that video of the straight girl asking why lesbians don’t just date men if they like masculine women has almost 500,000 likes. and there seems to be thousands of comments saying they agree and they were wondering the same thing and saying that lesbians even buy strap ons which makes it more confusing….ughhgggghhgggughhhgghh I fucking hate everyone
it has over a million LIKES now btw. not views. LIKES. fml
Fandomites will be like "the omegaverse is often used for complex explorations of gender and parenthood" and the complex explorations in question is often extreme fantasy misogyny through the compelling lens of "what if men were harmed by the patriarchy the exact same way women are and also every misogynistic ideal is somewhat true in this universe"
i see the words "feminine energy" in an instagram post and i report it for terrorism
it’s also funny as fuckkk to me how males only seem to acknowledge misogyny and femicide when the perpetrator is a different race. suddenly they understand misogyny perfectly when they can pin it on “immigrants” or males of a certain race, acting like those are the only guys killing and raping women.
misogyny only exists to them when it’s a convenient tool for their racism but the absolute second the perpetrator is a male from their own race, it instantly flips to “not all men”. suddenly misogyny is something women just ‘whine about’
it’s incredibly convenient how fast it stops being a male violence issue the exact moment the perpetrator looks like them lolol fkn lousy losers

The word pussy has never referred to female genitalia when describing someone who is timid and cowardly by the way. It comes from the word pusillanimous. I’m begging Twitter feminists to stop tittering smugly about how they do this ultra feminist girlboss role reversal thing where they call men ballsacks because those are the more fragile set of parts. “Pussy” was never talking about your body parts. You are the only ones doing that. You are making the biggest fools of yourselves please stop
There are two different words involved:
Pusillanimous comes from Latin pusillus ("very small") + animus ("spirit, courage"), literally meaning "small-spirited" or cowardly.
Pussy has a much more complicated etymology. Historically, it was a pet name for a cat (attested since the 1500s), and later became a slang term for female genitalia (attested by at least the late 1600s).
When pussy came to mean "a coward" (mainly in American English in the late 19th and early 20th centuries), linguists disagree about the precise pathway:
It may have developed from the sense of "cat" (suggesting someone timid or easily frightened, like a scared cat).
It may have been influenced by the vulgar term for female genitalia, reflecting sexist stereotypes that associate femininity with weakness.
Some scholars think both meanings reinforced each other.
What there is no evidence for is that the cowardly sense is derived from "pusillanimous."
The resemblance between pussy and pusillanimous is almost certainly coincidental. Etymologists do not trace one word to the other, and major dictionaries such as the Oxford English Dictionary and the Merriam-Webster do not derive pussy from pusillanimous.
The "it comes from pusillanimous" explanation has become a popular internet myth because it avoids the sexist connotations of the insult, but there is no historical linguistic evidence that this is its origin.
thank god someone wrote this so i didn’t have to. “waah they’re saying weak as balls and they look sooooo foolish,” you got upset abt it enough to make a post spreading easily searchable misinfo brother you also look triggered and dumb
Also, even if it was originally etymologically related to pusillanimous rather than the slang term for female genitalia, men are using it with that association anyway, so it would still be an insult rooted in misogyny.
Exactly! The roots of the words are sometimes very important, sure, but I don't think Josh, Kevin, Martin, and Danny are using the world bc they know what the fuck a pussillanimous is. They just know people use it for vaginas and to insult and they like that it's both in one. Therefor, the word is NOW sexist, regardless.
one thing that bothers me to no end is this very popular unspoken notion that misogyny is skin deep. "transwomen experience misogyny because they look like/are women, transmen dont because they look like/are men" type of thinking.
they really dont believe that misogyny is deeply rooted into how the world around us developed.
i suppose it isnt validating to think about how no amount of hrt is going to change how a heart attack presents, for example.
Men don’t actually like it when women enjoy sex as much as they do or even more, because to them sex is an act done upon women not a shared experience. When they say they want a woman who matches their sexual drive what they mean is that they want a woman who agrees to participate in sex as often as they, men, desire, not when she actively chooses so herself. They immediately lose interest or get confused when a woman is an eager initiator, because men are not used to seeing us as people with desires and feelings and not sexual objects.
top ten benefits to not wearing makeup. number one i can cry 3 tears whenever i feel mildly sad and then be done with it and move on. number two not putting the money i earnt hour by hour into the pockets of a joysucking evil misogynist multi-millionaire who’s millions only exist because of the insecurities he forced onto millions of women and girls.
downsides: when men say “i like women without makeup” when they somehow find a way to communicate with me
being able to hear someone criticizing your behaviour or something you like whether it's music or tv shows or a restaurant you like or clothes or whatever and not immediately collapsing emotionally or responding as though you're being physically attacked is one of the most important skills to develop and a sign of maturity and resilience. if you react like you're a caged animal every time you encounter someone who doesn't like something you do or dislikes something you like or just straight up doesn't like you that needs to be addressed if you want to grow as a person and not live in a constant state of insecurity. if you assume that someone disagreeing with you or disliking something you like, especially if it's an opinion on art and media, automatically impacts your worth as an individual or makes you react the same way you did when you were 5 and another kid didn't want to play with you that needs to be addressed idk what to say it's time to develop some resilience

like genuinely people on here have such a weird worshippy fujo gender envy view of cisgender heterosexual men actually just cisgender men in general like hello? stop this madness u sound so dumb 😭
“the intricate rituals of men touching each other” bruh please just exit the stage just go 😭
Saw someone on insta say it’s misogynistic to make fun of love island watchers
my long time conspiracy theory is that the huge prevalence of "dead wife" trope is because a lot of writers want their cool male protagonist to be single and/or focused on his goal but don't know how else "justify" him not pursuing women around him sexually or god forbid turn their advances down that is not emasculating in their mind

I have to get louder about pointing out misogyny in fandom and you 🫵 should too

Women lowkey live in a mass fawn response and while most understand that male aggression like rape, coercion and abuse is obviously patriarchal and harmful, we've still internalized that male aggression is natural and proof that a 'worthy' man truly, undeniably desires a woman. And that's often why ultra masculine or morally corrupt coercive male characters/dynamics/kinks end up so popular. It's a way to experience being desired by scary powerful men but not the true consequence of that violent coercive desire.
It's like wanting to have our cake and eat it too, which is somewhat possible when it comes to fiction, but systems of oppression like patriarchy don't care why you like male violence, or in what form you accept it, as long as you like and accept male violence. As long as women continue to feel desirable using patriarchal dynamics, in any and every form, the system lives on.
One of the best ways to immortalize a system is to incorporate it into sex culture, so now every criticism becomes very easy to dismiss on the basis of personal freedom, pleasure and popularity 💔
Ciswomen get really mad when you tell them medically abusing transsexual men is worse than when they have sex and don't like it and that if they don't stop doing that you will subject them to sex they don't like.
