#bootstrap paradox

In this case Pencil would have technically done this, however in this specific situation Pencil wasn't the one that initiated the time travel (I don't think she knew or understood that One wanted to send her back in time) but One did, and it was One's idea, and One had the power that send Pencil back in time.

Usually the way this paradox works is that you get sent back in time (or send yourself back in time) to prevent something from happening, but you either forget about it by the time you get (back) to the future and do the exact thing that you tried to prevent (or the exact thing that send you back in time straight up), making you want to go back to the past again, thus making it a paradox. Or your actions to try to prevent that thing from happening are exactly what leads you to do the things you tried to prevent.

Pencil's situation is a bit different however, because she didn't seem to want to try to fix anything (even if One told her) she just wants to relieve those sweet moments she lived in the past with her friends and forget about the awful future she's been through.

I actually really like this flavor of predestination paradox, where instead of going back in time because you want to change something from the past, you go back in time because you want to relive it's glory. Because of nostalgia, because you didn't like the way the future was, but you don't want to fix it you just don't want to experience the future you were in anymore.

And this made me think. I wonder if that's how the meteorite of yoyleite crash-landed on the algebralien planet for One to find in the first place. Maybe the algebraliens give up their power and trap it in a bunch of rocks then send them back in time, either on purpose or by accident, perhaps with the help of some object technology, or maybe the yoyleite One found in the episode where the time is unstable and the hosts switch up every 5 seconds was enough to send that huge pile of rocks back in time to crash-land. (tpot 15, it's tpot 15)

Like maybe the algebraliens start to think that those powers they have are actually "the root of all evil" or something, or they think they're not good enough at handling them, so they want to get rid of them but by accident or without even knowing at all send them back in time so the paradox is complete.
