I actually like that the culture around het ships has shifted to be more female dominant but like, its empty and performative because no one actually thinks of the woman=powerful/man=pathetic couple as anything other than a caricature and a joke, and the pegging jokes are just that, jokes, few ppl are serious about exploring that or making content around that. The actual variety in het dynamics is still painfully limited even today, you'll note that in the actual meat of fanwork like fanfiction and how much the male characters get talked about as compared to women etc.
Both the og fawning woman+competent man and girlboss woman+pegged whipped man still uphold the view that there MUST be an imbalance and that imbalance must hinge on penetration, and the more emotional one gets penetrated and is pathetic. Neither will challenge the existing idea underneath. I know its extra hard for people to consider but what if they were both competent. Or both pathetic. Maybe it's the COD fandom with its unique strain of bootlicking but elsewhere too, there are barely any serious explorations of dominant women. 99% of fan content is either mlm (heteronormative) or dominant man x submissive woman in fanfics and x readers. OPs getting pressed over unserious jokes. Don't worry, everyone turns around and goes right back to misogynistic gender roles once the joke's over, there is nothing transgressive about saying women can be pathetic, spoiled and penetrated by a competent man.
