The VSMP Bat Conservation Event is an event that will occur April 12th-18th, as International Bat Appreciation Day is on April 17th of that week. This event is intended to appreciate and support bats!
We invite artists and writers in the Vampires SMP community to participate by creating an artwork or story relating to bats in VSMP and include a donation link to a bat conservation group.

i started thinking about how all of this would work, so i put some of my ideas under the cut! Tw for cults, kidnapping, violence/murder.
It started out as an accident, but as with most things with Scott Goldsmith, he never failed to take advantage of an opportunity to serve his own ends. i imagine it would have started sometime between a couple months to a year after the events of Oakhurst. Scott, Shelby, and Drift were passing through a town and, being hungry, Scott transformed into a bat to go find something to feed on. Unfortunately he wasn't careful to hide himself during this and was seen by a human. Either out of fear or reverence, the human basically worshiped Scott and brought him animals to eat. The human began recruiting other people to help feed Scott and his two fledglings since 3 vampires have a big appetite. Scott decided he could get used to this and allowed the humans to bring them food regularly.
As things went on, it spiraled out of control. Scott, who had already believed he was owed most things by the humans, developed a god complex. How could he not with all these people bringing him gifts? He decided what he really needed was more people in his "family" to act as priest/ess's on his behalf, and would protect him from any uprisings. Obviously Shelby and Drift were the first ones promoted to this special role. Any human that proved themself worthy could attain the privilege of becoming a vampire too, to be served by the humans as well. (Spoiler alert, no human was ever good enough to get to that point. If someone started getting too loud or whiny or pushy, then Scott would just kill them in secret.)
To keep control over the humans, he needed more vampires to help suppress any of the grumblings. Considering he didn't actually want any of these humans to become vampires, he instead tracked down the ones that he did know about. He went back to Oakhurst and coerced Pearl and Cleo into joining his cult. Then he tracked down Sausage, who wasn't difficult to find and he came very willingly, as if it was a new exciting adventure to explore. Lastly, he was able to find Apo. He kidnapped Cherri and he threatened to kill her if Apo didn't comply.
Abolish and his secret organization were a huge threat to Scott's safety and continued extravagance, so Scott did they only thing he could in this situation: kill Abolish. It couldn't be during one of Abolish's regularly scheduled surveillance missions, since it would be too obvious. Scott followed Abolish home after one of his visits, and watched him closely for a couple of weeks before taking him out. He wasn't able to find the rest of the organization, but he felt confident that he had covered up his tracks enough that he wouldn't be suspected. After that, Scott took his coven and the loyal humans he had and moved somewhere else to start over where the secret organization wouldn't be able to find them.
Scott started feeding on humans, and it was treated as a special gift to them to be allowed to be drank from. But he had a tendency to overindulge and accidentally kill them, so he needed a place away from prying eyes where he could safely dispose of the bodies. Thus he took a nearby cave and converted it into an underground sanctuary. Anyone that went missing he just told the other humans that they had been promoted and were now living with the coven underground in the lap of luxury. The drawing here is of the corridor leading down into the sanctuary, and each stained glass window depicts an event that occurred during Oakhurst. Don't ask me how he managed to get a natural sunlight glow through the windows if they're underground, i'm sure he figured it out somehow.
Could you draw the Coven bats meeting the bat fam (Batman Family)? Idk, I think itd be a funny cross-fandom idea. Bat fam would be so confused by these weird metas who are just talking bats.
i'm not very familiar with the batfam, so i did have to consult my local batman expert for this one. Enjoy!

Art req! Human Abolish resting/hanging out with a bunch of regular normal bats and also bat Legs because I like them as a duo. I think Abolish would be pretty good with bats, having been working with vampires for as long as he has. The bats can be perching on his limbs, flying around him, maybe Legs can be sitting on his head :)

i imagine this would be an AU where Avid ended up deciding to stick with the humans instead of switching sides to the vampires, but he decided to try being a double agent like Apo... except he's somehow doing an even worse job of it than she did. Maybe Avid and Apo can bond over being terrible double agents together lmao.
