I just Googled the Swedish-Japanese guy in the OP, and according to this interview, his Japanese name was given to him by the master gardener he was apprenticed under:
“The family name ‘Murasame’ was given to me by my master. The given name ‘Tatsumasa’ is a combination of ‘dragon’ (tatsu), the [zodiac] year when I was born, and one character from my master’s name,” says Murasame."
So I think maybe it's less like naming yourself 'Brandon McFreedom' and more like moving to the states to work under a veteran car mechanic named Bud McLean, and then having him turn to you after a few years on the job, and say "Son, it's time for you to become an American so you can open up your shop. And when that day comes, I think the world should know you by a new name: McLeo GM Corvette."

The most annoying part about Goose writing important plot points in her Tumblr asks responses instead of the show is that now people are flocking to Youtubers criticizing the show with "You don't understand it's [Thing that Gooseworx confirmed on Social Media]!" Comments.Like sorry but not everyone has Tumblr or Bluesky.
One thing that drives me mad about this show is it kinda just picks and chooses when you should take abuse seriously or not.
When Gangle is being physically abused, made fun of and sexually blackmailed with her drawings and figures, it’s apparently just for shits and giggles while Gangle is left to suffer with only Zooble willing to help her.
When Ragatha opens up about her abusive mother, it cuts to the characters giving blank stares then it’s just brushed aside. When she was thrown into the deep fryer, writhing in pain, it’s supposed to be funny.
Meanwhile J*x talks about the abuse she went through and it’s meant to be taken seriously and be tragic.
Abuse isn’t something that you just play around with and choose when it’s important. Abuse is something SERIOUS that actually ruins people’s lives, so having Gangle and Ragatha’s abuse be downplayed and used as jokes is just extremely fucked up to me, especially since I’ve been in Gangle’s shoes before and relate to her deeply.
How am I supposed to take one characters abuse story seriously if it just points and laughs at another characters abuse story? Do you want me to laugh at their suffering or feel bad for them?
“Isn’t She Lovely?” being used for a Jax montage is so hilariously inappropriate.
Jax spent the entire show abusing everyone, has no redeeming qualities, and never once apologizes or changes, even at the very end! What is so "lovely" about that?
If they wanted a much more appropriate song, I recommend “Ding-Dong! The Witch is Dead.”

isn’t it interesting that the two characters gooseworx relates to most either doesn’t understand consent or intentionally wants to bulldoze over it, specifically when you’re a non-man and especially when you’re a woman?
People get so angry at you when you call TADC "Fandom-bait" but it's true!Every character,every interaction,every piece of lore,every line of dialouge,the presentation,every piece of trivia is meant to elicit a fandom reaction and derivative content,it is a show made for fandoms and the creators know damn well that fact,that's why I think the fandom imploded on itself as much as it did,a fandom show will bring out both the best and worst of fandoms.
