I don’t understand why people keep saying that Gabe goes away at the end of next to normal. In Light Diana literally says „some hurts never heal / some ghosts are never gone“ as Gabe stands on the stairs behind them all. Like. He‘s faded into the background and they‘re learning to live with his presence in a healthier way but he will never truly leave. You have to acknowledge your grief to process it but that doesn’t mean it just goes away. That’s the whole point I fear.
#this is right up there with people who imagine Gabe as a Real Person (character) for me#nothing he exhibits is a personality trait because he is fundementally not real#he is sometimes Diana's imaginging of a perfect son#or Natalie's imagining of the untouchable golden child brother#and he is mostly a manifestation of grief#which seems obvious but I've seen people bickering about Gabe's “character traits” many times#and unless you're talking about how#and unless you're talking about how his imagined traits say something about the person imagining him you're all wrong
