If you’re American will you reblog this with where you grew up and wether or not they had sixth grade camp. I grew up in southern California and every class in sixth grade would take a field trip and go to a camp for a week and this is absolutely bewildering my wife cause she’s never heard of sixth grade camp
Connecticut; we did it in 5th grade. Camp Jewel. It was an awesome week.
Wisconsin, and nope, ours was in high school
5th grade in colorado!!! we called it outdoor lab :D
yeah, fifth grade in Illinois! it’s outdoor ed. and we all loved it!!!
North Carolina and fifth grade.
It was raining one of the days so instead of canoeing we watched a fish dissection. Did you know the heart keeps beating for about 30 minutes after death for fish?
Massachusetts, 6th grade
5th-8th grade, Tennessee
Florida, and either we didn’t get one or mom didn’t let me go
Maine and we did it in 5th at Camp Kieve.
Louisiana, and I’ve never heard of this.
But the closest to what you’re describing sounds like an end-of-the-year field trip, which only lasted for one day, and whether or not your class got to go on one depended on if the school was willing to allow it.
Also Southern California, like OP, but nope! I grew up in Los Angeles, if that makes a difference.
Los Angeles, CA. In 8th grade we did an end of the year trip for a week in New York? But not camp.
New Jersey, Camp Happy Times. It was just a day, though, and it sucked.
