I know all the bullshit makes you want to interpret them in the worst light possible, but I would like to please, please encourage you to do otherwise.
v!avid was a complicated, morally gray person who still did not deserve to be murdered. Pyro is not evil for killing them, but neither was it a good thing to do.
v!Avid was still a victim of the townsfolk, of Scott, and of Owen. They still faced a pretty jarring amount of blatant, explicit ableism.
He still wasn’t ontologically evil. He still suffered. He still could have been saved.
There are so many imperfect victims in vsmp. To deny them their complexity is to deny the story itself.
It’s also a, and I cannot emphasize this enough, a massive disservice to the other characters.
Ignoring the nuances of v!Avid means ignoring the nuance of Legs, Cleo, Pyro, Shelby, Drift, Abolish… the list goes on.
VSMP was an intricately connected web of character interactions and dynamics. To remove or misinterpret one character is to the detriment of all of them.
Again, Avid does not to even be in the top ten characters you talk about or engage with—I’m just asking you, the fandom, not to let your grief and anger build a version of the story that did not exist.

It took a lot of strength for some of A&M's victims to come forward and speak about it all, sharing as much evidence of it as they were able to.
I want to make it extremely clear.
I Do Not Condone The Actions Of Marma1ade and AvidMC.
I hope they both seek help from actual professionals and live better lives.
Their victims get to mourn and grieve and heal in their own wayin their own time and I wish them nothing but love and the warmest of soups.
I am also very much in the camp of 'V!Avid is a community OC now'
While I likely will not be writing any of the small one-shots I had planned for my AU. I will be continuing it and finishing it.
I refuse to let two rotten people take away something that I have worked so hard to write
V!Avid means. . .a lot to me. I cannot tell you why, I simply lack the words but he does. His story in Vampires touched my heart in a way not a lot of other media has been able to do. The CHARACTER!! is special to me.
I understand that others in the fandom are switching out V!Avid for other characters whether that be canonical ones, just changing the name or just replacing him with an OC.
I am not interested in doing such. More power to those that wish to. That isn't me.
If people wish to block me for that choice, go for it, personal comfort should come above all else!
I just figured I should make a post clearly explaining that before I post Chapter 9 after I have reviewed it.
(and if any of the creators that have characters involved with the fic either wish to be removed, have the tags taken off for it or would prefer I keep their characters out of it in future chapters. I will do such.)
(JUST A REMINDER THAT I DO NOT CONDONE THE ACTIONS OF AVIDMC. V!AVID WILL BE REFERRED TO AS JAY GOING FORWARD.)
- scott is pyro’s immediate supervisor at the library. they don’t talk much but they are friendly.
- crime is a metaphor for vampirism in this i guess.
- scott and shelby are paranormal investigators and they do sooo much tresspassing. also scott has a habit of beating up any security guards that get close to catching them
- legs commits a little bit of medical malpractice as a treat. think those doctors on medical dramas who end up helping the patient more by committing malpractice
- drift will break into a suspect’s house without a warrant, locate incriminating evidence, and hide it where the suspect can’t dispose of it when she finally comes back with a warrant.
i’m thinking i’ll continue writing my vsmp au fanfics and rename v!avid. i’m thinking of adam or jay (because elle also sounds like a letter of the alphabet and they would match) and im not a fan of the proposed avix. what do yall think

1. I am still working on it. I will add more. I’ve just been abroad for the past month after exams ended. Which did give me the opportunity to see Hadestown on the west end! It was awesome to finally see live and I have so much motivation to finish it
2. I will be working on the corresponding fan fiction when I get home
3. The pace will still be fairly slow, as I work at a summer camp and have limited free time with access to my iPad
4. Regarding the Avid situation: it was really upsetting to learn about, and I’m not even some one who was really involved in the community he and Marm had. I realize that the character of vAvid can be separated from the creator, and I respect that others can do that. But I personally don’t want to continue to have him in such a prominent role in my AU(if it was a smaller role like in my Phantom AU it might be different). So I will likely do one of two things. 1. Completely replace his character with someone else or 2. redesign the character into something more of an OC that fills the same roles and traits.
Sorry for the long post. Here’s the photos I took at Hadestown at payment
kinda redudant since ive showed the whole page already lol
but i just wanna say,
my vampires page has Avid in it, as you can see.
I in no way support Avid or Marm, or either of their actions, but have decided to include my vsmp page anyway
i worked really hard on this page, and I will not let either of them take more away from this community than they already have,
this page only depicts the character of v!avid, and not the creator, we are seperating the character and the creator, alright?
also please please please go and check out crafted realms, all the money is being donated to families in palestine and sudan, and it would mean a great deal if you could reblog and share it around!
here is the post with where the money will be going!
I cannot speak for the content creators. I cannot speak for those that were harmed the most directly, betrayed the most deeply, or lost the most profoundly.
I can only speak for myself, and what i have seen around me.
v!Avid spoke to me strongly as a character. The experience of seeing a problem that others ignored, of being ostracized for saying the wrong thing or acting the wrong way, of feeling isolated in a crowd from the profound understanding that nobody was willing to help were all things i identified strongly with. The plot was compelling. I wanted good things for the character, even as i understood that he was probably going to die.
When v!Avid did die, it was all anyone would talk about. The structure of vsmp itself was changed by his murder, because it happened in a way that was so shocking and so profoundly unsettling that it made everyone reevaluate their priorities. It was a big deal
there was a boom of fix-fics and Aviscott. People wanted to imagine a world kind enough not to kill him.
And then there was the “yaoi slop” stream.
It left a mark. People felt ashamed for exploring dynamics that AvidMC himself had championed mere months ago. The coven as a whole became less popular. “The coven is just evil” became more popular. Aviscott stopped being so prevalent. The “Scott as Avid’s sire” genre died overnight. People wrote less about v!Avid in general.
The space recovered. Cryptidclues and Moonrot became more popular. People talked more about Bloodletting. Niche ships started to take shape. Aviscott was no longer considered a simple or easy ship, but those that stayed knew what they were doing and understood what dynamics they wanted to explore. Wonderful, thought provoking stories began to take shape, all of them written by clever and passionate people. We were in a new era of story telling.
And now this.
Dozens of fanfictions struck down overnight. A lynchpin of the story we gather around becoming a forbidden topic. Doubt, about weather or not we still should acknowledge that part of the story at all. Guilt, for enjoying something that was not made by someone worth our support. Betrayal, for trusting a creator to live up to basic moral standards and being proven wrong.
Our own desire for kindness, tainted by cruelty and manipulation. Empathy rendered hesitant in the face of a dedicated manipulator. Exploration rendered criminal by unwilling association with something truly despicable.
v!Avid killed again, for being hard to love.
The fandom will recover. The fandom is already recovering- there are lots of clever, brilliant people out there that are still writing, and for them i am thankful.
