This is gonna sound really pathetic so don't read it unless you care to do so...
... but oftentimes when life fucking sucks & you want something good to happen to you for a change, I wish someone would write a fic or draw a fanart for me, not because I requested it... but because I matter to that person. I can't really blame them for not doing so... I'm pretty much a "nobody" in any fandom I've joined because:
1) I'm not talented enough to contribute any form of artistic expression, thus creating interest over who I am or what I can do;
2) I'm too shy to make conversations with anyone... & if I do, I sound like a complete idiot trying to make sense out of nothing. Either that or I talk too much, which is worst!
3) I'm not one of the "popular" kids... because if they get to meet the "real" me, they'd think I'm not someone worth their time... and that's the most painful thing you can do to someone, next to stabbing them to death.
I dunno why but short replies to chats also saddens me for some reason... it could mean alot of things from them not wanting to talk to you at all so they just pretty much try to make "small talk"... or you're pretty much a "nuisance" to them because they're too busy doing other things & wouldn't bother to take a break to talk to you! Or everyone else is indeed too busy that they really don't have time for anyone so I shouldn't be bothered by it... but when the loneliness kicks in, it does make you wonder. Fuck I bet no one would even acknowledge this post at all since again... I'm a nobody... but everybody's a "nobody" to somebody so I should just get on with it, I guess.
Which is why making friends online (or in real life as well to be honest) is such a "struggle"... you don't know if it's "real" at all so you often question how much weight should you give to it. If I say "hello", will I get a "Hi!" back? Would they be thrilled to hear from me or would they be like "Oh fuck it's her again..."? Not gonna lie, chat replies excite me: I'm like Meg Ryan in "You Got Mail" when someone says "Hi" or "How Are You?" over DMs or comments... because for one brief moment, someone actually stopped what they were doing & decided to give you a few moments of their day to you... and I often wonder if I'm the only one who feels this way. Maybe that's why I always hold back every now and then... because it sucks to miss people who don't miss you that much & it's hard to want something you can't have.
But make no mistake: if any friend calls & is need of my time, I'll always be here. I may not be the 1st person they wanna talk to, rest assured that if they do, I'm be here waiting. Am I an awful friend? I don't think so but I try to be present at all times... I mean that's all you can do, really.
