Would you like to do a collaboration with us?

Just a little dm question..what could go wrong, right? That’s what you thought when you got the message from Sam and Colby via Instagram.

Just a small little dm asking for a collab. It wouldn’t be that bad. After all you three were excellent paranormal investigators and had lots of experience. However you felt a little reluctant as soon as they mentioned the conjuring house.

The request to go to that damned house with Sam and Colby was the only time you felt like you should really think it through. The conjuring house was no joke. Ever since you were a teenager and watched the conjuring movies, you felt like something about that place just screamed ‘stay away’.

However after a few days of thinking, you just answered with a more or less confident ‘yes’ to the request and that’s how you got to the conjuring house with Sam and Colby.

“What’s up guys, it’s Sam and Colby!” Colby spoke into the camera that Sam had balanced on a tripod. “Today we’re taking a chance and exploring the conjuring house…for a week” Colby replied, adding the last part in a serious dramatic whisper.

“But because we can’t get our asses haunted alone, we brought backup!” Sam exclaimed excitedly and pointed towards you. “The collab you guys have been waiting for is finally happening, we’re here with Y/n!”

“Yay” you smile nervously into the camera with a rather unenthusiastic expression. The house behind you three was giving you chills and not the good kind of chills.

“Not so excited I take it?” Colby raised an eyebrow at you and Sam also gave you a small expectant expression. You were put on the spot.

“Can you blame me? I’m not really thrilled to encounter some demons tonight…especially not in that house” you sigh back and cross your arms over your chest with an uneasy feeling settling in the forming pit in your stomach.

“I thought you were a thrill seeker?” Sam questioned and smiled in amusement when he saw how nervous you truly were of the encounters.

“I am!” You defend yourself with an exclamation before grumbling a little defensively. “that still doesn’t mean I don’t get scared sometimes”

“Valid point” Sam nods back while looking back at the camera before walking up to it and grabbing it off the tripod to hold it and film more freely.

“Let’s get this over with” you murmur more to yourself than to the boys but they of course heard it.

“That’s not the right spirit, but we’ll take it” Colby shrugs in response and Sam nods while you three make your way into the house where the owner awaits you already.

A contract.

You need to sign a contract. “Does this really say that I won’t sue them if I get possessed?” You question with wide eyes while reading the details.

“Uh huh” Colby nods while writing his signature on the line of the contract and Sam does the same. You reluctantly write yours too on your contract and give the clipboard back to the owner.

“I just signed my soul away, didn’t I?” You remark with a grimace while staring at the living room door now inside the house.

“That’s the fun part” Sam replies with a small snicker before you three enter the living room of the house. “You sign your soul away so the demons can’t steal it” he adds as a joke.

“Very funny” you roll your eyes while sighing a little and looking around the room with sharp eyes, watching for anything that seemed…well paranormal. “I still have a bad feeling about all of this” you stand there watching the room with a growing uneasiness.

“Yeah that never goes away” Colby sighs with a small nod in your direction while positioning their equipment on the coffee table. He turns on an emf reader and it shortly spikes to red when he picks it up and points it into your direction.

“That was a fast response” Sam gasped excitedly but also a little shocked and when the emf spikes again to red while in your direction, it makes you feel even more uneasy.

“That’s a response I’d rather not have gotten” you just reply back and shiver a little when a cool breeze wafts through the room shortly. “Stop pointing it at me please” you tell Colby, but it’s not a question, more like a small command.

“It never went to red that fast” Colby just replies and points it away from you into another direction and the spike goes sown back to green.

“Well that’s not calming me down at all” You respond shaking your head with a nervous grimace while glancing around the room.

“You’re usually not that skittish” Sam observes while filming with their camera and pointing it at you briefly. He clearly noticed your odd behaviour, you almost seemed paranoid here when he never witnessed that with you when he watched your videos.

“I’m also usually not in a haunted house with this kind of bad energy” you reply and jump a little when a thumb is heard from behind you. The sound surprises you, makes your heart race and you walk a little more to the middle of the room. “I feel like we’re being watched” you looking around with an almost paranoid look in your eyes. A panicked one perhaps.

“Relax, nothing is gonna happen to you” Colby reassures you or rather tries to. “But if you want to take a breather before we begin the investigation, then we can go outside for a minute” he suggests in an understanding tone.

“No…I’m fine. I just want to get this done to be honest” you sigh back and run a hand through your hair with a heavy sigh.

And that’s how you ended up in the basement with the two. At a wooden table in a small room down in the most haunted spot of the whole house.

“Scared” Colby says while wearing the headphones for the esthes method that are connected to a spirit box.

“Scared? Who is scared?” Sam questions with a frown while you are sitting between Sam and Colby.

“Woman…she” Colby replies, repeating what the box spits out through his headphones while it switches through different radio channels.

“Me?” You ask back and immediately know it’s you that the box meant with being scared. To be honest, you had trouble hiding your shaky hands.

“Yes” is the answer that Colby gives to your question after hearing the word from the spirit box. “Very” he adds.

You nod a little, even though you couldn’t see anything since Sam had the brilliant idea to turn off the light of the camera and turn on the night vision so the viewers of the video could see everything but you three couldn’t even see your hands. “Can’t argue against that” you sigh back a little.

“Where are you?” Sam questions to any spirit here in the basement and you suddenly feel a shiver run down your spine like a sixth sense for being watched.

“Near” Colby replies, saying what he heard.

Your eyes dart around in the small room until they catch a really dark spot near the entrance. “Y/n” it whispers in a breath ever so quietly that you almost didn’t catch it.

You nearly fall off your chair when you hear it whisper your name.

“Woah” Sam quickly stables you by grabbing your shoulder gently to make sure you don’t fall off your chair.

The jolt from you had made the table move a little, which pulled Colby out of the esthes method. “What was that?” Colby asks and takes off the headphones and blindfold, putting them onto the table and looking at you with concerned eyes.

“I would like to take that breather outside now, please” You just breathe out while Sam turns on the light on the camera again and catches sight of your wide eyes.

Day one

About a week had passed since the last time you had to accompany the boys to any haunted location. Now they had the, as they call it, brilliant idea to go to the conjuring house and spend a week there.

It was not the fact that they are spending a week at the most haunted location in all of the US that made you worried.

No, because it was apparently not the first time they went into that house and it made you concerned what would be awaiting you if it so happens to become dangerous.

After all you couldn’t let anything happen to your boys.

No matter how often you tried to get them not to spend that week in that damned house, eventually they just shut off the spirit box and silenced you that way, which was a little too hurtful and somehow gave you a spine chilling flashback of your ex-husband aka your murderer.

Upon arriving at the house you could see a little figure at the upper window of the old wooden home.

You grimaced once noticing it wasn’t really a child. Sam and Colby didn’t bother turning the spirit box back on and you knew they wouldn’t listen to you either way.

“The spirits have been asking about you” an older lady came out of the house, wearing a shirt with the conjuring emblem and you could see it was some kind of employee uniform. You couldn’t believe someone would purposely work here.

“Really? The first thing that greets us is that sentence?” Colby glances over at Sam who simply shrugs in response with a hint of an amused but also slightly surprised expression.

“Man, I can’t tell if the odds are in our favor right now” Colby laughed a little nervously and you had to keep yourself from giving them both a slap to the back of their heads for doing this.

But alas this was their job after all. It could be worse..right?

Once having entered the house of that menacing movie, you stood a little further away in the corner of one room. A couple who‘s names you already forgot claimed to be able to speak to a ghost named Abigail in this house.

Abigail was supposed to be a good ghost, but alas you would be the judge of that yourself. After all you have never met these people before.

So when suddenly footsteps are heard as those two people start touching their hands you frown a little but are fascinated by how fast they had gotten a response from this Abigail woman.

You look around a little bit and suddenly see a woman standing next to you in old victorian clothing. She has a gentle smile on her face while looking straight at you. Her hair is pulled up in a bun and you jump a little from how she just suddenly appeared next to you.

While jumping as you get scared, you accidentally bump into the wall a little and create a dull thump which lets Sam and Colby looking over to the wall with a frown.

“That wasn’t Abigail” the woman of the couple explains shaking her head and you glance at her with a bit of suspicion. How can she claim that Abigail didn’t make this sound without being able to see you?

“How’d you know?” Sam inquires curiously and frowns a little in response while holding the camera.

“She only makes footsteps or knocking sounds and that thump sounded like a small accident” the woman shrugs and keeps holding hands with her partner.

“That must’ve been Y/n then” Colby sighs a little through his nose giving Sam a look. Although they both are grateful you are with them and protect them from bad entities, this was getting a little bit concerning.

“Y/n is basically our ghost Mom. She’s our guardian angel. Comes with us whenever and wherever we go, to protect us and make sure we don’t get any bad attachments” Sam explained as he noticed the confused expression on the woman’s face.

The couple nods slowly at the explanation and you can’t help but feel a little out of place by how annoyed Sam suddenly spoke of you. Maybe you did overdo it a little bit by being extra protective.

You sigh heavily and glance at Abigail with guilty eyes and she gives you a reassuring smile of her own.

“Don’t worry. Children are hard to handle sometimes” she comforts you and then steps closer to you. “I didn’t mean to scare you” she apologises for her earlier sudden appearance next to you.

“You just caught me by surprise” you sighed softly and gave her a gentle smile back as well. You were worried about Sam and Colby for a good reason, but at least this Abigail didn’t seem to be dangerous in any way.

Now after a very disturbing session of the couple talking to Abigail, you meeting Sam’s grandmother Libby and Sam needing to get out of the house for a while as he cried, the boys both start their solo investigation.

Luckily they didn’t yet have the brilliant idea to split up, but then again you wouldn’t have to choose if Abigail was also there.

But it was a little hurtful to hear Sam and Colby tell Abigail to protect them and follow them around. It was your job. Not hers. It was your job to protect your boys, to make sure they are safe and yet you had to remind yourself that those two are not your biological children. And that hurt even more.

At least Sam had the decency to reactivate the spirit box for you to talk to them. You sighed in relief of that small action, it finally didn’t feel like they were shutting you out anymore.

“Hi” you finally manage to say after a short moment through the spirit box. It makes Sam and Colby smile a little to hear you again through the device that Sam is holding in his hand while Colby is filming.

“Hey, Y/n..we’re sorry for shutting you out. We just needed some time for ourselves” Colby apologised for their stupid and hurtful behaviour and you smiled happily. They finally were letting you speak with them again and you didn’t feel like keeping quiet any longer.

“Understood” the spirit box spits out after a while of you smiling softly and then speaking.

“See I told you she’d understand” Colby gestured at Sam with a smile on his face while he films everything. “Now we just need to get her to come with us into the basement” he smiled sheepishly and you could feel the hairs on your arms and neck stand up at the mention of that ominous basement.

A displeasing shiver ran through your body and you shook your head while Abigail winced a little at the mention of the basement. She wasn’t exactly a fan of that place either.

“Don’t know, dangerous” the spirit box said on your behalf and you couldn’t help but worry immensely at how they just casually mentioned going to the basement for their investigation.

“We know it’s dangerous, but we need you” Sam pleaded a little and his words made you think it through. They made you actually consider going with them because they would he going down there regardless of what you tell them.

“We need you” was what made you look back up at the both of them even though they were unable to see you or hear you other than the spirit box. Those three words made your mother instincts bubble up again and you sighed heavily.

You couldn’t leave them now. So with a heavy heart you four (Abigail included) made your way down the creaky staircase into the basement of the conjuring house. You felt as if you were suffocating by how bad the energy was down here.

“Bad energy” the spirit box told Sam and Colby which was obviously coming from you behind them and you made sure to keep an extra watchful eye on both of them and the surroundings.

“Yeah it doesn’t feel good down here” Sam shivered a little and you made sure to keep an eye out for any shadows or entities. When you saw a shadow sprint past you four, you felt a rush of fear and immense protection wash over you.

“Shadow” the spirit box suddenly spit out in a more deep voice and Sam almost dropped the device knowing you weren’t the one who said that through the box.

A shiver ran through you when you saw nothing but could feel the presence of something bad.

That something was not happy Sam and Colby were paying it a visit. You were about to say something when you felt a rush of bad energy next to you and you barely even needed to look to your left to see what was standing there.

A tall black figure. No more than a silhouette standing next you and somehow you could tell it was grinning like the cheshire cat in a dark and twisted way.

“Shadow. Out of here. Now” you told Sam and Colby through the box and you hated it more than ever to not let you speak full sentences that fast.

“We can’t leave now, we just got here” Colby shook his head and Sam nodded in response while they went further down the hallway and then turned right into a small room with a table and chairs.

You didn’t like the hole that was in the ground and covered by a wooden plank. It was pure evil that lingered down there waiting to strike.

“Careful” you told them over the device as they sat down and took out the equipment for the estes method. You winced a little seeing Colby be the first to try it once more. You hated it when he was the first ever single time they did this.

“Yeah yeah, we’re being careful” Sam mumbled sighing a little while Colby got under the slight trance of the spirit box estes method. At least you could still talk to them.

“Is anything or anyone down here?” Sam asked slowly as they started the session, obviously trying to get something to answer them.

“Yes. Multiple” Colby answered while holding the spirit box in his hands and listening to it switching loudly through the radio channels to with the headphones connected to it.

You grimaced at the mention of multiple spirits down here and you took a guess they weren’t friendly except you and Abigail. “All bad” you told Colby over the device and he repeated it for Sam to hear it as well.

Coming into the crescent hotel, Sam and Colby were glad to know you got attached to one of them a year ago.

Not to mention the relief they felt to be safe and sound with you near them all time on investigations wherever they went. To be honest they both think it was the right thing to do when they let you come with them.

Even if that meant leaving your home and the stories about a ghost in that house in your little village where they found you. The caretaker of the house wasn’t that happy knowing you left with Sam and Colby and nearly sued them because of it.

They eventually could soothe the caretakers worries and paid a good price to not get sued by said man who was outraged loosing his best attraction of entertainment which you found rather funny to watch since he didn’t know you were with Sam and Colby anywhere they go.

Once in their hotel suite both Sam and Colby immediately get the equipment out of their bags to communicate with you through them.

Meanwhile they do that you sit on the bench at the end of the bed. The red leather cold against your hands as you touch it.

“Hello there, fair lady”, a voice appears beside you making you scream out of surprise which knocks over Colby’s bag on the bench.

“Woah there, easy Y/n” Colby laughs and places the bag against the bench so it can’t tip over the edge again, wouldn’t be fun to have broken equipment. “Someone’s seems excited”

Meanwhile Sam had turned off the spirit box as fast as he turned it one because of your scream.

“I’m guessing we have an unexpected visitor”, Sam whispered to Colby while you stared at the man in front of you. Cowboy hat and everything that fits to the description of a Cowboy. He wasn’t ugly per se, rather young and in your age.

“You look like you’ve seen a ghost” the Cowboy winks at you with a playful smirk reaching out to touch your arm but you slap his hand away with a swift movement of your own.

“No touching” you narrow your eyes at him before standing up and touching Sam’s arm to let him know his statement about the unexpected visitor is correct.

A cold but also warm shiver runs through his spine as you touch his arm while he looks beside him knowing you’re on his left now.

“Okay let’s try something” he mumbles while thinking what to do with the equipment not very keen of having this unexpected visitor even if they are technically in his suite.

He turned on the spirit box again and one word immediately got through to them from you.

“Cowboy” it spit out in a rush as you couldn’t help but sound desperate to let them know who’s here with them except you.

“The Cowboy is here, huh?” Colby raises an eyebrow turning around himself to look at everything in the room still not knowing where that spirit is supposed to be as Sam asks questions.

“Where is that Cowboy, Y/n? Can you tell us?” Sam questioned looking to his left where you stand. You watch the Cowboy sit on the bed making it dip a little while he winks and smirks at you still in a playful attitude and not bothered that you had slapped his attempt to touch you away.

“Bed” the spirit box said and sometimes you could definitely throw that thing against the wall because it only picks up certain parts of your sentence when you talk to them. It’s getting rather annoying to only communicate in single words.

“So he’s on the bed” Sam concluded and glanced at the king sized bed in the middle of the room seeing the slight dip on one side of the bed before grinning at Colby. “That’s your side of the bed then” Sam laugh in his face pointing to where this Cowboy supposedly sits.

“Ain’t no way, man! I always get the cursed side” Colby groaned in annoyance at Sam’s proposition of him sleeping right where the Cowboy had apparently a favourite side of the bed.

“And I always get the attachments” Sam reasons raising an eyebrow at his best friend making Colby sigh and nod slightly in agreement. It only seemed fair.

“So you’re Y/n?” The Cowboy ignored Sam and Colby completely as they both tried to get him to answer questions over the spirit box. He only had eyes for you in that moment and that’s not very uncommon for him to flirt with female guests or touch them, only difference being you can see and fully hear him.

“No, I’m none of your business” you tell him crossing your arms over your chest rolling your eyes. You weren’t in the mood to get hit on by a ghost playboy and neither were you prepared for that.

“Oh but you fairly are, darling” He winked again before standing up and said word ‘darling’ got picked up by the spirit box making Sam and Colby frown a little as it was said by a man’s voice.

“Hey, Cowboy asshat! Stop flirting with our Ghost mom!” Colby crosses his arms over his chest while Sam nods in slight surprise at Colby’s wording of things.

“You do know that this is his room, right? And you’re sleeping on his side of the bed?” Sam whispered to Colby making his hard expression falter slightly in realisation of the upcoming events. He was screwed.

“Oh man…” Colby muttered letting out a small fake cry at his realisation of probably being cursed now by that Cowboy.

Later on they both decided to go down into the ballroom for further investigations.

The music they decided to play was a soft tune nearly coming into the background as more spirits came in curious about what this music is all about and why it suddenly began playing again.

You smile at Sam and Colby as they both laugh and spin each other around while dancing together on the wooden floor between the standing tables of the grand room.

The cat balls on the floor lighting up every few seconds since there are some curious ghost children moving them a little bit.

Sam and Colby had never gotten this much activity in one day. All thanks to you and your communication skills, or so they thought since you didn’t once say a word to any of the ghosts.

“Are those your boys, ma’am?” A middle aged woman asks you coming up beside you with a gentle smile. Her style was rather…victorian while he had a hand on her son’s shoulder.

Your head turns towards her with a surprised expression since you didn’t know it could look like that.

“S-Sorry? No, they uhm..they aren’t” your expression falters a little into sadness being reminded of your son’s in your husband’s hands and how he had took them away after killing you for whatever reason there was to perform such a cruel and brutal act.

“Oh I’m sorry if that hit a nerve, dear…why don’t you go dance with these peculiar males?” The woman smiles gently at you and in a way it was comforting to speak with other ghost’s in here.

Not all spirits were bad.

You just shake your head laughing a little at the thought of you dancing with them. “I don’t dance” You smile softly before feeling a little hand on the back of your knee trying to push you a little into the direction of Sam and Colby. “And who are you, you g gentlemen?” You smile down at him.

“Excuse his behaviour, usually he’s rather behaved and polite. What do you say to this nice woman, Timothy?” The woman glanced down at her son with a mild scolding expression in her blue eyes making her son take his hands off your knee.

“S-Sorry, ma’am…I’m Timothy” he mumbled glancing down at the wooden floor boards while fidgeting with his little fingers out of embarrassment of how he had acted just now.

“It’s okay, Timothy..I guess I should go over there” you smile softly and briefly bend down to touch his shoulder before walking over to Sam and Colby dancing with them.

It felt like a mother-son dance instead of a father-daughter dance once they both felt your presence near them on the floor. They smiled at each other before looking in the direction where they figured you’d be standing and dancing right now to the soft music.

“We’re dancing with our Ghost mom” Colby laughed happily as they both laughed together making you smile even more.

Y/N: this is gonna end in a disaster

Sam: that’s very optimistic

Colby: no, brother this is gonna end in a mess

Y/N: *turns to Colby frowning* that’s exactly what I said

Sam: No it’s not, you’re optimistic, he’s realistic

“What’s up guys! It’s Sam and Colby” Colby said into the camera which got held up by Sam. They are standing in front of a small house.

Your house to be precise. You are standing in one of the upper windows looking at them confused by what you see. Why would someone come here? Do they know something?

You can’t help but frown at the two YouTubers who oddly remind you of your sons.

“Today we are gonna explore the haunting of the blood house” Sam smiled into the camera and pointed to the house behind them.

The white facade of the wooden planks was splintered and looked abandoned. The porch was worn out, a rocking chair on it in the corner up front. It still looked like it was cared for though.

“Blood house sounds as scary as it is. Apparently there was a family of four living here. A wife, a husband and two sons. But one day, the husband decided to kill his wife, the reason for that is unknown…” Sam started explaining your story as they slowly walked up to the house.

Colby pulls out the key to the house which they got from the care taker. “Since then the wife is supposedly haunting this place and she doesn’t like men because of what her husband did to her” Colby finishes explaining.

He unlocks the door with the key to the house and gets inside. The interior is similar to a cottage. Old flare but combined with modern decorations.

They start the investigation. You follow them through the house as they start walking to the dining room. A shiver runs down Colby’s spine. He can feel how this is place is probably near the one you got murdered in and he is right.

“So apparently the wife got murdered in the kitchen…” he mutters seemingly trying to make sense of the situation. He feels like he is being watched. Same goes for Sam who is currently holding the camera. “I feel watched-” Colby turns around to Sam just in time to see a shadow walking around the corner which makes Colby stop mid-sentence.

“Oh my god! Did you see that?!” Colby exclaims and points behind Sam. Sam turns around in confusion shaking his head. “I swear to god there was a shadow” Colby explains.

“Bro we just started this investigation..what the hell” Sam muttered contemplating if he should believe Colby or not.

Colby nodded in response maybe, just maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him. Then he started to smell something. Lavender..or no wait, rain maybe? Or both? “Do you smell that?” Colby sniffed the air two times doing a turn. The smell was still there.

“Smell what? The burned wood and pine tree?” Sam asked sniffing the air as well. The mention of two completely different smells is what confused Colby even more. Colby’s blue eyes focused on something as he smelled Lavender mixed with rain. He could see some kind of blurry silhouette behind Sam.

“No I mean the Lavender and rain..” Colby answered his best friend and blinked a couple of times thinking it was just his vision blurring. He rubbed his eyes trying to get the blurriness away behind Sam and surprisingly it worked.

You stood behind Sam, not knowing who these guys were or what they wanted in your house. Usually people would whisper and talk behind your back about what happened here. These guys came in for a change and are filming so it must be pretty serious for them being here.

“Let’s get the equipment out” Sam suggested and tried to ignore the fact that both him and Colby smell something completely different and that Colby just stared at Sam for five minutes like Sam was an alien or something.

“Right” Colby nodded and got the music box as well as the spirit box out of Sam’s backpack.

Immediately after calibrating the music box and putting it in the doorway of the dining room it started playing the song making the light on it blink with each turn of the handle.

“Woah..it never does that so quickly” Sam muttered in thought staring at the music box which doesn’t stop playing. Obviously because you are standing right in front of it.

Colby got the spirit box out turning it on which created a loud static as it switched through radio channels, making you jump out of the way of the music box in shock at what Colby did.

The music box stopped playing.

“Huh maybe she got scared” Sam observed as the music box went completely silent. “Let’s ask some questions” he suggested and turned around to face Colby with the camera.

You stood besides Sam now who picked up the smell of burned wood and pine tree stronger now. He didn’t say anything though.

“Is anyone here that would like to talk to us?” Colby asked the first question as the box switched loudly through the channels to pick up what you’re saying. You’re waiting for the box to say something not knowing you gotta say something in order for it to tell them that.

No answer.

“Weird” Colby muttered and turned off and on again in his hands. You inspected the device he was holding genuinely curious about all the stuff they got sprawled on the dining table.

Normally you would hate all men that come inside your house. But they were different. You could feel the calm and curious energy around them.

“Is anyone here that wants to talk to us?” Colby repeated his prior question.

“Maybe” you told them and the box said it for you.

“Maybe? So not wanting to talk but there is someone here?” Colby asked to clarify that answer.

“Yes” the box said after you told them that answer. You were standing face to face with Colby who obviously couldn’t see but even if he could, he would be so concentrated on asking questions.

“Okay…are you Y/n?” Sam asked and you looked at him then nodded, but he waited for an answer of the box. You sighed and spoke a “yes” which got then said through the box. It’s a bit annoying how they can’t see you and always wait for an answer through the spirit box.

“So far so good..” Colby muttered before continuing to ask questions.

At the end of the session they had all the answers they needed for their video and still they wanted to get to know you or they just apologised for what you’ve been through in the past.

“Thank you for talking to us today, Y/n” Sam thanked you for the evidence they got through the spirit box and music box. They got a calm energy to them, something that you didn’t think you would miss.

“Yeah thanks for answering. We know you don’t exactly like men, so thank you for not possessing us” Colby joked a little and to your surprise it was funny so you laughed a little.

You hadn’t laughed or smiled in what felt like decades. It was strange how these two young men changed you in just one night. It felt like you finally had your sons back even though Sam and Colby are not related in any way.

It feels like home again.

Then you saw how they started packing up their stuff indicating they have to leave. You didn’t want them to leave. You didn’t want to loose them, they felt like your family in just a short time and you wouldn’t be able to bear another loss of your family.

“Don’t go” came through the spirit box as Colby went to turn it off. He stopped. “Stay” you said through the box again. Colby looked at Sam with wide eyes. Sam just nodded.

“We’re sorry to leave you, but we gotta go” Sam reasoned and Colby began packing their stuff except for the spirit box. “It was nice to get to know you, Y/n” Sam thanked you again.

“Please” the box said as you started to tear up begging them to stay. “Don’t leave me alone” the box said on your behalf and you started fidgeting with your fingers nervously. You didn’t want to be seen as clingy, but the two made you feel at peace again.

“You don’t like being alone, huh?” Colby guessed from your responses. “Would you…like to come with us?” He questioned getting a wide eyed stare from Sam in protest.

“Colby! The fuck are you doing?” Sam whispered but you could hear it of course.

“Sam she is a nice ghost! And she is so alone, can’t you hear that? She doesn’t want us to leave, so maybe she can come with us and protect us from now on” Colby reasoned with Sam in a normal voice and Sam sighed knowing it was probably a good idea that they got some kind of spiritual protection with them on other investigations.

“She can be our guardian angel” Colby smile really wanting you to come with them now. You smiled back even though they couldn’t see it they made you happier in one night than your husband did in five years of marriage.

“Colby! You have to watch this!” Sam yelled as he slamed the door of the office shut and came running into Colbys room who sat on his bed scrolling through his phone.

“What’s got you so excited?” Colby laughed at his best friend as the blond came running in with his Laptop in hands. Sam just pointed at his Laptop screen eagerly waiting for colby to realise what seemed to be small fingerprint on his display. “That’s…all?” Colby raises an eyebrow disappointingly at Sam, “You’re showing me your dirty ass display? That’s got you so excited?” Colby laughed at Sam.

Sam frowned realising his display was turned off. He rolled his eyes. “No” Sam shakes his head at Colby and turns on the screen again. “This is what I wanted to show you” Sam proudly holds his laptop into the face of Colby. It shows a website of a little town near California, very small and not very well known from what Colby gathers.

“And I’m looking at what exactly?” Colby asks frowning at the screen as Sam shakes a little with his hands making it hard for Colby to read the websites information page.

“Oh are you kidding me? This is our next trip, brother!” Sam sounds rather excited smiling from ear to ear like a little child on Christmas. “This town has a small attraction for ghost hunters, supposedly there is a female ghost that lived in that house and died due to her husband killing her and taking away her children. She doesn’t like men” Sam reads over the attractions information again, which is supposedly your house.

“Great sounds like we’re very welcome there then” Colby scoffs with a playful smirk on his lips. He rolls his eyes at the thought of going to a house, that inhabits a ghost that doesn’t like males..again.

“I know right?” Sam nods excitedly grinning at Colby who just shakes his head in disbelief. “I already got us a tour planned through the house and then we’ll get ten hours alone in the house” Sam explains sounding really certain about all this versus Colby wants to slap him to get him to think about this beforehand.

“You just planned something you didn’t even know I would agree to?” Colby raises an eyebrow in belief at his blond friends giddy behaviour.

“Brother…you got some bold amount of trust in me on those things” Colby laughed and playfully nudged Sam with his shoulder.

*flashback*

Your heart thumped in your chest, nearly bursting through your ribcage. You two sons were nowhere to be found, they weren’t there after school where you would usually pick them up and your husband wouldn’t answer his phone.

Tears were streaming down your cheeks as you cried while sitting on the porch at the doorstep of your house. Your eyes were burning fron crying so much when you finally saw your husbands car pull up in the driveway.

A sigh of relief left your lips and you stood up hesitantly as your husband got out of his car. “I can’t find the boys! They are nowhere to be found“ you cried hysterically and threw yourself i the arms of your husband who shushed you gently and brought you inside of your house.

“The boys are save” your husband responded once you calmed down a bit. You looked up at him in confusion, your eyebrows furrowed and your hands fidgeting in worry of your children.

“How do you know that?” You asked him confused by his words and how he would know that.

“Because they are at my place” he answered with a heavy sigh escaping his lips and your eyes widened. You stood up as he walked into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water from the sink.

“What? Why wouldn’t you say this earlier?! You let me cry my eyes out instead of telling me that?” You were confused and slightly angry with him at this point. Confused because he didn’t tell you and angry because he let you cry your eyes out first.

“I’m sorry” he said sounding sorrowful which confused you, because he just lied to you and didn’t do anything too drastic.

You were about to reply but suddenly felt a sharp pain in your stomach. A choked gasp escaped your throat, then another pain, and another one, and another one.

You sank to your knees looking at him in shock, anger and confusion. “W-why” you gasped out in shock as he kneeled down in front of you while you gripped his arms tightly as he stabbed you with a kitchen knife.

“Shssh” he shushed you gently and pulled the knife out of the last stab wound making you whimper in pain. He didn’t utter a word while he stood up letting you lean against the kitchen cupboards under the sink while blood poured around you creating a puddle.

“Alright what are we watching?” Sam asks as he and Colby walk through the door of your aparment. It’s already pretty late, the streetlights providing a dim light on the streets in front of your windows in your living room.

“I thought we could watch Annabelle?” You suggest with an unsure smile as Sam and Colby share a glance of suspicion, it was not rare for you to suggstest a movie night but you guys would usually watch some romcom and not a horror movie.

“But you hate horror movies..?” Colby raises an eyebrow at you and looks at you with suspicion as he steps forward. “Why are you willing to watch a horror movie with us? You never even look at a horror movie the slightest and now you wanna watch one?” Colby glances at you with a slight confused smile on his lips.

“Well..I know you guys like watching horror movies and because I didn’t see you for a long time, I wanted to do something you guys liked..” your press your lips into a thin line after you speak regretting the words immediately after saying them, because you know they now want to scare you with a horror movie. “Even if that means watching a horror movie..” you mumble under your breath.

“you won’t regret it! I promise you won’t” Sam smiles widely and hugs you tightly in excitement. He never gets the chance to watch something scary with you and now he wants to make the best out of it.

You smile awkwardly knowing you will regret this decision as Sam and Colby gush about the many horror movies they want to show you. It’s not even that you’re scared of the movie while watching it, it’s the feeling you have after watching those movies. The feeling of eeriness when you turn off the lights and every little noise making you jump and nearly giving you a heart attack.

And you were right. Right as the lights were out, Annabelle playing on your TV and you three sitting on your couch watching the screen intensely, you regretted your life decisions. Your hands sweating slightly as the scenes began playing, making you nervous ever so slightly.

It’s not like you nearly jumped out of your skin when you saw Annabelle in the movie scenes, you’d also like to think you won’t have nightmares about that creepy doll.

Nearing the middle of the movie Colby started noticing the fidgeting of your hands and how tense you looked while staring at the TV screen with wide eyes. He swore he even saw your knees shaking slightly.

So without thinking he placed his ringed hand onto your hands and stopped them from fidgeting making you look at him in surprise. He just smiled reassuringly and gave you a short nod before looking back at the screen while rubbing the back of your right hand with his thumb to create some comfort for you.

You smiled at him thankfully as your shaking stopped slightly while watching the full movie. You felt a sense of safety and comfort radiating from Colby as he held your hands throughout the whole 1 hour and 39 minutes of the movie.

Sam didn’t even seem to realise the way Colby and you held hands, the blonds eyes fixated on the screen the whole time not once glancing at the intertwined hands of you and Colby as he was zoned out on the movie.

“And? How was it?” Sam asked you excited for your answer as the movie credits rolled up on the screen. Colby still rubbing your knuckles with his thumb to comfort you as you gave Sam a look that made him chuckle.

Sam glanced at Colbys hand that held your tightly and then smirked briefly at his best friend before glancing back at you with a knowing look that made you blush. “I see..that bad huh?” Sam chuckles making you smack him on the back of his head. “Ow..damn you sure know how to throw a punch” he groaned rubbing the back of his head.

“At least I know that you can defend yourself against ghosts now..” Colby chuckles as well and you playfully shove his side with your elbow making him laugh even harder as your elbow hits his side right on his ribs.

Heavy breathing echoing through the silent city. Debris surrounding both the hero and the villain. Just that the hero was fine while the villain was fighting for her life on the ground.

It felt like her body was on fire. Her hands pressing onto her abdomen in an attempt to stop the bleeding. Funny enough that the red liquid that should keep her alive was now running out of her like a water bucket with holes.

A puddle of blood forming under her trembling body as she desperately tried to fight the unconsciousness.

The hero wiped the blood from his broken nose with the back of his hand while looking down at the trembling villain on the ground. He did this. He injured her like this.

She was never supposed to die. Not like this, not now. But he can’t go back in time, if he could he would save her. “I’m sorry” the hero whispered trying to sound strong, but his voice was quivering.

The villains eyes looked up at the hero in pain. Her body nearly bursting with pain, tears running down her cheeks. Her lips trembling as she speaks “I-I’m sorry too” she whispers weakly.

The hero nods slowly. He takes a few steps back before turning around to leave the villain to die.

The villain sobbed loudly. All her life she was left alone, she thought she would die alone and she found her peace with it. But now as it dawned to her that she would really die alone, drowning on her own blood..she didn’t want to be alone anymore.

Her head began shaking from side to side. She sobbed loudly “don’t go…please” her voice fragile, weak and shaking with tears cascading down her flushed cheeks. “I don’t want to be alone…I-I don’t want to be alone” she sobbed.

One of her hands reached out on the ground trying to desperately get the hero to turn around, to get his attention, to make him stay.

“please…I don’t want to die alone” her voice breaks as she watches the hero’s fading silhouette. “please…” she begged.

She wanted nothing more than to be held by someone again, even if it would be the person who did this to her. “please don’t go…”

She didn’t care if the hero did this to her, all she wanted was for someone to hold her again. To make her feel less alone, to take her pain away, to make all the pain and sadness disappear. “Please don’t leave me alone…”

She just wanted to be held again, like her mother used to do, like her father used to do. She wanted to feel safe again, she wanted to feel protected again. Even if it meant getting that from the hero.

She didn’t care. She just didn’t want to be alone.

She turned her head away from the hero not bearing the side of him leaving. Her eyes closing slowly as she looked up into the night sky.

The moon smiling down at her sadly. The stars glistening brightly above her. She would’ve like this if she wasn’t dying. Her eyes closed, a feeling of loneliness spreading through her.

“I’m here” she felt arms wrap around her. Strong arms wrapping her in a warm and gentle embrace holding her close to the persons chest.

“I’m here” the hero whispered softly. “I’m here with you till the end” his voice sounding soft. His arms keeping her safe and protected as he pressed her to his chest.

Her body relaxing into his embrace. Her cold body shivering as the warmth spread from his body to hers. “I-I’m sorry” she whispered brokenly. Her voice weak and barely audible.

“Shsh” he shushed her softly. One hand running gently through her hair to soothe her. “Don’t waste your breath” he whispered. “It will all be better. The pain will be gone, the sadness too…just rest” he whispered to the villain.

Her body curling up weakly against his chest. The feeling of being cared for was foreign to her, but at least she felt what it could be like to be cared for in her last moments. “Promise?” She whispered breathlessly “promise m-me the p-pain will be gone?” her eyes fluttering open just barely.

“Yes..I promise” the hero glanced down at her nodding softly. “The pain will be gone, you won’t feel anything…” he added barely audible as he looked down at the broken figure of the villain in his arms.

Right now he didn’t see a villain. He saw a young woman who’s soul was broken, who’s life was hard, who tried anything to survive on her own. He saw her as the woman she was, not the villain she became.

“S-stay with me?” She chocked out questioningly. The first part of her question drowning under her sobs. She looked up at the hero with broken but hopeful eyes. “Please..” she whispered. Her voice so fragile and weak as she begged him to stay with her.

“I’ll stay with you” the hero nodded smiling softly down her. “I’m not going to leave you alone” he added with a slightly quivering voice. “I’m here” he shushed her as she sobbed in his arms.

Her head pressed against his chest. His arms wrapped around her securely. “I’m here” he whispered again, his voice only audible to her and only her.

She mustered a weak and sad smile. “Thank you” she whispered as her eyes fluttered shut. A peaceful smile on her lips as she drifted off into unconsciousness.

Her body growing limp in the hero’s arms.

The band was exhausted as they walked through the silent airport at 2 am in the morning.

The moon shone light through the windows onto the eight members of Stray Kids casting a silvery glow over everything.

Occasionally chatter was heard from staff members of the airport or the giggling and joking around from Hyunjin and Lee Know.

As they walked through the airport trying to find their driver back to the club house, Felix noticed something particularly strange.

Or rather someone.

A little girl not older than eight stood in front of the displays of a coffee shop that actually sold some decent coffee and baked goods.

The little hands touched the glass of the display where the pastries laid. Korean words showing what type of pastry it was.

Felix frowned as he looked at the little girl. Greasy hair neatly pulled into a ponytail, torn and dirty clothes, no shoes.

He watched as the girl reached into the pocket of her torn and not really warm looking pants.

The tiny hand pulled out a few coins, counting them before looking back at the pastry display with slight hope in the little eyes.

She seemingly looked at the price with hope, then frowned and counted the coins again. It didn't match the price displayed on the price tag for the pastry.

The girl sighed heavily, letting her head fall forward in shame. She put the coins back into her pocket wrapping her big jacket tighter around her shivering body.

With tears brimming in her eyes she retreated from the coffee shop to one of the benches. Her legs being tucked into her chest while her head hid into her folded arms over her knees.

Her body began shaking and occasionally a little sniffle and sob was heard. Felix frowned.

He pulled out his wallet from his pocket walking over to the coffee shop, which made the other band members stop in confusion.

Felix wasn't usually the one to get some coffee this early in the morning.

Felix looked through the pastries displayed in the counter before picking three of them and paying for them.

He then made his way over to the little girl who seemed to not notice the approaching stranger.

Felix crouched down in front of the girl tapping her knee gently.

The girl flinched at the sudden touch moving her head up a bit to look at Felix in front of her.

She wiped her tears away as he smiled softly at her. She cowered back a bit into the seat a little more.

Felix then held up the bag from the coffee shop in his hand making the girls eyes light up.

"I saw you looking at some of those pastries over there", Felix spoke in Korean pointing over to the coffee shop with his free hand.

"I figured you may be hungry", he smiled at the girl holding the bag so that she could take it if she wanted too. "It's okay, you can take the bag", Felix encouraged with a nod.

The girl hesitantly grabbed the bag with her tiny hands from his gentle hold.

She was still tensed up by the sudden interaction, but relaxed a bit more as she began eating one of the pastries that Felix brought her.

The band members watched the interaction with melting hearts as Felix brought the little girl food.

Felix sat down next to her keeping a respectful distance to her in case she was scared or felt threatened by him.

The girl began slowly eating the second pastry keeping a constant eye on Felix out of her peripheral vision.

"I'm Felix. What's your name, little one?", Felix asked the girl with the torn clothes as she put the bag into the pocket of her jacket. One pastry remaining inside the plastic bag.

"Y/n", the girl whispered in a strained voice fidgeting with her fingers.

"How old are you, Y/n?", he asked her with a small smile displaying on his lips.

She smiled back before holding up eight fingers. Five with one hand and three with the other one. "Eight", she replied proudly smiling up at Felix while swinging her legs back and fourth as they didn't reach the floor yet.

"Where are your parents?", he asked with a concerned tone in his voice looking at her with worry. He didn't see any adults that seemed to be supervising the girl.

Y/n shrugged resting her hands in her lap fidgeting with them again. She shivered as a cold air blew through the airport. Her thin clothing doing little to protect her from the cold outside.

Felix frowned in concern looking up at the members of the band, they shrugged.

Felix sighed heavily, "You need some warm clothes, a bed and someone to take care of you, come on", he stood up holding out his hand for her to take.

Y/n looked at his hand then back up at him and back down at his hand blinking.

She hesitantly reached out and grabbed it carefully with her little hand as Felix pulled her gently with him to the others.

Your footsteps echo through the dark halls of the school for Evil. Your black dress flowing with every step you take. You fidget with your fingers looking at the stone ground.

Without paying attention to your way to bump into someone. Falling to the ground as you make impact with the person. “Watch where you’re going”, Hester sneers as she walks away from you.

You mutter an apology while standing up. You walk towards the Deans office with a nervous feeling in your chest. You hate walking to the Deans office, she is just so easily annoyed by everyone and you hate being yelled at.

You hesitate before knocking at the dark wooden door to her office. “What is it?”, she calls from inside and you open the door carefully. “Ah Y/n. What is it this time?”, she sets her pen onto her desk which she had been grading some papers with.

“I-I just wanted to ask if I could get some extra time for the assignment..”, your gaze is half casted down onto the ground. She sighs deeply.

“You have had enough time already. You’ll get the time everyone else gets, end of discussion”, she picks up her pen again turning her attention back to the papers on her desk.

You nod silently turning back to the door to leave the office “why does school have to be so hard”, you mumble to yourself. Lady Lesso looks up again, she stops you from leaving as she speaks up again.

“School isn’t hard. Life is. School just gives you a taste of what it is like out there”, she glares a bit, but sighs as her gaze softens “what do you need, young one?”, she stands up leaning against her desk crossing her arms over her chest.

You sigh deeply turning back around. “I honestly don’t know anymore”, you breathe out in frustration. “maybe a break from studying, a break from feeling like I’m not good enough or a break from life”, you rant on as tears well up in your eyes slightly.

The dean for Evil sighs again deeply this time. She pinches the bridge of her nose with her thumb and pointer finger. “Look”, she starts looking back at you again.

“I’ll tell you this as your professor and your dean. Take that break from studying, but try your best in the exams. It’s not worth it to beat yourself up over every little mistake or obstacle”, she continues while her gaze softens.

“I’m here for you if you need support. Now go out and enjoy the sun for a while”, she turns her back to you sitting back down behind her desk to continue grading the papers.

You nod leaving her office with a small smile on your face. You leave the school and go sit at the lake in the shared gardens of the Schools. You sit down on the green grass looking into the clear and blue water.

You smile slightly. The sun shines down onto you and warms you up a bit in your dark clothing.

Your found peace is disturbed as you hear laughing behind you. You look behind you turning slightly to see three princesses from the school for good giggling and occasionally looking into your direction.

You frown at them before looking back onto the lake. They talk about you and you occasionally hear your name. You start to feel uncomfortable and stand up sighing. “Back to studying it is then”, you sigh sadly. For the last four weeks you have been studying nonstop and your mind can’t take it anymore, but you have to push through and put up with it like everyone else does.

“Leave the girl be!”, Lady Lesso calls sternly from up the hill at the entrance of the school for Evil. Her cane gripped tightly in her hand as she glares at the princesses.

“Are you alright?”, she asks genuinely concerned about you right now. She had to endure bullying as well, she knows it’s nothing easy to deal with.

You were currently driving home from a haunted location. Colby was driving as Sam sat in the passenger seat next to him filming ever second of this trip.

You and Kat sat in the backseat together. She sat behind Sam while you sat behind Colby. Normally you wouldn’t sit on the right side of the car because the seatbelt was in an uncomfortable position on that side, but she insisted on sitting behind her boyfriend, so you just nodded.

You guys were still fighting over what you heard and saw in the hotel. Multiple grunts were heard and heavy footsteps reaching the outside door of the hotel were picked up by the camera. There were also a few droplets of blood along the way out of the hotel, which didn’t particularly put you at ease.

Now you were all safe and sound in the car driving back home to your cozy house. “I’m pretty sure it was a ghost”, Sam spoke up filming himself which made you chuckle.

The blond turned the camera to your face and you raised an eyebrow at him. “I’m pretty sure it’s not”, you smirked at him seeing Colby glancing at you through the mirror out of your peripheral vision.

“Oh really?”, Colby smirked at you through the mirror before turning his gaze back upon the street. “Why’s that?”, Sam asked curiously smirking as well as Colby did before. He thought he knew the answer. Boy was he wrong.

“Ghosts don’t bleed”, you simply shrugged in response glancing back out the window after seeing Sam turn the camera back to set up on the dashboard.

“You know brother”, Colby turns briefly to look at Sam who glanced back. “She’s got a point there”, he admitted truthfully sending a smile your way which you returned.

“Whatever, Mr and Mrs smarty pans”, Sam huffed grumpily crossing his arms over his chest like a little kid throwing a tantrum.

“I didn’t know you two were married”, Kat exclaimed giggling which seemed to lighten her boyfriends mood. You head snapped towards her.

She played along with Sam even though you two were probably right about the whole ghost not ghost thing at the hotel.

“We’re not married and we’re not going to!”, both you and Colby exclaimed in unison before glancing at each other with a slight glare.

You huffed. “Hey! I’m pretty hot and adorable”, you crossed your arms over you chest speaking to Colby as he had just said he wouldn’t marry you.

“And I’m handsome and funny, so why won’t you marry me?”, he asked in return frowning slightly glancing back at the street.

“Same question goes for you!”, you answered frowning at him and his stupid behaviour. You heard Kat chuckle from beside you while she glanced between you two every so often.

“I asked first”, Colby argued with you shaking his head and refusing to answer the question himself as he demanded an answer from you first.

“And I asked second!”, you argued back smirking as you saw him scoff in annoyance rolling his eyes at you through the mirror.

Sam sighed while Kat began speaking in a hushed tone towards her boyfriend. “See what I mean? They are made for each other”, she whispered to him and he nodded slightly.

The door finally opened and mich to Wednesdays dismay it was Enid who came in disturbing Wednesdays session. “Wow okay, sorry to interrupt your spooky summoning session”, Enid backed away out of the room.

“What do you want?”, Wednesday asked stopping her words from before turning around to face the blond haired werewolf with a scold on her face.

“I merely wanted to grab some of my nail polish, but I’m sure Yoko has enough of it”, Enid flashed a smile before her steps of running manifested on the hallways floorboards.

Wednesday shook her head walking to the door closing it. “Did she really just interrupted something so important for nail polish?”, Wednesday muttered annoyed and looked at Thing who made a shrug gesture.

“Seems like she did”, you chuckled coming into Wednesdays view making even the raven haired goth girl jump in surprise. “Hello, Wednesday”, you smiled walking forward.

She took a deep breath meaning to ease her pounding heart. You chuckled once more seeing her shocked face. “Now don’t give that look. You’re the one who summoned me”, you grinned and Wednesday rolled her eyes returning to her emotionless face. “There she is”, you whispered teasingly making your former girlfriend roll her eyes again.

“I don’t have time for your teasing, Y/n”, she breathed out and walked back into the circle of candles. “I need to talk to you about something important”, she explained beginning to clear the floor of the black candles.

“It’s always something important, isn’t it? Every time”, you sighed making your way towards what ,you assumed was her bed, and sat down on it. “I’m only good for information”, you fake pouted at her making her smile a little.

“Now don’t play the victim”, she said sternly putting the candles into the lower drawer of her desk walking to sit down next to you.

“Well I’m the one who’s dead, aren’t I?”, you chuckled slightly brushing your shoulder through hers.

“Touché”, Wednesday nodded and looked at Thing sitting on her desk pointing towards the papers and therefore the reason for your summoning. “Enough small talk. You’re here because of these”, Wednesday let Thing give to the papers on her desk.

“What”, you mused a little smile forming on your face and Wednesday looked a little confused. “Aw you finally wrote your book? That’s wonderful”, you cheered. “But I didn’t think this was that important for you to summon me”, you smirked her way setting the papers down behind you on the bed.

“What? No”, Wednesday shook her head heavily grabbing the papers and then turning to glare at Thing who mixed up the papers. “This is not the reason I called out to you, Y/n”, she shook her head standing up to walk to her desk grabbing the real reason for your coming.

“Oh”, your smile faltered but Wednesday didn’t notice it. She was too busy glaring at Thing.

“This is”, she grabbed the papers from her desk bringing them to you. “You knew about my parents plan, didn’t you?”, she asked you looking sternly at you as she crossed her arms over her chest.

You sighed taking a breath and began reading the papers. It was a letter Morticia Addams wrote to you before you died. “No Wednesday I didn’t knew”, you told her shaking your head.

“Don’t test me, Y/n. This proofs everything”, Wednesday says taking the papers out of your hands going over them in a hurry as you stand up scoffing.

“This proofs nothing, Wednesday, because there is nothing to proof!”, you insist crossing your arms. “I didn’t know that your parents were going to sent you here”, you sighed.

“I have to go, Wednesday. It was nice talking to you one last time”, you smiled slowly disappearing. “Goodbye Wednesday”, you smiled and she watched you disappear with confusion written over her face.

“What? What do you mean one last time?”, she asked herself whispering to Thing. “Y/n”, Wednesday said reading over the papers of her mother once again.

“Today we’re gonna play the midnights game”, Sam smiled into the camera as you looked at him with wide eyes.

“We’re gonna play what?!”, you exclaimed standing up abruptly nearly knocking Colby off the couch in the process. “Have you lost your mind?”, you sighed rubbing your eyes.

That night you couldn’t sleep. You tossed around and turned. But nothing seemed to be comfortable enough after you heard the knocks on Sams closet door.

“Fuck you Sam”, you breathed out groggily getting out of your warm covers to get yourself something to drink.

You didn’t turn on the lights being thankful that your adjusted to the darkness. You put on your slippers going out of your room making your way downstairs.

You were about to grab a glass when you heard someone say your name. Freezing in your spot you held your breath. “Y/n?”, you breathed out as you heard Kat talk to you.

“Kat! You scared the shit our of me!”, you whisper shouted filling your glass with water as she chuckled. “Are you really playing this game?”, you asked as you saw the others holding either salt or candles.

“Yep”, Sam nodded smiling giving you a lit candle. “And unfortunately everyone thats in the house at the time the midnight man comes, must be playing the game”, he explained making you groan.

“I hate you guys”, you said shaking your head having a tight grip on your candle putting your glass away. “Okay what do we do?”, you asked annoyed.

“Well-“, Colby began talking but was interrupted by his candle getting out. “Light it!”, he panicked making Sam shake as he tried to light Colbys candle back on.

You moved around the house with the group. Your candle never going out. Suddenly your head felt very heavy and your eyes began to close occasionally, if it weren’t for Colby who tapped your shoulder ever so often.

“Guys? I’m kind of tired”, you yawned and Sam nodded looking at his watch.

“It’s only one thirty”, he said looking shocked as you tried to keep yourself awake. “You good?”, he asked as he saw you leaning against Colby.
