YOUTUBE DOES CENSOR COMMENTS!!! This drives me insane. Youtube does Does DOES censor comments!!!! I made a comment that it was outrageous that women who get raped can't get an abortion in whatever state.
I got the pop-up that it was posted successfully. For some reason I swiped up and back down and realized the comment was gone. From that moment to the next week, every comment I posted was the same.
"Comment added successfully"
~15 seconds, there it was
>15 seconds, gone. Every channel, every short, every video. 15 seconds, comment deleted.
The only thing that seemed to work was going through my comments and deleting everything with a no-no word, anything that decried political stances from the orange thing, A N Y T H I N G.
And it's NOT consistent. It's NOT unilateral. They change their minds CONSTANTLY. Shit that was okay a month ago is absolutely getting your comment deleted now, but in a month, it might be okay again. It's not gonna undelete your comment though.
It blows my mind that people are still shitting on people for speaking their mind because they don't like the euphemisms they've had to come up with, but it seems like those folks' preferred solution is just "no, use the bad words. Get your comments deleted. I'm not going to listen to you if you censor yourself[, I would prefer you post the thing you're thinking and it be deleted so I don't have to see the euphemism that upsets me, especially since I'm disregarding everything you say if you self-censor anyway.]"
Like yeah dawg, y'all unlocked the secret. The best way to beat the censorship? Browbeating anyone that tries to find a way around it when it's impacting them.
Grow the fuck up. You may be able to speak how you want wherever you want now, but that doesn't mean it applies to everyone everywhere. Stop doing the fucking censorship work ON other people because the silly words make you angry. You sound like old racist white men who get mad when women say fuck. Listen to the message that's being suppressed and judge that. Read.
Reddit, Quora, GOOGLE FUCKING SUPPORT (this one's funny because it says they're "currently experiencing issues" on this. It's from 2024), and just for good measure one more Reddit post that explains in great detail how the comments are being deleted with NO notifications and NO way to tell which rule was (allegedly) violated.
Or are at least hundreds of people with the same issue annoying them enough to actively post to seek answers online not enough evidence?
