"Secretly hypnotized in public" has a lot of good sides (the vulnerability! the thrill!) but a lot of the eroticism of it is lost in the process too. I adore the back-and-forth of hypnosis, I love the tist scanning the subject for weaknesses and playing into them, and obviously that doesn't mesh with files.
So for your consideration: innocuous hypnotist who just seems to be typing on a laptop + blissed-out subject whose headphones are hooked up to a text-to-speech program.
The Dom should be praised too
Take care of your doms. Praise them. Make them feel cared for and loved. Or you don't deserve them.
This applies doubly, x10 tbh, to transfemme doms. You NEED to be nice to her, you NEED to let her know she is doing a good job. That transfemme dom might have a lot of issues with her self worth, she may have been used up and left a discarded husk so many times.
Sorry but I got sick of scrolling through the notes on this on desktop and seeing all the red usernames marked by shinigami eyes reblogging this.
I'm a transfemme dom and I'm proud of it. Take care of us. Love us.
And then no one reblogged this version
sorry for being annoying [remembers that practicing gratitude instead of shame is better for my mental health and my relationships] thank you for letting me be annoying with you

aftercare but for your job
More black princesses, more black fairies, more black mermaids, more black girls doing all the things, for fucks sake
OP: When you walk the Jianghu, be fast (cr 兜里有糖)
ARE THESE BIRDS❔❔❔
There's a style of question that I see a lot from both sides of the proverbial coin, it goes like this:
"I am someone with [ADHD, Autism, DID, GAD, MDD, the list goes on and on] and I'm having trouble being hypnotised."
Or like this:
"I'm having trouble hypnotising somebody with [insert mental health here]."
And at this point I'm just going to claim authority.
I have hypnotised literally hundreds of people, including this or that neurodivergence and systems. I have been hypnotised, and I'm nuttier than a sack of squirrels. Hell. I'm aphantasiac (which throws hypnotists who rely on visualisation). Hypnosis works fine.
I've literally never met someone who can't be hypnotised, and I've never encountered a diagnostic group that is generally more difficult to hypnotise.
If you're a hypnotist struggling with hypnotising someone - well, doctor. Heal thyself.
What these questions - and most of the answers to them - are is ableism. Not petty bigotry or malice, but internalised and rationalised prejudice that impacts how we understand the mind and hypnosis.
It's rooted in the assumption that hypnosis is mental and the subject is mentally deviant, so clearly the hypnosis not going as planned is due to their deviance.
But this isn't actually a valid conclusion. While it's true, for example, that ADHD is associated with forgetfulness, that doesn't mean that everything a person with ADHD misplaces is due to that. Everyone misplaces things, and attributing behaviour to the diagnosis like that erases more nuanced understanding. Similarly, an additional language speaker may misspeak, but it is mistaken to assume that this is due to a lack of familiarity with the language, and native speakers misspeak constantly. Assuming competency or capacity based simply on the disability is misguided prejudice.
When there are apparent trends (e.g., "oh well people with ADHD are better hypnotised by this method"), this is usually an exceedingly narrow demographic: for example, if the poster's conception of "people with ADHD" is limited to a particular milieu like "white, middle class, largely online people with ADHD." The entire person with all of their demographic qualities is reduced to a single label, and that becomes the archetype for all ADHDers. A terrible reduction for all involved.
We can see this well expressed by queer people of colour, and the lament that the "universal trans experience" is typically just the trans experience of white middle class transfemmes. You've hopefully read about that before, so I'll try not to get into the weeds.
As one of those people with ADHD, my primary experience of "oh I'll treat you like this because you have ADHD and that's what works for you" is tremendous irritation and frustration. What works for the archetypal ADHD demographic doesn't work for me. The phrase "oh you didn't seem like you have ADHD" is seared into my mind because, well, sorry but I do. And I really would like to stop hearing educators tell people that the right way to engage with me is something that I don't really enjoy at all.
Most of the body of this text has been trying to show the nature of the problem - enough that I worry the thesis might have been lost up there in the introduction - so I'll repeat myself, and hopefully those who most need to hear it will absorb it better with the context given:
Your diagnosis is not a barrier to being hypnotised. Your partner's diagnosis is not a barrier to you hypnotising them. For the first group, be kinder to yourself. For the second, get better.
Getting Started with Erotic Hypnosis
Last edit: April 2026
So you’ve heard some folks evangelizing at play parties, you’ve read some hot smut, and you’ve decided you’re excited about Erotic Hypnosis™. Well, I don’t blame you, cuz it’s objectively the hottest kink (she said, objectively). But how do you start practicing it for yourself? I mean, you can do what I did and just sort of flail until you somehow found yourself firmly embedded in the community, but if you want a slightly less chaotic approach, here’s where I might start:
Read(/Listen)
The “Bible of hypnokink” is Mind Play by Mark Wiseman. This is probably the best place to start for anyone interested in this kink!
Learn Hypnokink is a GREAT, digestible online resource about what this kink is and how to do it
9 Persisting Misconceptions About Hypnosis, a zine by sleepingirl and GleefulAbandon
Two Hyp Chicks is a delightful, educational, and often v hot podcast about hypnokink by sleepingirl and cckitten.
Hypnotic Amnesia by Lee Allure and DJ Pynchon is a bit more niche, but still a super neat window into how this kink works and one of the specific, rad things you can do with it.
Get Horny
Go read/watch some porn. Seriously. There are some links in the preamble above, I’ll wait. Take the porn with a grain of salt, because it’s not necessarily realistic, but it can definitely give you a sense of what parts of this play turn you on, which will help you figure out what in the hypno-sphere you actually want to get up to. A handful of specific suggestions:
Written:
ReadOnlyMind is the shiny new hub for hypno-smut and smut for its related kinks!
In particular, the #real-play tag (and probably handful of analogous tags) contains smut about erotic hypnosis as it’s practiced in real life, rather than fantasy mind control stuff
The Erotic Mind-Control Story Archive is probably the biggest repository of written material, though also very inconsistent in quality, and can be Problematic™. Still, it has been responsible for many orgasms in its time
Jukebox is a rad and particularly prolific writer. I mention him in particular because he has so much stuff out there that if you browse his archive, you’re sure to find a story or two that catches your eye
Other authors that I particularly like:
My smut lives here
h-sleepingirl
EllaEnchanting
Ari (see also: Tumblr)
And dream-operator
Video:
Mesmerotic: real hypnokinksters doing real hypnokink and being extremely fuckin’ hot about it!
Entrancement: this is the real deal. Erotic hypnosis done by an actual erotic hypnotist, it actually gives you a pretty good idea of how this sort of play might work
Classes and Cons
Honestly, the best way to learn about this stuff is to go to classes! Look for your local hypnokink group—if you live in/near a reasonably-sized city, I bet you have one—or go to one of the many rad hypno cons out there. This list is somewhat out of date, but you can start here.
There are full entire cons for hypnokink, the most prominent of which are Charmed, Beguiled, and NEEHU.
Also many broader kink events have a hypnokink track or a few hypno classes in there (lookin’ at you, TES Fest!
You can learn from people who have been doing this for a while, and maybe even more importantly, just meet some cool folks!
Meet Humans and Chat
You can find experienced hypno-players with whom to shoot the shit either in person (at classes/cons/events) or on the interwebs. There’s a small but mighty band of hypno folks on Tumblr, and a handful of varyingly active Discord servers for local groups and big national communities.
The biggest Discord server I know of is Erotic Hypnosis (invite link here) – you can meet folks there and find a bunch of educational resources, as well as probably use it as a jumping-off point for smaller regional groups.
Practice
Honestly, this is the hardest and most useful part. If you wanna get into this kink, practice is key! It’s the only real way to develop these skills—and this is true on either side of the pocket watch, as it were. How to do it, though?
With a play partner
As either a ‘tist or a subject, it’s easiest to learn the ropes with an experienced partner to guide you through. You can find play partners at events or on the interwebs, as mentioned above. (Note too that hypno is particularly well suited to long-distance play—you don’t need to be in the same place with these folks to practice with them!) I’d add: at kink events, mention hypno in your cruising post! There are hypnokinksters everywhere, I bet you’ll get some responses.
You can definitely practice this stuff with someone else who’s new to the game, though, as long as you both communicate lots! Talk about what does and doesn’t feel good, and experiment until you find stuff that works for you. And don’t hesitate to reach out to your hypno-scene contacts for help and advice!
For ‘tists: if you feel uncomfortable making up your own inductions, you can start reading from scripts, to get a feel of how hypno works! But I’d encourage you to start making stuff up as soon as possible, because it helps you gain fluency, and ultimately makes you a better hypnotist.
By yourself
Self-hypnosis is a great way to practice hypnokinky stuff! There are a lot of greatttt hypnosis files out there. Some folks I’d particularly recommend:
My stuff :-)
Lee Allure
Chew Toy
The Secret Subject
Ella Enchanting
DeepDiscourse
Impish
Tennfan
Imaginatrix
Sinister Denial
For hypnotists: if you’re comfortable with it, I definitely recommend trancing a little yourself, just so you can get a feel for what it’s like, and better understand your subjects’ experience. Regardless of whether you personally want to practice trancing, I’d still recommend listening to some files and getting a feel for how other hypnotists do things—it’ll help you develop your own style!
With a pro
Paying a professional for a session—whether it’s play or a lesson—is a great way to dip your toe in hypnokinky waters while knowing that you’re in good hands. Check out:
Dahlia Lark
Imaginatrix
Sinister Denial
Lee Allure
Anyone in the orbits of these fine folks
Re-upped this, if anyone you know is hypno-kink curious and wants a starting point!

okay okay hyponotic amnesia is hot but consider being incredibly aware of the hypnotist's suggestions. knowing exactly what they're doing to you, how they're manipulating your mind... and you don't want to stop it because you've been told you don't want to stop it. wonderful
Having a thought and knowing it originated from outside of your mind.
Doing something and knowing that not only that you did it because you were told to, but you didn't have any choice.
Waking up and picking out an outfit and realizing it's one your hypnotist has said they like after you've finished dressing up like an obedient toy.
Knowing that even if you tried to resist, you wouldn't make any headway because it feels so much easier to obey.
still living with my parents as an adult is just like. i'm grateful to not have to pay for groceries. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful to have a roof over my head and not have to pay rent. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful to not have to worry about sending out endless job applications that all lead to nowhere. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful i'm grateful i'm so fucking grateful. i have to get out of here
Try it...
An Egyptian programmer created a page dedicated to every Palestinian soul killed by the occupation during the war of extermination in #Gaza.. So far, he has registered 72,000 names.
Each point of light on the screen represents the name of a martyr, and when it is clicked, the name of the person it belongs to appears.
The link is in the first reblog :
A memorial for the 60,199 Palestinian victims of the Israeli genocide in Gaza. Each dot is a name. Each name was a life.
I like when fic length/book length/movie length is its own punchline
characters: Ah, I'm so glad that's all over now :). But luckily that's done and dealt with and we can all resume our normal lives now :)
fic length: Chapter 9 out of 48
Odysseus: Thank you for the concern, but brother, I can assure you Our journey is almost done.

one of my favorite things about hypnosis is how much of it is just the hypnotist being like "good. just like that. you're doing great. very good." people just really like hearing that

Ignore the spiral pattern in my eyes im fine and normal
So everyone talks about praise kink right? But I think there's something to be said for a reassurance kink.
"That's it, you're doing it right, darling, don't worry."
Any guidance through even the simplest of tasks.
"I'm here, I'm not going anywhere."
Feeling weight, like a hand resting on a shoulder or thigh.
Making eye contact and getting a smile and nod back that says, you're doing great, keep going.
Being hushed or swayed while receiving back rubs.
Being fully surrounded by their body while they say, "it's okay now, I'm here, you're safe."
Yes, this with nefarious purpose in mind
