I’ve said it once. I’m saying it again. I’ll say it 500 more times. Gay tails are hideous on poodles.
Celebrate gay pride. Not gay tails.

Sorry for the absence y’all, my disabilities are getting harder and harder to deal with. The boy and I went for a tough 2 mile walk/hike. He loved it. Me? Not so much. Mr. Handsome’s getting in shape for weight pull training! Gonna wait till I can get his OFA elbow/hip ratings done, but in the meantime we’ll just focus on stamina and strength. If anyone wants to help us get his weight vest that would be the coolest ;P

Y'all ready for my first unpopular opinion?
I hate seeing children walking dogs. I think it’s dangerous and irresponsible to let your child walk your dog especially if its unsupervised.
Just random thought because I saw a video on fb and it reminded me of the post from a woman who let her daughter walk her bulldog and it for free and killed the neighbors cat.
And also just thinking bout the time a kid was walking a gsd in the park and the second it saw me and Ellie it was out if her grasp and running towards us.
Idk just sittin around thinkin
Walking down the road after school when I was 13 and the neighbors handed the leash of their boxer to their toddler in the front yard.
Seconds later I was on the ground with the dogs teeth sunken into my arm.
Yeah.
Don’t let kids walk dogs.
Kids walking dogs makes me wanna tear my hair out, I do not need the kid dropping the leash and albus deciding to fight the dog
Kira has a warning from animal control because of a kid walking a dog.
This family down the street from us has a vicious little Yorkie who lived 12 years of his life indoors with absolutely no socialization. The couple lets their 11 year old daughter walk the dog, and even though he’s tiny and can’t pull away from her, it still caused us a lot of trouble.
Kira isn’t dog aggressive, but she sure is apprehensive. One time my dad and Kira were passing this girl and the Yorkie, and the dog just lost his shit and started snapping and snarling at Kira. The girl panicked and dropped the leash, and the two dogs got into it, resulting (obviously) in Kira overpowering the much smaller dog and injuring him, a tiny but deep puncture in his shoulder. It bled quite a bit, or so we were told.
Later that day the parents came down to our house and said they took their dog to the vet, who, of course, were mandated to report a dog bite. Both dogs were put on a 14-day rabies quarantine, and Kira now has that bite permanently on her record.
So yeah. Don’t let kids walk big strong dogs, don’t let kids walk aggressive dogs, don’t let nervous kids walk any dogs. If the kid can’t physically keep the dog under control (and most cannot!), just don’t.
I have a vivid memory of being dragged face first down the entire length of my driveway by my childhood dog(I had the leash wrapped around my hand). My ribs hip and legs were skinned and bruised. A child walking a dog is also dangerous to the child. It’s just a bad idea.
I remember when I was like 10 or so, I was taking my English mastiff out to go to the bathroom. Now she’s a well behaved dog and, well, and English mastiff so it’s not like she expends enough energy to hurt anything often and she’s usually pretty good on a leash. She takes a half an hour to get off the couch. We call it The Ooze. We live on 4 acres of land in the middle of farm territory so we don’t exactly deal with aggressive dogs. We have one very friendly fluffy white dog that walks past every day and that’s it.
But she weighed more than me. And had no actual training. I don’t know why, but this day, she decided that she wanted something in the corn field…. That was through a small orchard of apples… Many of which had fallen because we weren’t taking care of our trees properly. So she was on a retractable leash… And she started running.
Now I’m sitting here watching the world’s laziest dog book it twords something in the field…. If I don’t let go, she’ll drag me like a sack of potatoes. If I let go, we may never get her back and she could get hurt…. Not that it’ll matter much if she’s pulling me behind her like it’s nothing anyway. But I don’t let go because I don’t want her to get hurt…. And she hits the end of the leash and I go flying, as expected. But I still don’t let go! So she’s dragging me across the 4 acre plot through half rotting apples and fallen branches to get to the neighbor’s corn field. I finally let go because she’s a mastiff who doesn’t exercise and she’ll get tired enough to come back in a minute. And she did, perfectly fine.
But I was pretty banged up and in some serious pain because I didn’t want to let go because I didn’t want her to get hurt. I never had a problem with her since, but she still hurt me because I did not have the physical capability to hold her back, nor the higher thought to LET THE FUCK GO as it turns out… Because I was 10. I should have never been allowed to handle that dog until I was strong enough to physically restrain her.
Thinking back now, we really should have put her in weight pulling classes, she would have done great!
^^^^this. god I hate people letting their kids walk dogs. my mom let my friend and me walk our dal mix when I was 5 and she pulled us along like rag dolls. we start panicking, and my grandma drives around looking for her, only to find that she’s attacked a dog and their owner. dog needed stitches, and the owner needed emergency care for her hand. all of this could have been prevented by not letting little noodle children walk an aggressive dog.
If anybody on the godforsaken planet can help me use the jbradshaw website to enter Mission Circuit that would be great. The real reason why millennials aren’t getting into the dog world is because we can’t use your stupid website that you made in 1998.
This is for mobile, but does it help?

Being abused made me such a “good kid.”
I was
Always polite
Never acted without permission
Never spoke out of turn
Always did what I was told
And it’s shitty that I was considered mature and praised for those things, and all of those characteristics have translated into me being an immature, “bad adult.”
Now I
Have difficulty making a keeping friends
Can’t act without permission/am dependent on others for direction
Am terrible at communicating
Have no agency/personal compass
It’s a really difficult thing for people who were abused as children to grapple with. What made us good children make us bad adults.
I am Autistic, and Autism Speaks does not speak for me
I am not a burden.
I am not a mistake.
I am not missing a piece.
I am not a disease.
I am not something that needs to be cured.
I am not something that needs to be fixed.
I am not something that needs to be prevented.
I am autistic, and Autism Speaks does not speak for me.
Autism Speaks has SUPPORTED families of autistic people that have abused, and even murdered, their autistic child because they are “too much of a burden”.
Autism Speaks is a board made ENTIRELY of neurotypicals - Autism “Speaks” does not speak for autistic people, they speak for themselves.
Autism Speaks is a hate group.
Autism Speaks tries to instill fear into the minds of others to try and target us as dangerous.
As tragic mistakes.
As something that can be prevented.
But do you know what?
I am autistic, and I am perfect.
I am autistic, and I am human.
TELL IT TO ME STRAIGHT: DOES WATER REALLY NOT TASTE BITTER SO SOME OF YALL?
@lay-some-hate: Depends? Water can taste bitter if you’re having some stomach issues and/or the source isn’t clean. It may also have too much fluoride or bleach. It can also be hard water… (Were I live you can’t drink tap water but it still is treated with bleach to make it safe for human consumption and it gives the water a weird taste some times)
Most of the water around here is safe to drink from the tap, but like. Even then, and even when it’s been filtered again, it’s always at least a little bit bitter tasting to me
And apparently with most filtered water is not the case with most people??
Filtered water is tasteless o.o the only times I’ve tasted something bitter in filtered water is when I’m having a bad case of halitosis >>;;;
yeah, water is supposed to taste like nothing, if it has a flavor to it theres definitely something wrong with it…
All water I’ve ever had anywhere has been gross to me. Freshly fallen snow tastes gross to me and I highly doubt that that is because of the water pipes in America. I know multiple people who can taste water very strongly. Some people don’t some people do. I unfortunately do and it’s not a good taste :/
Bruuuh I’m autistic and water is hell for me. It’s disgusting and makes me nauseous lmao. It’s so bitter and metallic??

Profile Picture vs Tagged Photo
I got this idea off Facebook, what about your dog?!
Profile picture
versus tagged picture
dog play
okee dokee y’all, so I’m gearing up for a new pup soon (not really but some time this year) and I was wondering how y’all handle a dog that plays really aggressively. yuma’s an absolute asshole when he plays, he’ll latch onto them like a leech and drag them around the house. obviously I’m not okay with him doing that with a puppy so any suggestions? we’re working on teaching him to play softer but short of that we have nothing :/
tudorose poodles
hey y’all, do any of you know people with dogs from tudorose? I haven’t been able to find many that I’m comfortable conversing with and I’m on Jac’s list for a suitable sd prospect when one happens to come (proper temperament, energy level, structure, etc) and I’d like to talk with some people who own or have owned a dog from her
fox pelt question
hey vultures/taxidermists, where do y’all get your pelts? I’ve been unsuccessful finding anywhere to get morph or ranched foxes for taxidermy and I don’t really understand how auctions work, nor do I have the time to monitor them. I’ll see some for sale from sellers who market ranched foxes but I have no clue where they source their pelts by a specific name :( I’m just really picky and I wish I had a better way to find mountable pelts
Diagnosis advice??
Alright y’all, I need some help. My rheum is saying that there is no chance I have lupus and that I have fibro but I don’t agree at all. My symptoms just aren’t explained by fibro or really many other conditions:
- Butterfly rash
- Brain fog
- Joint pain
- Mouth sores
- Photosensitivity
- Anemia
- Chest pain/inflammation
- Protein in urine (proteinuria)
- High ANA titer (1:1280)
- Homogenous, speckled ANA
I was told “20-30% of the general population has a high ANA like that.” I waited months for my appointment and was told to come back in 6 MONTHS for a follow up since “nothing was wrong.” She promised to send off referrals for an endocrinologist and PT and we waited another few months before finding out she never sent off either and the physical therapist she referred me to doesn’t even exist. I’m so frustrated. What do y’all think? Should I seek a second opinion? Do I even bother fighting for a lupus diagnosis? I’m just so tired of all this. First it was “just my depression,” then it was “me making it up,” and then “me not drinking enough water.”
boosting this because I really need some help 😔

hey there!! so, ive got a question about mites. i recently stumbled across a blog where the owner keeps putting their snakes in their yard, in trees and on the ground. (this is not to call anyone out, by the way) isnt this like a big fat "dont do that"? when i was in 6th grade i had a young corn die shortly after i'd taken him outside. just wondering. thank you!!!
As long as there are no chemicals used on the yard, and there is little fear of predation, and the temps are ok, it is safe to bring your snake outside. You just want to take care to watch behavior, of course, to prevent stress, and be sure to consult your vet if you have an albino/leucistic or lighter colored individual, to prevent eye and skin damage from reduced melanin.
Snake mites are very rare to happen upon in the wild as the eggs require a specific humidity (85% or higher) to hatch, and adults are rarely found anywhere but their hosts :)
My yard is infested with mites, how unlucky do I have to be 😓 I went out with one of my snakes for 5 minutes and they were crawling all over me. It happened twice. So I guess maybe watch out if you’re in the PNW?
Mites are a naturally occuring species of arthropod that is a term for any small aracnid (many, but not all being in the tick subclass). It’s highly unlikely those were Ophionyssus natricis aka reptile mites. Unless you were actively holding a snake with mites it’s basically impossible to have multiples crawling on you, so I wouldn’t worry.
I thought snake mites were native to Africa so it would be pretty unlikely to get them from your yard?
They might have been avian mites. Birds get them a lot. Crap knows I cant get a couple chicken chicks out of their high up nest and onto the ground with their mama without the dang things swarming my arms.
@the-long-dog @xxleondraxx @wheremyscalesslither They were 100% snake mites sadly, our vet confirmed and our enclosures were absolutely swarmed with them. They just riddled the bottom of the cages and when we held any of the snakes we’d find dead ones rubbed off onto our skin. The snakes knocked over their water dishes basically every time we’d change them and we’d find them floating in the water. We hadn’t had any prior mite issues at all before bringing them outside but the second I brought one outside they were jumping onto us from the grass. I still shiver when I think about it, I can’t forget how horrible it was having mites basically fling themselves towards us lmao. No mites after halting every contact the snakes had in the yard or outside in over a year, so it is possible, but I’m just the extremely unlucky fellow.
