I'm just saying, if you're going to worldbuild magic being a "raw, primal force, akin to and interweaving with nature itself" you gotta explain to me why animals don't use it
I always love the idea of "innate" magic in animals and nature. Rabbits disappearing and reappearing to avoid a predator, bears with roars loud enough to be heard miles and miles away, flowers that grow lush even in winter, fish that can change color and shape based on the water temperature, etc.
I think if magic is baked into the fabric of reality, the animals themselves are magic.
