I dislike the way that people dance around the oppression of women when it comes to conversations about history. Lots of people acknowledge that women were seen and treated as property, but the horror of that experience is rarely conveyed. When teaching about women's rolls in ancient cultures there is always that comment about women not being able to own property, that they were property themselves, and were expected to be submissive to men. But what does this actually look like?
It looks like rape. Like mothers being seperated from daughters. It looks like being forced to cohabit with and serve an owner who will force himself on you and breed you like stock. It is the sadness of miscarriage and the realisation that your body won't hold up. It's mutilation and violence. It's watching the deaths of your friends knowing that none of them lived a truly happy life. It's watching your daughter grow up knowing that she will be sold into servitude and raped until she dies, the same fate you face. In some cases you didn't even have a name.
Women's oppression is the oldest form of oppression, and yet we are still so strongly gripped by patriarchy that there is a refusal to acknowledge what that actually means. We have barely even started earning our rights in the west, and our sisters still face the terror of what I have described above. Women are always one step away from losing everything, and yet the movement meant to fight for women's liberation is being overun by men and misogynistic women. It's easier for them to uphold the status quo than challenge it.
Women need to learn their history, the grim and horrifying reality of it. The truth of our existence under patriarchy. If we don't seek out this truth, then history is doomed to repeat.
I keep on seeing this one post floating around talking about how becoming a radfem made them miserable and I wanna be nice but... take the L ladies. Life's so much better when I can put a name to misogyny. Or cutting ties with porn supporting male friends. I'm more will I need to call out things that make me uncomfortable, I'm actually excersising(mostly because the prospect of endometriosis has put the fear of god into me), I'm generally more extroverted... I'd need a control group to prove my theory but being able to call out misogyny just makes everything in life better. The only thing I've lost from being outspokenely a radical feminist is one or two male friends and like... is that even a great lost? Feeling worse just seems like a skill issue here.
in the increasingly conservative-leaning global sociopolitical climate that we live in it's important to remember that "subversive" does not automatically equal "good" or even "better" lest ye become what i like to call a Temporarily Embarrassed Contrarian

more women with short spiky hair plz
late 90s >>>>>> anything we got going on today
Women who depict our oppression as inevitable, natural, and DESIRABLE characterize this depiction as acceptance. They act like itβs a clear-eyed recognition of reality, that they are acquiescing to ancient forces beyond our control. 100% itβs a form of avoidance. Avoiding the brutality of acceptance. It simply makes no sense that accepting that men are stronger than us and have massive webs of power to control us and that they are vicious and sadistic, often, in interpersonal relationships and on a mass scale towards women alike. Would culminate in some freeing passive bliss. Itβs just a way for women to cope. They want to pretend like what is happening is okay. Like if youβre abusing substances, itβs easy to lie to yourself that you do so because you recognize how things are and accept who you are. What differentiates addicts in recovery vs active addiction is whether theyβre coping by pretending the cruelty of their circumstances gives them access to some unique bliss, or whether they accept theyβve been coping with punitive circumstances via self harm.
Every time women adapt in order to overcome the strength disparity between us and men as a way to defend ourselves in a worst case scenario or avoid danger altogether... That adaptation comes to be seen as a sign of cowardice by men.
Poison being a "woman's weapon" in a disparaging sense. Self defense laws expecting people to act in ways that are only really accessible to men and women who choose to strike at a later time being demonized. Gossiping to turn the community against him and seek refuge that way (plus making sure no other woman is blindsided by his behavior) being seen as trashy.
More modernly, leaving someone over text being considered a terrible and inconsiderate thing. I remember this being a plot point in so many cartoons and tv series for tweens growing up. It's so insidious to brainwash girls into believing they owe someone, usually a guy, a "dignified breakup" when that has so often gotten women killed. I dunno, men trying to socially punish women for not playing their honor games when they've never acted honorably towards us has been pissing me off as of late.
he should be in prison for life wtaf
this man is unspeakably vile, but I feel like what is being slept on is the other men who showed up to a strangerβs house ready to (supposedly fake) fucking rape her without ever having interacted in any real or meaningful capacity. like i find cnc disgusting and amoral but fundamentally there are couples in the world who do it and there isnβt really much i can do about that, but these are people who have met and interacted in real life and agreed to do this. these men showed up to that womanβs HOUSE never having seen her or heard her voice, going off of fucking tinder messages, which any child can tell you can be easily faked. like they knew that there was a significant chance this was dodgy, they just didnβt care, they wanted plausible deniability to do what they wanted to do anyway.
The guys who do CNC are the same ones capable of this kind of atrocity. There's no world where you're aroused by rape and raping the person you supposedly love while being a respectable person whose suicide wouldn't benefit society. Stop kidding yourselves with this "consent" nonsense who excuses everything; your suffering gives him an erection.

razor companies normalizing body hair to advertise removing body hair π
one thing i find really exciting is that weβre among the first generation of women who never marry or have children, and with that comes a completely new blueprint
in past generations, virtually every woman was relegated to wife (slave) and mother (the most thankless job in the world) by 25
weβre going to be the first generation of women who can genuinely dedicate our lives to hobbies, travel, intellectual pursuits, meaningful careers, skill building, cultural immersion, fitness, volunteering and female friendships
itβs beautiful β imagine just how much women will be able to accomplish now that we can live life for ourselves, unburdened by marriage, motherhood and a patriarch in our homes controlling us or exploiting us domestically/sexually/mentally/emotionally
and, of course, we will keep fighting until all our sisters globally are freed
Interesting how the average person needs to be shown countless studies, surveys and statistics to (maybe) start considering porn as an evil woman-hating industry, like βteen whore gets what she deservesβ, βforced oralβ or βlatina abuseβ doesnβt ring any bells
*tittle and imagery invoking female degratation* *Woman clearly uncomfortable/unaroused/drugged* *Solely women categorized by race, age, profession, etc*
βHoW is it BAD for WoMen I donβT SeE it It is All aBout CoNsEnTβ
What I cannot understand is these SAME people will call for a show to get cancelled for the slightest misuse of woke language/clumsy attempt at inclusion/a problematic tweet from someone adjacent to the show from 5 years ago, but continue to defend porn.
The P*rn industry is the most racist, misogynistic and everything -phobic thing there is on this world but hey, it helps ppl jerk off, it canβt be more harmful than that tweet that celebrity made 10 years ago.
Men prioritise their orgasm and lie that there is such a thing as ethical porn.
