Pretends it’s “no big deal,” but the second you calm down because of it? Worth it.

He shows up with the dog like: “Relax, babe. I grabbed your mutt. You were gonna cry yourself sick.”

Lets the dog sit on the bed with you, even though he complains.

Lowkey gets jealous when the dog receives cuddles instead of him.

Threatens the dog verbally but would never hurt it.

If the dog likes him? Ran acts smug about it for days.

Comes with Ran, but he’s the one actually holding the dog properly.

Would never leave an innocent animal to suffer.

Goes himself to retrieve the dog.

Brings its food, leash, toys, everything.

Tells you plainly: “Your dog is safe. I won’t allow harm to things you love.”

Respects the dog like it’s your family.

The dog trusts him almost instantly.

Mochi

Complains, but still does it.

Acts like the dog is a hassle, yet:

feeds it on time

makes sure it gets water

takes it outside

If the dog follows him around, he grumbles: “Tch. Don’t get attached.”

Lies. He’s attached.

Sanzu

Initial reaction: absolutely no.

Sanzu sees the dog as:

competition for your attention

an unpredictable variable

something that can bite him (unacceptable)

He laughs when you bring it up: “You’re kidnapped and you’re worried about a dog? You’re insane.”

But then

You panic.

You cry.

You beg.

And instead of annoying him… it hooks him.

He realizes the dog has leverage over you.

And Sanzu loves leverage.

So yes, he brings the dog.

Doesn’t see the point initially.

Thinks: “They’ll get over it.”

Changes his tune the moment you:

Eventually orders someone else to get the dog, not because of sympathy, but because: “You’re no use to us like this.”

Still keeps distance from the dog himself.

This one’s complicated.

At first? No.

He doesn’t understand attachment in a normal way.

Thinks he should be enough.

But when you curl up, whispering your dog’s name in your sleep?

Something twists.

He quietly sends Ran or Kakucho to get the dog.

When it arrives, he watches closely.

If the dog growls at him?

Mikey smiles.

Not offended, interested.

If the dog likes him?

Dangerous.

Mikey decides you were always meant to stay.

At first, he absolutely would not take your dog.

His mindset is purely transactional: “We already have them. The dog is irrelevant.”

How dare they lose sight from the most adorable and angelic baby in existence by saying they were too tired? Preposterous! But they are able to keep it hidden, under a false facade of attention and worry. While they listen to your guardian's ramblings, in their head they have already decided they need to be closer to you so as to properly take care of you. Your guardian isn't doing a good enough job clearly! So who better than themselves to properly look after you and give the love and attention you deserve?

- Yandere Kindergarten Teacher is extra patient with you, only reads the bedtime stories you like during nap time, sneaks you little sweets and treats, always prioritizes your opinion whenever they play games, insist to your guardian that you can be left with them well after hours so that they can go and get that bread, throws away the lunches your guardian made and cooks better ones for you, convinces your guardian to hiring them as your permanent babysitter, builds a nursery in their home and prepare everything they will need when they finally kidnap you and brings you home. You know, just small things :)

But don't you dare think even for a second that they wouldn't love you as much, if not more, if you were any older. Like… I met someone at my time there who was actually kidnapped in the middle of the night with no warning and shipped across the country in handcuffs to get “treatment” because his parents were “worried he’d run away” if they told him they were planning on sending him to a residential facility.

And then of course he was in danger of being labeled “violent” and “noncooperative” for resisting being taken out of his home by strangers in the middle of the night with no warning. (Both labels often lead to further restrictions on your rights/further abuse in psychiatric settings).

Even if you ignore how rife with abuse the rest of the psychiatric industry is, the ability to have someone legally kidnap someone because you’re their parent, and then not let them go home until you decide they’ve satisfied some arbitrary standard is not even remotely ok. Especially considering the number of times I’ve seen parents threaten to send their kid(s) to a mental health facility, it feels like it’s yet another way parents can abuse their kid(s) without anyone caring.

Anyways I’m running out of coherent thoughts that aren’t just me being filled with rage, but youth liberation 🤝 anti-psychiatry
