Last song: I’m technically the “DJ” at my job since I lent my Bluetooth Speaker to the Kitchen. So, I play a lot of random Spotify playlists I don’t know the songs 50% of the time. Spotify is saying it’s “All Time Low” by Jon Bellion, which I know nothing about. The last song I liked was “Dark Side” by SkyDxddy which I would love to draw an Animatic with.

Currently watching: I am currently on a movie binge with my s/o. We are watching the Hobbit Trilogy after finishing Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Also, I been watching him play the new Yoshi game, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, for the Switch 2!

Current obsession: Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. EVERYONE IS FALLING FOR CROSSHAIR HELP! Except Mimi and Hunter who IMMEDIATELY hit it off and made the 60$ on the game worth it. They are the only two married with a child.

Currently reading: If we are talking about actual books, then I’m reading Star Wars: Low Red Moon, Star Wars’ Bad Batch: Sanctuary, and refreshing myself of Homer’s The Odyssey before the movie comes out. Sadly; however, I don’t really have much time reading actual books right now. So I been also reading short one shot fanfics/headcanons.

Currently working on: the Star Wars Fanfic I been writing which STILL doesn’t have a name 😅 I need to come up with a name before I post the official first chapter. Also, my Drawing Every Day Challenge. Making lots of fanart of people’s OCs and will post more soon.

Last Google search: “Substitution for Garam Masala”. My job makes tikki masala chicken and it’s probably the most popular item on the menu and we been out of garam masala for weeks. It’s been hell and if another shift lead yells at me for not being able to make it, I will throw hands.

Peggy only having the vague memory of Marie as a teenager, mourning the stranger, only to be slammed with the worst possible outcome.

Peggy Campbell Weaver being an outsider to an outside stepfather's family. Her mom's husband, per @its-been-rose .

Peggy, who has been on her own since she was a teenager. Who is only roughly 28. Two lives spent being lonely.

Peggy, who had no idea about her nephew. No idea that her sister and 'that boy' got together like that.

Peggy, who sounded like she sympathized with George even when the town said he was violent.

Peggy, who goes out with her coworkers and friends to drink at inconvenient times. The little umbrellas everywhere? Skipping medical work training? Was she worried she wouldn't be able to save the emergent like she seemingly thinks she failed her family?

"I'm just shocked she recognized her after 20 years and a baby." Again, per Rose. [:(]

Of course she would. Even with the vague memory, that's her sister. Marie, who last Peggy saw, was at her absolute lowest. It probably didn't look to different from seeing her in the gym. Filthy from the night's chaos. Feral by emotion and loss.

The image would be plenty different than her memory, but the important parts are still there. That curly hair, the deep, intense eyes. The same blue-ish color as Peggy's mother. We know she certainly remembered that woman.

I do find it so interesting she showed so much sympathy to George when the narrative she grew up on was “he was a violent delinquent who accidentally killed himself because he was stupid”. She saw him for what he was, a kid, when everyone else stripped that part of him away.

She’s still so open and emotional despite what happened to her.

I guess that’s the parallel between her and Marie (though their traumas are not really comparable as Marie witnessed an incredibly traumatic death firsthand and was branded as insane and a liar after, where Peggy did not have to see her parents die and both times there were warning signs, but they were still both heavily traumatized and left to fend for themselves, even if Peggy most likely had access to some sort of inheritance)

Marie has removed herself so far from who George knew, that it would only make sense to bury that young woman alongside him.

And, if the spirit of George were there to watch, he would mourn her. He died with his perception, and now his afterlife is spent on loving the woman circumstance has made Marie.

Along with the Change of Plans AU, it's like a torch passed on. George loved Bean. Marie, who would have been Barrow. Forrest is learning his love for Marie Campbell-to-be-Nash.

She stopped being that girl when she let herself get consumed by grief, when she lost hope her life would be anything other than an extension of George’s legacy, when she threw away her humanity in exchange for clinging to memories that didn’t even comfort her. They just made her more miserable.

In a post canon context, the funeral was a way for Peggy to come to terms with the competing truths of Marie then and now, as a girl and as a monster. It was long overdue time to say goodbye to that girl.

And yeah. If George’s spirit was there, he’d get it. He mourns the partner he lost in death, too. That person in the white mask was not his love.
