Maitê’s lips partly open with eyebrows widen as caramel hues flicker between Miguel and Helena. It is unbelievable if it wasn’t attached to the person speaking the words she just heard –– the unspoken signal from Miguel doesn’t go unnoticed and she just shakes off. “All have to say for you all to keep with your security details in order,” this request can’t go unspoken tho. “And try be sympathy to the other families.” @helenadobrasil·

“Vitoria,” her tone uncharacteristically sharp when addressing their younger sister. “We would never kidnap anyone for personal gain or power. That’s beneath us,” she huffed. She didn’t think such commentary would assist in mending the riff between the two. Helena hid behind her planner to frown in peace. “Can we, at least, keep the current number of security? It’s hard move without being crowded already.” She resigned to Maite’s requests as always. “We’ll offer aid wherever it’s needed be it sympathy or otherwise, within reason of course.”

“I’m the genius of our family, aren’t I?” Helena rummaged through the oversized tote that hung off her shoulder. Maite’s request for deeper knowledge of the events leading up the unfortunate plunge into the depths on that boat wouldn’t be an easy task. Vitoria kept her secrets close to her vest; it was her leverage in the family. Helena needed to be creative and play to the young girl’s obvious mischief. “Stop using your tatas as a get out of jail card, okay? One day I might see a nip and I’ll cry.” She tossed the tasteful red wig at Vitoria before fitting the longer black wig on her own head.

 “I may have snagged a few plain black outfits that staff use, we’re going to play dress up like we used to do when you were a baby. I hope your acting skills have improved.” 

“ Sure you are.” Vitória was certainly not the genius of the family. Helena could keep that title, among others. “ It works most time you know. ” Flashing money also was a good way to get out of a bad situation. “ Don’t act like a nipple would offend you.” She laughed. As if her sister had never seen a pair of breasts before. 

“I know security is especially tight but I may be able to get us in and out for some fresh air,” she nudged at her sister’s foot with a mischievous grin. “Food and drinks will be on me.”

 “ –––– don’t say those words loud enough for anyone else to hear them.” it was bad enough to deal with the outcome of the events such as a boat party and the ones to be on the rise. she can’t think of her sister making jokes for the wrongs ears to hear. “even if it’s meant as a joke.” @helenadobrasil / @migueldobrasil

“She’s just joking,” her voice lower as not to agitate the fragile calm that washed over the room. It wasn’t everyday they got to spend any time together without one of the three of them fighting. “..not the best time for jokes but Vi is just processing what happened like we all are. Unfortunately, even if correlation doesn’t mean causation, it isn’t the way we hoped carnaval  would conclude.”

He looks up from what he’s reading and regards Vitória. He’s no longer sure if this is still a defense mechanism or if she’s just— “No. The programme was responsible for the flights, not us.” He glances at Maitê, shakes his head subtly. It was a bad idea to tell Vitória what not to do.  @vitoriadobrasil··

“Just because you’ve never seen me like this, doesn’t mean I don’t know how to have fun.” He mused. He was already a few drinks in when he thought he saw a familiar face and the party atmosphere did nothing to deter him from being friendly. After all, he couldn’t be bothered to do up the buttons of his shirt. It was far too warm for that anyway.

         he swore he’d only been gone a couple of minutes,   it had been a nasty line trying to get some water bottles,   but when he returned to where he had left his sister,   someone else seemed to have occupied her seat instead.     “  uh   —  ”    this was awkward,   “  have you seen my sister ?   the nice, pretty one who is always smiling  —   not the mean,  grouchy one with a scowl on her face.   ”

“ You have too many sisters ! ” It was not her responsibility to help him. “ The only one I keep track off is Xiuying ! “ Because somehow she tolerated Vitória and even advised her. “ And she looked too pretty to waste her time hanging out with you.”
