the dickroy thing is that roy merely suspects that bruce abused dick while dick knows oliver abused roy
Roy absolutely suspects but can never know for certain. because nothing gets Dick to clam up faster than the hint of suspicion that the person he's talking to does not agree with him that Bruce is the greatest man who's ever lived. So while Roy can observe the way Bruce and Dick interact and has the 'uh oh, molested' warning bells ringing, he can never get Dick to come out and say it.
To me the extent to which Dick knows Ollie abused Roy is not about whether he knows the literal facts of what happened -- which I think he does; especially as Roy got older and more cynical about the institution of sidekicks in general I think he was more than happy to commiserate about how weird and messed up particular aspects of his upbringing were. I just don't think Dick is the greatest at recognising certain kinds of abuse as abuse. Especially if what was going on between Roy and Ollie was non-contact! Like he'd agree it was inappropriate behaviour but to call it abusive (with all the connotations of things that should have been done about it, to say nothing of what it means for his relationship with Bruce) is not a mental step I think he ever is in a place to take.
all this to say: I think dickroy's first time goes Real Bad 👍👍👍 they know too much about each other and not enough about themselves. they walk all over each other's boundaries and trip over each other's trauma and it's an extremely unfun time all around. it does not stop them doing it again.
