a soul's trait can be changed via an influx of determination. asgore's sprite is shown as yellow / justice but was changed after "the incident" when he was desperately trying to prove himself as right

The Egg / Forgotten man is there to provide proof or evidence that the dark world is real

The punch card with the three people Susie draws is done in both routes, meaning that both could be the one canonical to undertale

the flowers mention various features that they "chose" to look more human, which could mean that Ralsei intentionally modeled himself after Asriel on purpose

Noelle and Kris clip out of bounds at the end of the WR. Part of this is an extension of the theory that hometown is the entire deltarune world, and nothing outside of it exists. another point leading to this theory is the fact that sans has you draw on a punch card, and the punch card in undertale can be used to go out of bounds and sequence break parts of the game. there's also the bread item you can get from sans in the WR, in the original Mother game, there was a glitch that relied on using bread crumbs to warp to an invalid coordinate on the map which allowed the player to walk anywhere on the map. Interestingly, the original way to perform the glitch was patched in the English release, but people found a way to do the method at the Reindeer train station

it's still not totally clear who made the first fountain in the school, obviously the dark world in chapter 5 is super similar to the one in chapter 1. however ralsai comments that the black shards were "left at the original scene" and the only two chapters we for sure know Kris made the fountains are the only two where a shard didn't exist in at all (in chapter 3) or was already there (chapter 5)

the knight is an amalgamation of kris and noelle's actions during the weird route. the determination of the soul gives them the ability to manipulate time the way that asriel / flowey does in undertale. people are also speculating that the creature in undertale's unused room "room_water_redacted" could be the amalgamation of the two of them, and the gaster diologue in "room_gaster" where he says "what do you two think" is actually directed at kris and noelle, not sans and papyrus or sans and alphys

there was a second fun gang before our group based on dialogue that suggests that Asgore got his shadow crystal from the cyber world years ago. and ralsai admits he didn't know about it. so maybe the original gang was asriel, dess, and friend

"roots" is a reference to the root directory in the game files. the "tail" the children followed is the cursor. "tree" is a folder tree and many of those folder trees make "a forest".

ralsei is a tree. with the new lore that flowers aren't quite darkners due to being living plants but not being quite lighteners due to not being "alive", and have special and unique powers because of that, people are now speculating that Ralsei is a tree with a root system that spans all under the town, which allows him to show up in any darkworld. some have also wondered if he is what "roots" is referring to

chapters 4 and 5 state that the shelter is south of town, but it's sunset over the lake, which is east… so is the map of hometown actually messed up?? does the path to the bunker actually loop around down?

Susie is going to tell noelle about how the dark world could save her dad and either noelle's going to crash out at Susie which would ruin her escapism (or drive her more into it) or noelle's going to create a dark world in the hospital and create a version of the true lab

kris is going to try to commit suicide via golden flower seeds like chara did

deltarune runs on "last thursdayism" which is to say nothing existed before chapter 1 and everything and everyone are running on false context and fake memories. a good example of this from the new chapter is Susie knowing that sans and papyrus' house is new, but not being able to remember what was there before

kris is actively dying when the soul isn't in their body. at the start of the normal route, their hands are a grayish-yellow. some also things this is a point to the theory that kris is our discarded vessel

kris is intentionally hiding part of the hometown map from us
