgot to explain one of it’s most important features. It protects you when you are using someone else’s Wi-Fi. If you are at Starbucks and you use their Wi-Fi your privacy is at risk. Anyone with ill intentions could steal your information. Especially if you are using an unsecured Wi-Fi hotspot. With a VPN your data gets encrypted so no one can steal it.
Wait, what’s going, on? Did trump destroy internet privacy with a bill or something? Where’s the news? Oh wait, why am I getting visions of Alex Jones and selling water purifiers?
Trump wants more surveillance of Muslim Americans. This in a country where internet privacy is already close to non-existent.
Trust.Zone has a free trial. Use it.
btw this post only has 11k notes? That’s quite disappointing for something this important.
Don’t reblog this post to save a life. Reblog this to protect an entire family!
@earth-ruin @writing-prompt-s Should I get trustzone for my mobile device?
If you use public Wi-Fi, then yes. Which VPN you use is up to you, amigo. Take @earth-ruin‘s advice. Do your own research first.
@elvesfromthedeep just brought the current situation in the US to my attention (March 30, 2017).

Anger as US internet privacy law scrapped
Congress just voted to let internet providers sell your browsing history
To all my friends in the US, please read this entire post. Making everyone aware of VPNs is going to be my mission. Your privacy matters. Please reblog this post.
Don’t tell me you just wanted to scroll past this. Stop looking at pictures of cats for a moment, okay? Don’t you realize how important this is? This is dangerous! ‘America, the best FREE country in the world’ my ass.
With this new law your ISP can sell your Internet history which could include passwords, usernames, religion, credit card numbers, race and much more to the highest bidder. So here is what I want you to do.
You are going to read the whole thing and before you think ’this is so important. Let me reblog this real quick and go back to admiring cats again-’ NO! Don’t reblog this. Take action first. Then reblog. Sign up for a free trial! Trust.Zone offers one (here). Yes. It might be difficult to set up a VPN for some people. But is that going to stop you from protecting yourself and your family? 30 minutes. 30 minutes is all that it takes. 5 if you know how to install software. The problem with some of you is that you see ‘difficult’ as something negative. I want you to see difficult differently. I need you to push through this stuff. You are going to protect yourself. There is nothing negative about that.
VPNs are fun and costsaving too! A VPN bypasses geographical restrictions so you can access websites you normally can’t or you could start Netflix’s one month free trial over and over again- forever. And it’s legal! (unless you use it to buy weapons etc.,)
Don’t tell yourself that you are too tired and that you will do this tomorrow. Because that isn’t going to happen and you know it. You have to do this right now. You only have to click on it. Don’t let this/shit/life just happen to you. Take yourself seriously. Get a VPN.
Privacy is not a privilege, it’s a fundamental human right
Ok sorry that it’s so freaking long and also sorry for the language, but this is extremely important. Please reblog!
Reblogging again bc this is important
you deserve a more tender tomorrow.
yes, even you. reading this, agreeing without applying, hands in front of your eyes. i'll pass this on, you think, but it doesn't apply to me.
i know because i have spent the last 2 weeks trying to say out loud: "i deserve good things." i only get to "i deserve g-" and then i break out into a cold sweat. who am i to deserve anything? there are people out there suffering. there are people out there who need good things to happen. i don't deserve anything. i am just a person. a filament. if a good thing was supposed to happen to me, i hope it passes over and happens to someone more - deserving.
but just because you can endure the present does not mean it should be something so painful.
you deserve a tender tomorrow for the same reason you deserve water, food, or air. you deserve it for the effort of survival. you are surviving, aren't you? doesn't it take a toll from you, staying here?
goodness and kindness and tenderness should not be a commodity; to be doled out in quantities. you should not feel that life exists as supply-and-demand - your happiness does not come at the cost of someone else. it does not take from some gallon of global happiness. it does not promise that a stranger will have an equally-tragic reaction to tip the scales back into balance.
there is just you, deserving. you didn't have to earn it. there is no calculation of time-enjoyed versus time-spent-suffering.
trust me. you (yes, even you) deserve peace.
So there’s this man. He has a time machine. Up and down history he goes, zip zip zip zip zip, getting into scrapes. Another thing he has is a passion for the works of Ludwig van Beethoven. And one day he thinks, what’s the point of having a time machine if you don’t get to meet your heroes? So off he goes to 18th century Germany. But he can’t find Beethoven anywhere. No one’s heard of him, not even his family have any idea who the time traveller is talking about. Beethoven literally doesn’t exist. (This didn’t happen, by the way. I’ve met Beethoven. Nice chap. Very intense. Loved an arm-wrestle.)
No, this is called the Bootstrap Paradox. Google it. The time traveller panics. He can’t bear the thought of a world without the music of Beethoven. Luckily he’d brought all of his Beethoven sheet music for Ludwig to sign. So he copies out all the concertos, and the symphonies and he gets them published. He becomes Beethoven. And history continues with barely a feather ruffled. But my question is this. Who put those notes and phrases together? Who really composed Beethoven’s Fifth?

How do you think the rest of the Batfam would react if bruce got de-aged to be a kid again? imagine Jason not realizing it's bruce until someone tells him/he figures it out, and by that point, he's already grown attached to the kid. he goes into a hamlet level internal monologue about it when it's revealed.
YES! They’re all little drama babies, but the drama is strong with this one, and Jason would definitely monologue about it. On the inside, sure, but probably out loud at least a couple times.
Barbara would ensure there was photo and video evidence aplenty.
Dick would not be able to get over how cute little kid Bruce is, and he too would ensure he had plenty of things to hold over Bruce for forever. “Hey Bruce, you know, when you were a little kid again you said we should absolutely get another dog so…”
Cass? Obviously little Bruce is the cutest. She enjoys getting him to start rambling about something he’s excited about. She’s already planning how to get him to do that as an adult again because it’s fun.
Steph encourages the consumption of way more amounts of sugar than adult Bruce would ever eat. She claims it’s to combat the brooding of adult Bruce.
Tim? Somehow got stuck with being responsible for feeding Bruce for a day. Did not understand why Bruce didn’t want all the healthy food he prepared. Tim didn’t exactly have kid food as a kid, so has no idea what to feed another kid.
Duke? Loves how many questions Bruce has about his powers and happily answers every single one as Bruce follows him around like a little puppy.
Damian? Horrified when little kid Bruce trips and scrapes his knee and starts crying. He has no idea what to do in this situation, so he imitates Dick as best he can and that seems to work. Also kid Bruce choosing the Superman bandaids over every other kind is not something he’ll be letting his dad forget ever.
And yes, Jason is attached to the kid before he ever figures out it’s actually Bruce. At first he is under the impression it’s yet another child Bruce somehow acquired, but immediately decides this is the best one yet. He is genuinely excited for a new little brother that’s this cute and fun and then he finds out (or figures out himself) that it’s Bruce. Cue internal crisis. Still can’t let himself say no to Bruce wanting to snuggle on his lap during movie time though, and he’s not-so-secretly proud of the fact that he seems to be the favorite. Forever after Bruce returns to being an actual adult Jason will mutter that Bruce was much cuter as a kid anytime he gets annoyed at Bruce.
Alfred having to be the one to stop them from taking little Bruce out on patrol, because the rest couldn’t say no to his too powerful puppy eyes. No wonder Alfred can put his foot down so efficiently with everyone else, he had years going against those eyes. No one comments on how soft Alfred’s expressions get when Bruce is rambling about everything Duke explained to him.
Dick bought one of those kids Halloween batman costumes to dress Bruce in. He’s in full baby fever. Actively arguing with Jason because he’s “hogging” Bruce all day. Jason always replies “I’m sorry that i’m the favourite now.”
Tim and Damian are left to babysit Bruce as everyone e. se does some shopping for the little guy. It is absolute chaos even though they both are trying their best. Bruce somehow got batcow into the house and is riding her. He’s playing pretend that he’s batman. Tim points out Batman doesn’t ride batcow into battle. This greatly upsets Bruce.
Kid Bruce gives so many compliments all the time, because he has no filter, Stephine makes him repeat them and records it. With Barbara’s help they make the recordings everyone’s ring and text tones.
Bruce is not only more verbally affectionate, but he’s extremely physically affectionate. Jason reading to Bruce, he cuddles him as he listens. Dick is so jealous. Tim is making 7 step plans to get Bruce to hug him, meanwhile Cass just crouches down with arms open and Bruce practically throws himself at her. Duke plays Hide and Seek with Bruce, and is totally cheating with his powers because otherwise Bruce is way too good at hiding.
No one tells Jason for 2 days, just introducing Bruce as “Batkid”. He tries to be standoffish, but the kid flocks to him like bee to flowers. He puts it together by dinner, when Damian slips up and calls him Father.
Clark stopping by and is greeted by the cutest tiniest batman ever covered in superman Band-Aids (he puppy eyed Damian into giving him more than he needed).
Yes! And your tags
Because that sums it up so nicely haha
Look man you can't talk about the fluff without talking about the angst, the kids wondering if this is what Bruce would have been like had his parents not died, little baby Bruce asking where his parents are, Alfred being overprotective of baby Bruce and hinding all evidence of the death of his parents
Oh fuck yeah. It’s that type of angst that creeps up on ya slowly or all at once. Each of the kids come to the realization at different times. The longer Bruce is like this, the more often they have to scramble and lie to Bruce. And Bruce isn’t a dumb kid, he’s far too smart honestly, he knows somethings up, but Bruce is still trusting them. And lying to a sweet kid that knows your lying but is accepting it anyways, that makes them feel awful.
Tim talks about it the most, debating with everyone if they should tell him, because Tim can’t pick a fucking side himself. He’s seen how Bruce handles loss. He goes to Alfred to ask about how Bruce was like after his parents died, and Alfred just shakes his head softly. “Most of you did not recognize him. I believe that says enough.” Tim gets him to continue, and by the end of it, Tim almost wishes for Bruce to be back to normal now, so they could avoid this.
All the bat kids watch as Alfred keeps dodging Bruce’s questions, and it takes them a moment to realize it’s not just for Bruce, but also so he can see his son happy and carefree again after so long.
Jason has bonded a bit with Bruce before he knew he was Bruce, letting it slip that he died once, and little Bruce was a sobbing mess, clinging to Jason for the rest of the day. Bruce stating that he’ll ask his dad to adopt Jason so he can keep him safe. Bruce was wailing so loud Alfred ran in with a shot gun, followed by Dick, Cass, and Damian.
Bruce’s anxiety’s growing everyday with no news from his parents, and his “uncle” that’s supposedly “the Batman” (whoever the heck that is) who lives in a cave under their home isn’t around but his countless amount of kids are. Parts of the mansion look different, and Alfred’s letting him stay home from school. None of it is adding up, and Bruce is getting more and more anxious everyday.
Dick is leaning towards telling him, because it’s not fair, he should know. But Jason is firmly in the opposite camp after seeing how poorly Bruce handled Jason saying he died but came back. He knew Jason for a day.
Just stab me in the heart why don’t ya
Maybe Bruce decides it's time travel, like the Twilight zone. Because Damian calls him father and all these kids know him and he's got pictures up all over the walls and the phones are look straight out of Scifi.
Just, baby Bruce figuring out this is the future and thinking they are his grandkids or something or maybe Kate's kids in the future and he's so excited about having a big family and he tells them how he always wanted more kids in the house.
Maybe Alfred tells him his parents are away in retirement, maybe Bruce figures out that this far in the future they might be dead, Alfred is younger than his parents and he looks so OLD.
Oh my god yes yes yes, he calmly asks everyone to come to dinner with these hand written cards (they look terrible). At dinner everyone is so nervous because they all came up with different reasons Bruce called a meeting.
Bruce after dinner says “I know that this is the future, and that I time travelled.” And goes on to ramble how happy he is that he gets to have so many grandkids/kids (he’s still trying to figure that one out) and that his mom and dad would be so happy too. And he’s even happier that Alfred stayed with him for such a long time. And he goes to Alfred and hugs him tight saying “thank you” (Alfred cries that night)
Everyone is relieved but also feels like shit for withholding the truth like this. But now little Bruce goes around trying to do dangerous things saying that he can because he’s older than them and you should listen to your elders. no matter how much Any of them ask him to get down from a ledge with a grappling hook. When dick finally asks him why he’s trying all this dangerous stuff, Bruce says with big eyes that he has to protect his family (and he doesn’t wanna be left out). He also says he wants his own costume (he still hasn’t figured out he’s Batman.) and everyone is covering dick’s mouth before he tries to volunteer.
Just want to add to this headcanon that Bruce likely reads Tim’s genuine hesitation and nervousness (yakno, like kids do)and is slightly wary of him in turn and Tim feels so sad until Bruce walks in on Tim solving a case and cue BIG ROUND EYES and WOAH YOU ARE SO COOL. Tim becomes Bruce’s hero then and it becomes a mealtime ritual that Tim tries to teach mini Bruce how to be a detective and Bruce is so distracted by all these COOL FACTS that he eats all his vegetables (even the yucky ones) without any complaints.
bruce uses these detective skills Tim taught him to figure out he’s in the future and then makes the cards and give all of them the kisses and the hugs
All the vegetables. All the kisses. All the hugs. Yes
