The pandemic decimated workers so hard that there literally isn't enough longshoreman to unload boats which is leading to an internal collapse of the supply chain. It seems that ignoring covid because only 1% of people die was a completely idiotic and downright homocidal idea that has done nothing but kill laborers and ruin the economy.

Because of all the mass death, labor is seeing a surge in its power, but at what cost truly. I hope w/ the coming wave of strikes there is finally some grappling with the fact that millions of people senselessly died so that the ruling class could continue exploiting poor workers. There wasn't any sacrifice, this was mass murder.

Not just mass death, also mass disabling. Someone who works in an office at a desk is going to have a more manageable time returning even with reduced lung capacity and stamina than someone in intensely physical jobs like being a long shoreman. I keep seeing people saying that the 600,000+ dead aren’t coming back to the labor market, which is true. But it leaves out a vast number of people who aren’t dead and are also never coming back to work.

There is a small child in this cafe writhing and screaming with such violence and rage that they keep running out of breath and coughing. The source of her rage? Her mom asked her to eat a single grape.

It’s like misogyny and toxic masculinity have associated Starbucks with women and femininity and pumpkin spice lattes to the extent that even men who aren’t openly shitty still feel the need to preface their order with “yeah this is for my girlfriend” or “my wife told me to get-“ and men who are able to order without this extra step distancing them from the “femininity” of ordering a blonde vanilla latte or a strawberry refresher are probably dudes who (at least kinda) respect women and are comfortable in their masculinity.

stop humiliating fat children/fat teens/fat young adults/fat adults/fat folks in general. stop questioning/speculating on our food intake, our energy out put, how our individual bodies must feel, what our health is,etc.

used to date a guy who was 6'4 and I'm 5'2 and one time we were arguing and he took a picture of me from his eye level to show me what I looked like from his perspective and honestly that was so disrespectful
