In your modern loumand/marimand au, roughly how old is everyone (e.g. louis, armand, claudia, marius, etc.) at the time where armand finds The Video? Have you kept it similar to their canon ages? Alternatively, are their exact ages deliberately obscured?

i’m trying not to be super duper specific bc i want to give myself wiggle room w details since im not the worlds best at continuity to say the least but in my um, timeline doc my hot take is that um. so the current day fic era is in circa february-march 2022, and their birth years are something like 1990 for louis, 1998 for claudia (same year armand was adopted by marius :)), 1955 for marius, and well. armand is kind of um. well. ok he claims to have been adopted at 15 but i disagree. so imo he’s born in 1985ish but he thinks he was born in 1982. the issue with the timelines in this au i ran into like straight away bc the fic wasn’t originally meant to be a series is that i packed a LOT of backstory into armand’s life while making louis 5 years younger so they necessarily had to be a bit older than they physically are in the show for any of it to work, and also louis had to be younger than armand for some of the other timeline stuff to make sense mostly w lestat/armand vs louis/lestat. so i try to keep things a bit vague just bc otherwise ill write myself into corners 😭

this also btw makes the louclaud dynamic way more insane than their canon one because they only have an 8 year age gap and louis is like 22 when him and lestat adopt claudia, who is already 14! like all these timelines are super condensed and the age gaps are weird and such like in my loredoc claudia only lives with loustat for four and a half years too. it’s like. truly a mess 😭just vibes based writing truly

i’ve been thinking about that Allowed To Go Thru Special Doors post since i saw it. the airport truly is so good for this like i can’t emphasize enough how good it feels to exaggeratedly suspiciously make sure that all the badge opened doors close properly behind me while people are watching. like yes im going to your plane NO you can’t come.
