We need like âunclench your jawâ posts but for eye strain. Like
Go look at something 20ft away for 20 seconds.
take off your glasses if you wear them for 20 seconds
Recommended by my optometrist
Look at something 20 feet away, then 10, then 5, then one, then if you can your nose.
Repeat twice, then again without glasses.
Face forward look out of the corner of your eye. As far as you can look. Slowly move to the other corner. Repeat twice.
Look down as far as you can. Slowly look up. Repeat twice.
Roll eyes twice.
Close eyes for five minutes.
I do this every day usually at my halfway point. My migraines went away. My vision go better. Honestly stretching my eyes as she put it feels great too.

Mother cats will often take in babies that are of similar age to their own. While her kittens are a week or so older, she is very accepting and took this one without hesitation. Foster queens are often used in rescue situations for nursing kittens, because its much easier than a bottle baby.
And dont worry about the mouth being open - Mama is doing what we call a Flehmen response. Sheâs pulling the kittenâs scent into her mouth to analyze the smell better.

Rating: Cute
You pinged the right blog! This cat doesnt have big feet, they are polydactyl! Polydactyly is a congenital physical abnormality causing a extra toes. While these extra digits can get injured and infected, with proper care these cats can live a regular happy life

aside from the fact that this cat is a munchkin, which is a breed with many associated health issues, this is fine. many cats enjoy riding on roombas.
@is-the-cat-video-cute tagging again youbc reblog notifications arenât consistent, and i just want clarification i remember reading or hearing munchkins were less of a breed and more like a mutation that was usually benign and just sort of happenned sometimes. was i just misremembering or?
Munchkin have been a TICA recognized breed since â94. Many backyard breeders nowadays will produce mixed breeds with Munchkins for cuteness, not caring about health or conformation in any way. Dwarfism can appear in any breed, but being a dwarf alone is not what makes a Munchkin a Munchkin.
Well bred Munchkin are very similar to dwarf breeds in dogs (like all corgi breeds) in that with proper health testing and care they donât have any associated health issues from their specific autosomal mutation and are capable of performing all the natural behaviors of any healthy cat. Proceed with caution as there is minimal research on their form of dwarfism, and follow your breeders lines carefully for symptoms of osteoarthritis, which is the primary concern in the breed but does not appear in all cats.

i saw that you werenât sure what the cat has in its mouth, so first of all i just want to clear up that this is a puree treat and itâs okay for cats to have! it tends to be very palatable to cats. it can be squeezed out of the tube like a gogurt or you can squeeze it out all at once on a dish if your cat canât figure out the tube.
this kitten is being what we call food-aggressive, which means it is really trying to guard the resource of the treat and tell everyone else to back off. the growling vocalizations, flat ears, and striking with the paws are all attempts to warn away the person holding the tube.
you are also correct that this is not a good way to hold the kitten. it isnât secure or supportive, so the kitten feels very unstable; this can lead cats to flail around in a way that makes them very hard to hold safely. it also doesnât let this cat have a good safe position from which to enjoy its treat, which probably isnât helping with the aggression. the best way to administer a treat like this is on the ground, letting the cat take its time.
no one is being hurt here, but this helps reinforce to the kitten the idea that food is a resource that has to be fiercely protected and wonât help at all with future food aggression issues.

Oh. Oh. No stopping for mother until one thousand years.
Or until I say so.
I donât think @is-the-cat-video-cute is taking asks right now and I donât claim to be an expert but. yâall, this is not a happy kitten. Its tail is tight to its belly and the quivering back legs are a sign of tension. Rather than relaxing into the position, it keeps trying to move its head back down from the position the person is (yes, gently) forcing it into as they manipulate the whiskers, which in and of itself is something many cats do not like. This kitten is not enjoying this experience
iâm pretty confident weâve rated this video before but i canât find it! anyway, yes, this kitten is unhappy and overstimulated. the whiskers are incredibly sensitive and the kitten is probably pretty overwhelmed from so much direct contact.
I made another 'please stop destroying my house' toy
i wanted to reblog this as an awesome example of a homemade puzzle toy! i know weâve linked to a lot of buyable puzzle toys, but even if youâre on a budget you can make something great at home with stuff you have on hand. this whole thing is made with cardboard so itâs fine if your cat chews on it and there are lots of nooks and crannies to put treats or dry kibble in!
Goodnight

@is-the-cat-video-cute ? I feel like it probably is but I donât know for sure and want to play it safe cause Iâve never seen a cat do this

Cats like to squeeze their paws together tightly against their face sometimes, especially while theyâre extra cozy or sleeping. My cat Bob absolutely loved doing it, as I affectionately called it âthe big squeeze.â Though thereâs not a super scientific answer to this behavior, itâs theorized cats do it to keep their noses warm, or to feel guarded and secure. Regardless, if you look up âcats squeezing face with paws,â youâll find many cute kitties doing this as they take a nap.

i am not joking we need to force teach cooking in schools. like. it is an essential thing for survival. do you know how easy it is to make things if you know even the bare bones shit about how cooking works. we need to teach teenagers how far you can take an onion and some other veggies itââs sad that people grow up not knowing how to prepare literally anything. and iâm not talking about oh this home ed class taught me how to make chicken nuggets at home iâm talking about learning the balancing of sweetness and acidity and saltiness and bitterness and shit like that and techniques and oil temperatures and how meats cook. it needs to be taught because itâs literally not even that difficult and it matters so much
i truly believe that knowing how to cook is a basic survival concept and the fact that so many people canât even make simple dishes is depressing as hell this is the sorta thing that should be taught at a young age. being able to take the ingredients you have around your home and turn them into a meal is like, essential and will make life so much better. you donât need to be a high end chef you just need to understand some things that can be easily taught⊠but then again maybe the education system is playing a roll against this and ultimately they want you to grow up to rely on mcdonalds for dinner. i donât know. please learn how to cook for yourself if youâre able. iâm not asking you to hunt for specific ingredients to make some expensive youtuberâs âbestâ recipe but if you know the basics of cooking you can do a lot with cheap canned ingredients. cooking can be affordable i promise you just need to learn how to make do with what you can get
Can anyone point me towards resources that teach those basics cus I would LOVE to teach my child this stuff but i dont know how to cook
not comprehensive but heres some:
internet shaquilleâs basics but especially:
making rice
making scrambled eggs
making oatmeal
levels of cooking meat
using & storing vegetables with recipes in the description (this one has a bit of Sassiness directed at people who dont like vegetables but the content is solid)
food safety + a recipe to demonstrate
how to learn to cook (just a list of subtopics, no actual tips)
cooking techniques playlist
how to cut x
basics with babish s1 & 2, but particularly:
freezer meals,
weeknight meals,
kitchen tools (although the specific suggestions are pretty expensive even with the lower end scale items the basic categories are solid, and you can evaluate what items you will realistcially need - eg. if you dont need to read temp for steaks etc the temp reader will not be relevant) &
kitchen care (mid-high advanced home cooking)
basic knife skills
picking the right pan for each recipe
j. kenji lopez-altâs tips and tricks playlist
egg recipes
a little more complicated, involved, and longer than any of the rest of these but good breakdown of flavor & how and why to use the basic seasoning/flavor profiles
and then recipe channels representing various cuisines:
j. kenji lopez-alt (various)
marionâs kitchen (southeast & east asian, western/asian fusion)
maangchi (korean)
future neighbor (mostly korean)
the western supermarket playlist of chinese cooking demystified (more recipes available but these are accessible if you dont have âspecialtyâ ingredients)
family recipes playlist by made with lau (chinese)
not another cooking show (various)
cooking with boris (bear with me here i know he does it exaggeratedly humorously but a lot of them are actually solid and beginner cook friendly. mostly slavic/russian)
you suck at cooking (also falls into the intentionally humorous category but most of the recipes are pretty solid anyway)
how to cook that (baking, also does debunking videos of viral cooking hacks - breaks down the reasons the hacks dont work, pretty important to understand those basics imo)
internet shaquille (various)
babish culinary universe (various)
i REFUSE to recommended joshua weissman because he is fucking insufferable but if you want you can try if you can deal with it, the techniques/recipes seem fine for the most part
again definitely not a comprehensive list but it touches on most of the basics
I honestly recommend cookbooks for beginner cooks (they cost more than internet recipes, but you can get them used without too much agony.
Internet recipes are great, but they vary widely in explanation quality, which is fine if you know most of the techniques, but less so if youâre still learning. Thereâs an extra level of overall organization in edited cookbooks that I take for granted but that can be a lot of help if youâre starting out.
Thereâs a whole genre of cookbooks that are âfor teensâ or âfor college studentsâ which are specifically focused on new cooks without too many tools. Donât be embarrassed to get one even if you are no longer a teen or a student. Theyâre just really useful.
My favourite is âClueless in the Kitchenâ by Evelyn Raab. It leads with a whole section on cooking and kitchen maintenence and it gives the recipes with minimal spices but with instructions about how to add or alter spices in a recipe, so you donât get pummelled with huge numbers of herbs and spices to buy all at once. This copy is $4.
I once won a giveaway for a digital copy of Cooking Is Terrible by Mischa Fletcher, so I feel kind of obliged to try and convince people to buy a copy, but honestly itâs fun to read even if youâre not using it for its intended purpose: learning how to make a decently nutritious meal for not a lot of time, energy, or money.

âI was doing some work late at night and my cat did thisâ
(Source)
@is-the-cat-video-cute is kitty okay?
kitty is most likely okay!
so i know weâre all always super worried about head pressing, which is typically a sign of some major neurological issue. head pressing though is typically against a wall/furniture or some other vertical surface, and it is usually a repeated behavior â so, the cat will be pressing its head hard against the wall continuously, sometimes even sliding along the wall until it gets stuck in a corner. head pressing also typically comes with some other symptoms including vocalizations and disoriented behavior. also, thereâs some force behind the pressing.
this cat is just resting its face against the laptop. you can see that if it were actually pushing down the laptop would most likely tip over because itâs resting on a stack of books that doesnât look super stable.
my guess is that it either put its face down because of the warmth coming from the laptop or it just fell asleep while standing, both of which are things iâve totally seen cats do.
after i got such a positive response last time, i bring you more playlists for studying! hopefully these will tide you through a very busy exam season and i hope you enjoy some of these playlists!

dude chocolate cake recipe asap
here you go bestie!!!
ingredients:
120gr of flour
150gr of butter
70gr of cocoa powder
3 eggs
150gr of milk
175gr of sugar
baking powder (we use a single packet which is around ~16gr)
instructions:
(not necessary, but sifting all the powdered ingredients is the safest way to go) mix the butter and sugar; add the flour and then the egg yolks one at a time; in a separate bowl warm up the milk until it's lukewarm and then add your cocoa powder and mix until well combined; add the milk/cocoa mix to the batter and mix; add a pinch of salt and the baking powder and mix; in a different bowl beat the egg whites until stiff and then fold them into the batter; put the batter in baking tray lined it with parchment paper, or you can put some butter/cooking spray/whatever your preferred method is
baking: we bake it in the oven for around 40 minutes at 175°C, but that will definitely vary depending on your own oven!
once it's out and it has cooled down dust some powdered sugar on top! if you want you could also add frosting on top, cut it in half and add some cream or instead of making a big cake you can make cupcakes! it's a very simple but super versatile recipe!
