I yearn for customizable profiles— I want everyone to be forced to listen to my shitty playlist the moment they click my profile — I miss social media not being a numbers game

I get sent PR packages, I post content about products I’m sent, I’m typing this on an iPhone, it is not lost on me that I’m a part of the problem

But I’ve been considering canceling my Spotify premium, and going back to an mp3, just for starters

Thrifting physical copies of media that I own digitally, no longer purchasing digital media from here on out

Eventually I’d love to switch to a dumb phone, but I doubt it’ll be soon — especially since the one I’d like isn’t sold in the US, and wouldn’t work here, even if I could get my hands on it, but also my current phone isn’t that old (it’s “old”, but it’s new to *me* and it works, so replacing it when I don’t need to, just feels like a step in the direction of overconsumption, which is something I try to avoid to begin with lol)

Little steps, but the end goal to be as unplugged as possible

-adverts cannot lie about the product they are advertising

-adverts cannot trick you into clicking them (eg. false X's to close the ad)

-adverts cannot pretend to be the app you are currently playing and say "you need to update the app!"

-adverts cannot, under any circumstance, have strobing lights

-adverts cannot bully or belittle the viewer (genuinely why is this one a thing ads do)

-advertising gambling should be illegal

-advertising addictive products should be illegal

-no hate speech of any kind

-no attempting to convert the viewer to any religion
