Season 2:

“Anansi”- Only necessary for DjWifi’s romantic scene, where Shell-ter is used as essentially glorified scissors. Verdict: Not necessary. Ladybug (JadeBug?) would be fully able to do it herself, or do it “traditional way” (defeat Anansi, then cast Miraculous Cure, which would also free Alya from Anansi’s web) 

“Sapotis” - Platonic Alyanette was cute, but Ladybug could just give Fox Miraculous to Chat Noir to unify with his own, so… Verdict: Not Necessary.

“Maledictator” - Ladybug was unable to break through mind-controlled blockade on her own, while Chat Noir got kitty-brain-ed, so he was unable to help her. Verdict: Necessary

“Heroes’ Day” two-parter - In-Character, Temporary Holders were necessary, due to Ladybug wanting as much people as possible against Scarlet Army. Meta-Wise, their only role was to get akumatized by Scarlet Moth to (very cheaply in my opinion) “increase the stakes”, but even their Akumatized Forms just dind nothing except looking dangerous, then being taken out by group of random Parisians. Verdict: Technically Necessary

Season 3:

“Startrain” - Markov was doing actual “helping”, while Pegasus was majorly just tagging-along, so Markov, PegaBug and Chat Noir would be sufficient team against Startrain. Verdict: Not Necessary

“Desperada” - Without saying. Verdict: Necessary

“Party Crasher” - Viperion, Carapace and Pegasus (along with Chat Noir, but he isn’t Temporary Holder) did semi-decent job of containing titular Akumatized Villain before Ladybug arrived, so they get “Verdict: Necessary”, while King Monkey wouldn’t be necessary if Ladybug arrived with Rena Rogue (Rena Rogue deceives Party Crasher with illusion of Ladybug, then LadyBee venoms him from behind), so he gets “Verdict: Not Necessary”

“Ikari Gozen” - DragonBug would be able to do exactly the same thing that Ryuuko used to defeat her akumatized mother, so… Verdict: Not Necessary

Season 4:

“Guiltrip” - Ladybug could just use Lucky Charm to escape Guiltrip, destroy his Amok, then easily defeat Reflekta (if latter didn’t just willingly give up her Akumatized Item) Verdict: Not Necessary

“Crocoduel” - Ladybug and Chat Noir would easily defeat Crocoduel if they just used Space Power-Ups (and either of them could use unification if Tiger Miraculous was absolutely necessary) Verdict: Not Necessary 

“Queen Banana” - Vesperia did basically the same thing that Chat Noir always does (annoying Akuma of the Week, then getting taken out in retaliation), so… Verdict: Not Necessary

“PenalTeam” - There are two ways to defeat titular Chloe’s newest akumatized form: 1) Snake Noir and Lady Macaque (my name for Marinette’s Ladybug/Monkey unification) do exactly the same tactic as Miraculous Team canonicslly used, but just by herself 2) Pegabug tekeports hersrlf and Chat Noir out of dome, then he cataclysms PenalTeam’s akumatized item, thus bypassing need to fight with her entirely. Verdict: Not Necessary. ALL of Temporary Holders

“Gang of Secrets” - Ladybug could just unify Ox Miraculous with her own, and she would be able to literally defeat Gang of Rehashes just by herself with song on her lips (even if it would be “Smelly Wolf”)

“Wishmaker” - Verdict: Necessary (even if it was for unnecessary side-plot about Luka finding about Ladybug and Chat Noir’s civilian identities)

“Strikeback” - Only necessary Temporary Holder was Flairmidable (if only Ladybug somehow deceived Felix with fake Miraculous Box that is full of wax miraculous, then his part in episode would be perfect). Rest of them were not only unnecessary, but their only role in episode was to indirectly empower Strikeback. Verdict: Necessary for Flairmidable, Unnecessary for rest of Temporary Holders.

Season 5:

“Evolution” - Alix became Canigirl after Ladybug and Chat Noir had perfect opportunity to take ALL of Monanch’s Miraculous from him after he fainted, so Verdict: Unnecessary

Powers: Mari-Chrome's touch removes "bad" personality traits from "good people" and vice versa. This also caused them to change into either light-colored ("good people") or dark-colored ("bad people") version of themselves

Caused by: Marinette being in "denial phase" about "World not being just black&white"

First of all, people seem to only think as far as "Adrien will have a complete meltdown", but never seem to think about why. Sure, Cat Blanc and Ephemeral exist, but in both of those episodes, the revelation gets unceremoniously dropped on him and exploited in the same moment. Of course he loses it, anyone would. In The Collector, where he's given the information away from Gabriel and his fuckwittery, he takes only a few seconds to collect (heh) himself before locking in. Like, Adrien isn't inherently some fragile baby, he's just in an emotionally unsafe environment, something no one in his life besides maybe Alya seems to be doing anything to help with.

Second and most importantly, it would've hurt a lot less if Marinette just told him in the first place instead of going through this whole brouhaha? Now it's not just his dad being terrible that Adrien has to deal with (something he was already aware of, btw), but also the fact that Marinette broke his trust.

Bunnyx accidentally (or not) baited Marinette into "If Bunnyx didn't come to me screaming that 'my actions have doomed whole Universe, then I made right choice, and other choice was bad choice that would doom the universe"

"Ladybug"-style fake-out we can cross-out, because Akumanette is visible on-screen

But I do imagine that Luthor does start to think Superman might actually have a secret identity, but who? And then it hits him. The only person it could possibly be. Bruce Wayne.

It makes so much sense, Bruce Wayne is arguably the only person close to his net worth, he seems like a clueless playboy but ALL his companies are successful. He takes plenty of trips to metropolis, and the confidence level is basically the same. Not to mention Bruce being in a different city, superman can hear danger from all over the world, of course by being based in Gotham no one would EVER suspect he was superman. And from what he heard, Bruce Wayne is super flaky and always vanishes at random times, sounds very familiar.

So I imagine one day after another clash with Superman, Lex says.

"It took me some time but I finally figured it out. I know who you are."

Superman is surprised and it looks like Lex isnt bluffing. Could it be possible? He was so careful.

"It seemed so impossible, but once I realized it, it was the only feasible explanation. You look practically identical. And with all the ways you challenge me of course you would do it as a civilian."

Superman tries to say something but Lex continues.

"But it matters not, because I will best you as a hero and as a man, Bruce Wayne!"

Superman just stops.

Its quiet.

It would honestly improve a lot if this was the case, like imagine Chat Noir destroying the akumatized object and catching the akuma in his hand, almost looking as if he’s crushing it. But a burst of light shines from his hand, and he opens it to show an un-harmed, pure white butterfly. This way Marinette doesn’t have to be in every episode and Adrien, who’s supposed to be the show’s deuteragonist, can get more time and episodes focused on him.

And how does he get this ability this far into the series? Maybe he gets an idea and fiddles around with his powers of destruction, using them to specifically target and destroy the corruption. Maybe Black Cat holders usually have to figure this out for themselves, because Plagg sure isn’t going to give all of the information upfront.

The mentor of the hero fighting the Villain, who is revealed to be a former student of the mentor.

Maybe the villain was the first student, maybe it was the mentor's child, maybe both. But the mentor to the hero trained the villain to be crazy powerful, but was blind to the monster the villain became.

Bonus points if the villain felt betrayed by the mentor, maybe they were part of the reason they turned evil.

It is true that we value efforts more than victory (in theory). The time and energy, and more importantly the fun you had are the most important thing, especially when it's literally a game. There's always only one first place, so focusing on that can lead to frustration, toxicity and obviously, lack of fun.

But the issue with this ep is not Marinette's effort (or lack of), it's her motivation. That she had a selfish goal and didn't care abt the dreams she was crushing to get it.

But honestly judging who deserved winning just on that is ridiculous, and a bit puritan (if it's the right word). It's not a shonen where the ones who believed the most in their dreams won.

If multiple people apply to a job and you get chosen, should you feel ashamed bc it was a competitor's dream job but not for you? Of course not, you have your own life. Yes, you should be considerate to others, but you also have to live your own life.

And this person legitimately said, "Oh, so you like it better when the girlfriend saves the boyfriend and not the boyfriend saving the girlfriend."

Which, first of all, did we forget Riposte exists, but secondly and more importantly, I remembered that 90% of Ladrien hate is just internalized misogyny.

It's "strong guy & weak girl" side of Love Square, where in worst case, Marinette is practically "at Adrien's mercy"... at least in theory.
