10 minutes in to the FIRST EPISODE, motherfuckers whole family is dead. Legit all of Tanjiro's family. Dad and grandma died pre-story, mum and his 4 youngest siblings died horrifically and violently while he's away from home, Nezuko is turned into a demon and almost murdered while Tanjiro fights to save her.

I already feel like this entire series is gonna be my new hyperfixation, this is fucking peak man.

On top of that, the animation is beautiful. The scene where Tanjiro is running down the mountain, carrying Nezuko on his back, is actually wonderfully animated. The way he turns feels so fluid, i almost thought it was animated briefly in 3d.

Episode 2 is wonderful too!!! 4 minutes in, we're already getting some lovely development of who Tanjiro is as a character when he thinks about how big Nezuko has gotten as she's grown up. He loves his family an incredible amount, willing to pay for and patch up a shitty old basket just to carry Nezuko around in the day. He gets into a near impossible fight with a demon to essentially avenge a bunch of dead people he found in a temple.

Hes literally attacked by the decapitated head of a demon, AND FUCKING HEADBUTTS IT SO HARD IT FLIES INTO A TREE, JUST TO RESCUE HIS SISTER!!!! IM LIVE BLOGGING THIS SHIT MY GUY JUST JUMPED OFF A CLIFF TO SAVE NEZUKO FROM THE HEADLESS BODY OF THIS DEMON GUY!!!!! HE'S ALREADY BEEN SHOWN TO BE SUCH A KIND, COURAGEOUS SOUL, AND IM ONLY TWO EPISODES INTO THIS!!!!!!!

Despite having just been almost killed trying to fight this temple demon guy, he doesnt want to properly kill him. He cant bring himself to bash the demons head in, even as the head wakes up and threatens him. He takes so long, that the demon literally burns away in the sunlight. Then, his first thought is immediately finding his sister and making sure she hasnt burnt away.

Im obsessed. His voice is a little cliché lwk, he sounds like every other anime boy, but i do think in this case that it suits him. His voice is light, a bit squeaky. Hes probably just a kid himself, i have no clue since im still new to this series. He sounds reasonably confused and anxious for the situation hes found himself in.

i know im going on and on, rip, but im loving this fucking show so much rn. Absolutely peak cinema, tragic that i didnt get into it before the movie released in the uk, since now ill probably never see it in cinema. Rip 😔😔
