I think most high schools these days have block schedules but my high school had every class every day and the upside of this is you only have to deal with terrible teachers for like one hour at a time but the downside is of course that you need to see them every day.

My school district and the nearby ones also had this high school that they joint owned or whatever that some people only spent half of the day at and spent the other half at their home high school or whatever so since a chunk of the student body was gone for half of the day we had homeroom during 4th period which was the one time when everyone was there. Weird system

Saw folks in the notes wondering how you fit all that into one day. It’s pretty simple, really. Six 50 minute classes a day with ten minute passing periods between each. 45 minutes for lunch and a 15 minute break in the morning. Start at 8am, finish at 3pm. That’s how it worked at my school, anyways. Some folks had an extra class before or after school if they were in band or taking a special class like drivers ed or something. I stayed for 7th period to do my homework in the library and took the school bus home.

i like when fiction treats love as a more complicated force and not something that is inherently pure or redemptive. portray it as flawed and complex as any other human impulse. give me love as prejudice, love as possessive stasis, love as addiction, love as blindness, etc.

hopefully i'll get to do something other than endure soon. that would be really nice

the idea that a sex scene in fiction is fundamentally useless/simply for audience titillation UNLESS they’re fucking infodumping exposition while they bone or something is so funny and myopic to me. like, you really genuinely believe for real that there is NOTHING to be gained about your understanding of a story or characters simply from how they approach and engage in sex? really for real?
