i think it's really fun when a rly specific trope is super popular in one particular medium but in other ones it's just totally unheard of. it's the time knife. visual novel players are suuuuper used to death games but many others encountered them for the first time in squid games. the other day my mom showed me all excited the summary of a super original novel she found and it was about a girl who got reincarnated as the main character in her favorite fantasy book
what the fuck is a time knife
Time knife is a form of time knife
I would have followed you my brother, my captain, my king.
❤️🖤❤️🖤
I seriously wanna be useful in this fandom

Advert of Muse's Absolution tour dates in the UK [NME (August 23rd, 2003)]
Anyway the Good Omens social media crew can try to convince us that the lights are off and the bookshop is closed.
But the bookshop in my brain is still open. Only on weekends, or the occasional open stint on a quiet midweek day or two, but Whickber Street still bustles around it. It still exists, and is still tended to by a fussy, soft bookseller and his angular, hot headed, but incredibly loving husband. No one was invited to the wedding, needless to say. They just kind of showed up wearing rings one day, and no one had ever thought to ask when they tied the knot, or in fact if they ever even did.
And within its walls are a stock room, still painted yellow; a bedroom, now shared by a snoozing demon and a reading angel, on the weekend and those hazy midweek days; and a desk which never gets dusty or messy.
There’s also a cottage in the South Downs, with a large green house and vegetable plots which miraculously never deplete, and roses which bloom year round; there’s an armchair which has a worn down left arm cushion, from where a demon drapes himself over his angel more often than he sits on the matching chair across from it; a bedroom, shared, again; and the sounds of two lives well lived, infinite happiness and love beyond measure echoing within its floral, wallpapered walls.
Sometimes there’s still a free table at The Ritz just for them. The piano plays a familiar song softly, in time with the song of a Nightingale, and two immortal beings toast to a World which never closes or goes away, which never shuts, and which never ends.
Absolute Canon ❤️🔥✨
The trouble with listening to Muse's discography front to back again is you gain new hindsight, and suddenly you're looking back at songs like Escape and being punched in the gut.
Before there was The Wow! Signal, there was Drones, Matt's heartbreak and separation album. Before Drones, there was The 2nd Law, the love and life falling apart album. And before there were those, there was Escape.
Escape. The original song written from the point of view of the child of divorce (Matt has talked about it in the past). The forgotten child in the middle, finding himself as the 'unlovable' collateral damage of the relationship that couldn't be saved. Raging against having the ideal childhood snatched away from him: his family broken up and his own personal guilt around it, being sent away to Teignmouth, not having enough money, not seeing his parents; being teenaged and scared and raging against his parents and wishing he could reverse this and put his life back together: "why can't you just love her?/Why be such a monster?" Ultimately, he concludes that him and his dad are the same, and that he shares the blame ("But I'll still take all the blame/Because you and me are both one and the same/And it's driving me mad").
And it brings me forward in time to 2012-13, about Kate Hudson sharing in a 2021 interview that Matt said to her that he wanted their son to feel like he was gaining rather than losing family from their split. Matt knew what it like being a child of divorce, feeling the love, care and attention of a parent slip away, of feeling neglected and lost and not wanting to put his own children through that.
And it brings me to 2026 and The Wow! Signal: Matt is now on the other side of Escape. Matt could well be the dad character of Escape. And somehow, the feelings that remain are eerily similar to his childhood. Divorce still tore his family apart - everything he'd built his life around, everything he'd dreamed of, gone. Just like young Matt. He reached out, and his life was torn apart; how could he start again? On the other side of the fence too, Matt finds, "love can drift away". It's as devastating in his forties as at fourteen.
And even through the hurt, he has the cognisance of the teenager that saw and feared this happening: "I carry half the blame". And then I just have to turn the album off and go stare at the stars and get really emotional for a bit. The themes running through this man's whole life...
Thank you OP for your analysis. Actually got chills because I love Escape. I think about this song daily. It’s easily my favorite showbiz song and one of my overall favorite songs because of just the sheer rawness and emotion in it “I’ll take back all the things that I said / I didn’t realize I was talking to living dead” are up there for favorite lyrics and just the raw delivery on those lines??? Aaajskskdhsjssjshhs. And of course I’ve been loving Space Debris for similar reasons. Absolutely obsessed with the sad resolve and clear internal torment behind those lyrics. And the space imagery on top of it all is so good
(This is my first reblog/post/anything hi museblr I’m officially here after lurking for months y’all have been really fun and I love reading your analyses and appreciate the archives of photos and gifs to use for art ref 🫶🏽)
❤️❤️❤️ thank you, this album is making me view their entire back catalogue in a new light! Not because of any hidden meanings we'd missed, but because life seems to breathe new, sometimes sadder meanings into old songs as we (and Matt) add life experiences, and I think that's the power many Muse songs hold: they're able to mean more to everyone and take on different personal meanings, including to Matt's own life!
And welcome to Museblr!! Always so glad to see more people become active and want to talk about this band 😊❤️❤️
I don't think it's unreasonable for our public officials to be expected to prove they're alive and not in a coma to be able to retain their office.
If someone were, as a random example, say hospitalized for over two weeks with no explanation, I think that should automatically trigger a special election to replace them.
If you're still able to do your job, then prove it. And if you're not, then you're actively obstructing democracy by not stepping down.
Which is to say, that if a public official were to pass away or into a coma, and their handlers choose to obfuscate that fact, this should be seen as intentionally obstructing democracy.
And there should be, you know, consequences for the people who would do such a thing.

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
I was on the phone with my 7-year-old cousin and can i say that i have a newfound respect for him like damn
He has pokemon sun and his team??
