cant help but notice basically the only way anybody can talk about women looking good in any positive context is through the lens of them being sexy and/or a target of sexual desire

constantly torn between "lesbians should be allowed to express sexuality and particularly it's regressive to act like that's in some way analogous to the male gaze" and "surely we can find a better way to say women have done something interesting aesthetically than posting that 'not to be a lesbian but' screenshot and i think it's a reflection of ambient cultural misogyny that if a woman is perceived as sexy or fuckable it's like the only praise she will get aesthetically"

when a woman is doing a cool dance or sport or wearing an interesting and stylish outfit or showing off some hobby or complaining about the way people devalue her worth as a person or making scientific advancements etc etc, why is it that the only way people will engage with this is saying that they want to have sex with her?
