The thing is that Star Trek was never a "low budget" series. Every iteration of Star Trek has always been among the most expensive series for their era of television. Like if you're watching Deep Space Nine, say, bear in mind that every episode was filmed on a set the size of a shopping mall full of custom designed props and setpieces, with dozens of extras walking around in make-up that took hours to apply.
Doctor Who, though...was cheap. And should be again.

Tumblr lemme tell you, sometimes? The struggle is really, really real.
Ive been struggling to get this art idea out for days and I think I finally am about over the hurdle that is "composition and layout". Its by far the biggest hurdle I have to cross when I draw, lately. Even bigger than starting, sometimes. Because if I dont have a clear idea in my head for how a piece is gonna look, or if I dont have at the very least a key element in my head, I struggle extremely hard to put pen to paper and get the "bad ideas" out so I can find the good one.
It's extremely frustrating at times, because even though I can sit and basically force myself to work, brute forcing it all can leave me feeling very tired very quickly. I haven't got the discipline to work when I'm feeling tired, yet. I dont know if I even WANT to work through feeling tired. Because I did that in college and fresh out of college and let me tell you, I never want to do that again. It sucked!
This is all to say that, even with my tricks and 'cheats' I still struggle to art. Just differently. Idk. I didnt really have a point to this beyond expressing my own experiences and struggles. Cause lord am I struggling right now.

I've seen some posts trying to make fun of former gifted kids by comparing them to former student athletes who insist that they could have gone pro if not for a specific injury, and those posts always backfire, because my reaction to them is "You're right, we should treat former student athletes with more compassion than we currently do"
I went from being very physically active to getting the "your body doesn't make energy properly anymore" disability so I can completely understand the grief that comes with circumstances outside your control destroying parts of you you were once proud of and locking you out of the life you could have had. It's not a good feeling.
