As many of my followers know, i had a severe hip dislocation in April.* This requires surgery to repair, and recovery will have me on bedrest for several weeka or even months. I have a consultation on June 25th, which means surgery may happen in July.
I'm raising money to acquire the laptop and lap desk i have on my Throne list here. This laptop will provide me with the means to write my book, and access to entertainment in general. There are other things on the list that will help keep me occupied as well. You may choose to purchase the listed items on my behalf, with the option of remaining anonymous.
In order to acquire necessary funds, i'm opening commissions. I will work on these until i can't. What i don't complete prior to surgery will have to wait until until after i recover. Pine tree wallhanging - $292 USD, and can serve as an alternative for a yuletide tree. I have one, in pink, blue, and purple, and my ornaments are pins and buttons.
Potted plants wallhanging - $464 USD, and made using mostly scraps.
Just the quilt top - starts at $481 USD, with options for larger sizes. You will receive the finished top and will have to either do the quilting yourself or hire someone to do it for you. If you wish for me to use foundation paper piecing, pay twice the amount and mention you want me to use FPP and the size range. If there is a pattern you would like me to use, feel free to ask but I promise nothing.
*It caused something called a flap tear on the front of my right hip. A 4cm cyst developed next to it and just inside the edge of the joint. It has made it virtually impossible to sit upright for more tham 10 minutes at a time due to this section if my hip pinching the tear and cyst. I have pain tolerance high enough to scare my doctor and physical therapists, and the pain sitting upright causes is enough to bring me to tears.

After my mom died in 2020 I inherited my childhood home and I have nowhere else to go. My property taxes have backed up. I had hoped I could get it taken care of once I got put on my mom's social security as her disabled daughter, but clearly the SSA can't be bothered to do any real work to determine that I a one eyed woman who is barely seeing 20:80 on a good day is disabled so I'm taking them to court. It really is hilarious because whenever you start your art journey, you watch all the videos and ask artists and they all give tips and help but it all ends up coming down to "you just have to practice".
And it pisses you off because bruh how am I supposed to practice this shit if I can't even do this first couple of fucking lines to make a good cylinder.
And then you start drawing and it sucks and you keep doing it, and you learn new skills and tricks, and you even end up developing an art style naturally (which they told you you would do, and you didn't believe them, but it came free with the constantly drawing in a way that made you comfortable and learning the medium).
And at the end of it all, someone else asks wow how you did all of that, and after all this time of putting in effort you finally have to eat crow and admit that the answer is... Damn... you really have to practice 🤣🤣🤣

Please sign that petition if you can, this bill is worse than it seems. Its primary purpose is to exclude trans women from women's spaces, including bathrooms, prisons, homeless shelters, and sports. It also cements transphobic, intersexist, and acephobic beliefs that are already somewhat present in Australia's law.
It is worth noting that this bill is being pushed by the National party, one of Australia's main right-wing parties. The party currently in power is the Labour party, our biggest left-wing/centrist party. The party pushing for this bill does not have the votes needed to pass it, and thus either needs to convince centrists to agree with them or are doing this to curry favour for the next election or some other goal.
When it comes to the bill itself, they are defining anything relating to one's sex in terms of the sex binary in a way which excludes intersex people in many ways. They also are changing the definition of sexual attraction, and the main change this makes is an exclusion of non-binary people in attraction. However, it is also worded so a trans woman lesbian is considered straight, and their definition also doesn't properly include asexual people. Those wording issues are already present in the original law, however.
They are also explicitly stating that it's okay to discriminate against transfems in women's spaces of any kind, including prisons, bathrooms, homeless shelters, and sports. That is the main change being pushed for.

Email or call your local MP if you can and tell them they need to publically push back and press them on the harm this bills mere existence is causing! Lately Labors silence on issues is not a good one and they are far from being functional enough for the people since doubling down on right wing policy.

Using giggle vs tickle as cover for this kind of legislation is absolute bullshit as well. An online app is exactly the kind of place where gender identity is important and biological sex is not relevant for safety or privacy.
Just ran into my local (Labor) member and asked her about it. She is absolutely disgusted by this and said she was talking about it on the radio yesterday. She said women (including trans women, obviously) are under attack already, they don't need this too. It won't be supported. But it also doesn't deserve the time of day.
