Dick being invited to some assassin business meeting by Slade since Slade wants a pretty toy sitting on his lap only the meeting is in Gotham and Dick doesn't want to risk Bruce finding out about them. Slade points out that its not just some meeting and everyone in that room is going to have to have been on the scene for years to even be considered for an invite. There is no way anyone is going to be incompetent enough to let it slip to the Bat. And so Dick agrees. And he dresses in his most sinful black outfit and even wears the collar he knows Slade loves so much and is fully prepared to enjoy subbing for Slade with the added thrill of being in a room of people who would kill him if they realised who he was. And then he is lead in and immediately his eyes lock on to Matches Malone a.k.a Bruce's criminal undercover identity and he immediately just wants the world to swallow him whole.

dick grayson will never be alone but he will always feel lonely

because he will always be unsatisfied. not in a magnificent way that drives his nearest and best relationships apart from him in terrible, malicious circumstances. but there is something inside of dick that is constantly unsatisfied: with himself, with others, with life. dick is always going to feel a need to improve, and that kind of drive is very isolating. there is no satisfaction in perfectionism, and dick's foundations are built on being so perfect that even death is afraid to touch him

hey. hey guys. remember when tt slade told dg verbatim 'maybe one day ill become like a father go you.' alongside the whiplash of 'from now on id like you to call me master.' while isolating dg from everyone and dg being very explicitly dressed to represent slade down to the collar and making dg entirely dependent on slade. what do you think he meant by that.

It's not immoral or wrong to like your dad if your dad is a freak who goes out dressed as a bat btw. He has bigger issues, his son wanting him carnally is not on top of that list.
