So I was sitting here wondering oh my god by what miracle is this that Perry the objectively more niche Human Platypus is winning against hyper popular objectively more mainstream Spamton G Spamton in this Tumblr sexyman poll.
To be honest when I saw Perry against Spamton I lost hope. I assumed Spamton would absolutely smoke Perry the Platypus. I was holding onto the optimism that it was at least fun to get to be part of a fandom art prompt. If that's all that happened I'd be content with that joy. But no he's actually leading and he's kept a solid lead all week. I saw Spamton fans say this wasn't fair for SPAMTON. As if it's obvious Perry would beat him. That actually surprises me.
It's because the Perry fandom is actively posting propaganda (which is technically part of the "game") and I actually haven't seen much propaganda for Spamton. Shockingly. I searched him up and you don't see any posts about him in the sexyman competition aside from reblogs from the poll itself. Maybe there is posted propaganda but it's just not showing up when I search 'Spamton' or look at top tagged
Whereas with Perry the Platypus/Human. If you search Perry the Platypus the first post you see is a comic about the poll with links to Perry and Doofenshmirtz's polls. If you search Perry the Human you're eventually going to find the red carpet prompt drawings that multiple perry the human artists (including me) were invited to draw. There's a recent post that's a fake magazine cover of H!Perry and Doofenshmirtz posed as Tumblrsexy man 2026 (nominees). Then someone else added a fake interview. Again links to the polls added to the post.
So the reason Human Perry is pulling through despite Spamton being the more popular hot topic character, is because of the Tumblr community making and sharing art. That's why it's winning. It's a community effort that's keeping Perry in the lead. (Doofenshmirtz doesn't need help lmao)
