I mean, nah they’re not hurting my direct body but for the us, it’s caused an outroar of anti-lgbt groups. It’s likely to only get worse from there. It makes coming out harder when they’re zie/hir pronouned people showing up on television that our parents watch and dysphoria isnt even spoken about. You’re speaking over dysphorics in the media and it’s impacting our social and personal lives. It makes our parents think this is a phase for us while those some of us are losing hope that we will ever get to transition fully in our lifetime. We feel misunderstood and isolated even more from the people in our own lives because our family and friends hear your voices over ours. It’s such a hard topic, I break down every time I talk about my dysphoria with my friends and family and I would do anything, anything at all to make that easier on myself and every other trans kid/teen/adult out there by showing them how transitioning can save lives.
Gender incongruence is a symptom of gender dysphoria, no more no less.
Aromantic people who aren’t trans and do not experience a homosexual attraction aren’t LGBT. Asexual people who aren’t trans and do not experience a homoromantic attraction are not LGBT. A lack of sexual and/or romantic attraction does not make your attraction a part of the gay and transgender community. That is all LGBT is. There is nothing “queer” or gay or trans about not having an attraction.
1: "it's caused an outroar of anti-lgbt groups" it.. hasnt. its just given homophobic people an excuse to be homophobic. literally no one is going to look at a bunch of 14 year olds using microlabels and neopronouns and decide that they hate gays. homophobes existed before mogai. transphobes existed before mogai. why is that so hard to understand? other lgbt people or questioning people arent the cause of homophobia or transphobia. homophobes and transphobes are
2: i get what youre saying! i really do! being spoken over sucks. it does. and the way that nondysphorics are shown sometimes as a larger percent of the trans community sucks, because most trans people ARE dysphoric. not all of them are. it's important that all types of trans people have their voices heard, including nondysphorics and nonbinary trans people, and no one should be drowned out. but you cant just deny the existence of nondysphoric trans people because theyre on tv or social media or whatever more than dysphorics. & you have to adknowledge that a lot of the time nondysphorics are joked about and made fun of. thats what most of their portrayal is. im not sure if i'm making sense anymore but tl;dr nondysphoric trans people deserve a voice too but it does suck that they might occasionally speak over the rest of the trans community
3: can i get a source for that definition? you cant just show me a grainy screenshot of a symptom list and expect me to believe it
4: cis + straight ace or aro people are still lgbt+, because theyre not cisgender, heterosexual, AND heteroromantic. ace and aro people face marginalization - corrective rape, being rejected by family, dehumanized, put into conversion therapy in some cases. they may not face the exact same struggles as other lgbt people but that doesnt mean the shit they face isnt real. the lgbt community was founded to be a safe haven for those who are oppressed because of gender, romantic orientation, and/or sexuality as well as to dismantle the system that allows it. so, you know. theyre not cishet & theyre marginalized based on sexuality/romantic orientation. how are they not lgbt+?
