Divorce The Album
I have so much to say about this album - i'm writing my notes for radio so I'll expand later
BUT. In short can I say that this album really openly shows that at the heart of divorce are two people that tried hard and are hurting. And that concept hit me HARD
#there's so much visceral grief there - especially in songs like Shimmering Stars - that broke my heart far more than I was expecting#definitely some of Matt's best and most honest personal lyrics in quite some time#he's said that it was an unusual situation as well so I don't think it was as simple as two people falling out of love over time#and the album reflects that complexity#I think songs like Nightshift Superstar add an interesting balance wherein he still clearly has affection for her#(or at least he longs for the times where they used to have carefree fun together)#can't wait to hear your full thoughts!#muse#the wow! signal
