Its first trailer introduces itself with a '27 years before the end of the world,' the bombing of Revachol is an event set in stone in canon and we learn more about it in Sacred And Terrible Air. Ignoring that intent from the creators and arbitrarily blaming 'dumb westerners' for engaging with a core ethos of the work (that world will die, but it doesn’t give you an excuse to give up on it) (defeatist reactionary nihilism vs. hope) is simply disingenuous. Also disrespectful to other fans.

You may laugh at this, but in the evening, when the big world behind swells into a bloody maelstrom, in Vaasa families come out into the street and are insignificant together. Only distant explosions disturb the deep peace of the winter night, its flawless starry sky. Everyone is watching, heads tilted back.
